So you could not think up ur own name. I would have hoped that PGI blocked the use of some names.

No need to hate brother, Been using this name since the mechforce battles back in the 90's used to represent Clan Wolf in the northwestern US Battletech tournaments.

Nice to see a fellow die hard St Ives fan. I mean, they got the best mechwarrior in the inner sphere

And this is true, I don't hate Capellans. But I also want to keep their armed forces out of St. Ives' territory. I'm also not too keen about the repercussions of a successful Capellan invasion; not real keen on becoming a servitor.

ED: Or taking my marching orders from a mad-woman.

I would tend to disagree before Sun Tzu comes...At least he's sane

If you represent Clan Wolf, you would just be Phelen Ward.

Does not matter as soon as they get around to it you will have to change your name because it is a reserved name.

Does the FRR wind up absorbed? I am just now getting up to speed on the whole Clan bit (just about finished first Blood of Kerensky book) so my post-3029 history is weak.

My point being, someone mentioned St. Ives' falling to the CC around 3069, perhaps the devs have planned the history of MWO that far out. Many have speculated we will get some time dilation of the calendar, and so perhaps they don't want to have St. Ive's players wind up orphans....

FRR gets absorbed by Ghost Bear by the 70s, and the two effectively merge to create a hybridized IS/Clan state. This all goes down within a decade of St. Ives reintegration into the Capellan Confederation. I'm frankly surprised the FRR is playable, since they basically get steam-rolled.

But you'e in the same state from the beggining + you never could change it.

FRR, on the other hand, started off as a republic about the same size as CC and if they held the line a bit better, they could be more than just those 7 systems. :)

A man can dream. And if St. Ives hadn't been dog-piled by the CCAF+Star League+Canopus+Taurian Concordat, things might have panned out differently. That's one tiny, tiny state holding out against humanity for around three years, and if St. Ives had just been fighting the Capellans, things could have gone differently.

ED: Besides, if the rest of the IS can dream of things panning out differently, why can't St. Ives? ;D

Phelan Kell (3031 – 31??), also known as Phelan Ward and Phelan Wolf,

He did not retain both names. He dropped Ward and only used Kell when the warden half went to the Inner Sphere.

I can see the devs (Liaoan-twisted) reasoning for putting the FRR in but not the SIC. The FRR took the brunt of the Clans and survived by force. The SIC was signed out of existence when Sun-Tzu became First Lord. There's no honor in that.

Not quite that simple, but I know where you're coming from. Honestly, this little personal crusade of mine is winding down. I'll still be a big fan of St. Ives, but I know when I'm beat (I mean, I knew I was beaten before I even started, but I like hopeless causes).

In that case, he should be just Phelen Kell-OR he could be Phelen Ward Kell since that was his middle name but i still dont approve of him using a Canonical name, Developers should get those.

Thanks, so my point is valid. If they follow canon fairly closely, FRR survives, but St. Ive's doesn't. Which would mean orphans.

Except that the SIC isn't set to be folded in to the Confederation for another 13-14 years real time, since it's 3049 and game time to real time is 1:1, unless they are planning to make time jumps with expansion packs, it's hard to believe that the game will still be around that long. So no, that's not a valid reasoning.

You said it yourself, "unless they are planning to make time jumps with expansion packs".

Several times people have pointed out that after a few years things will settle down. They have also said they aren't going to follow canon EXACTLY and that we (as players, in-game) will have some control over how things shake out.

So it's entirely possible that down the road, they could jump the timeline ahead and keep it "real time" otherwise.
