You said no one used them, yet they are being used, and extremely well by some players.

They suck, anyone that uses an LBX10 well could use any weapon well, it doesn't mean an LBX10 is good.

Same with AC/10.

Same with MG.

Same with Flamers.

Same with Small Pulse Lasers.

I'll debate Medium Pulse Lasers...but whatever.

ER Large lasers are still pretty much worthless too.

The only reason I was looking forward to this patch. ;_;

What is wrong with the Missiles now? Seen lots of Missile Mechs killing other Mechs when their Team provides good solid locks for them.

ER large laser works well in large map, but we don't have many large maps yet.

Which could lead to breaking the game even more or even longer without patches.

Breaking the game is part of the beta process...it happens.

The thing is, right now...they break something or have something broken and ignore it for adding things like consumables.

Lets take the map skip exploit.

Based on the original thread, that has existed since closed beta. And they are JUST now starting to try and take care of it.

That is a CORE part of the game, random map drops...and they leave a bug that lets you skip maps and leave your team at a disadvantage?

That's downright silly.

So, no hud, map, or radar fixes. No fixes for the invisible walls on the new Desert map (which had had it's rotation increased for testing), but we damn sure got new useless statues to put in our mech cockpits. I would have figured having no hud and not being able to tell friend from foe and killing teammates to be pretty high on the priority list considering it pretty much happens to one person per match. Guess not.

Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that those HUD bugs have been a serious pain to track down and resolve, the good news is I was informed this morning that the yellow screen issue is resolved (low level bug in flash animation system), or the fact they can take a long time to reproduce and fix, while cockpit items are fast to make and rarely encounter issues. Nope obviously we just don't want to prioritize those items and would rather give you stuff for your cockpit *sighs*

If you want to know the status of an issue and if it's prioritized you can always just ask (Thomas keeps a known issues thread in the command chair), and if we don't instantly reply it might not actually be because we're all enjoying the high life but might actually be because we're working hard on the next key bug fix for the game.

I use one on my founders cat to great effect and have done for ages. I do sometimes wish I could spare a few extra tons for an ERPPC, but the ERLLAS has turned out be be a very effective long range weapon.

Actually yes I am. I LOVED the Alpine patch. I think big maps were a huge step in the right direction for the health of the game long term.

If they do good, I don't berate them. But March leading into this patch...has been a horrendous time.

I do have to agree with the idea of larger maps...One small caveat with alpine is the large chunk of the map that rarely gets used...thats my only complaint of it...

I do though really like the idea of large maps with varied terrain and ecosystems...some parts mountainous, some parts prairie, rivers, valleys, bridges across deep revines, heavily forested areas..lol....perhaps Im going overboard but one can hope ;)

Well now that a dev has posted I'm sure this thread will be impossible to read.

So I'm just going to say, I realize not everyone agrees with my views.

But where I come from is looking at a long term approach to making this a viable money making game, which is balanced.

I don't want to go another decade without mechwarrior.

But right now, based on the last month, the developers have completely lost their way.

As long as your company motto goes "It was our position at that time" you have no right whatsoever to complain if people assume such things. You made your bed, now sleep in it.

I love it when a developer gives an honest, non-public-relations approved response like this. I mean that in all sincerity.

To the Map hack point. Yes it has been around and guess what, when "we" were in CB, no one used it. All this shows is that the more leathernecks you allow in, the tighter your hack prevention has to become as a result.

Don't blame PGI for that. Blame those cheating ******** who would sink to such low depths that playing the game is not their mission, just f'ing over others that are trying to play the game is.

Then "some of those" would even have the balls to come and gripe on the Forums, under the guise of caring... ;)

Considering there's a 60 second cooldown for a team to fire off a strike, there's not going to be much spamming.

Nope, that's not what it says- there's an initial 60 second delay at the start of the match to stop you hitting the spawn point, but after that there's only a 10 second cooldown each time.

*Edit: Having said that though, I was mostly joking about the spamming anyway.

Yes it has existed for quite awhile, but very few were using it and thus its effect was not game breaking. Recently with the inclusion of bigger maps that greatly alienate some builds more people started using it making it elevate to breaking teh game for much of teh player base. Thus it became a much larger issue. It is a prioritized system of bug fixing. If something is not a huge issue but there is another that is, you tend to focus on the huge issue. If that smaller thing then becomes a huge issue, you then fix it now.

Don't let the color stop you from buying it, though, we will eventually add changing Hero 'Mech colors.

Isn't it so sad to see the IP being looted and mismanaged yet again? I've been playing Star Conflict recently, and for a dinky little game with less than 1/10th of the population of MWO they had no problem implementing basic things like functional UIs, lobbies, public player counts, the dropship mode that MWO has been talking about forever, and interesting game modes. They've also avoided P2W entirely...there are 5 tiers of items in the game and the stuff you can buy with real money is equivalent to tier 4, you can only find/loot the tier 5 stuff.

To those who defend PGI's mishandling of this game - go out and see what other developers are doing. PGI only looks good when you compare them to EA.

Beta in a worse state than most alphas? I know the solution, more consumables and BS mechanics before the game can even stand on two legs. Nice business model creating artificial exclusivity with a mech variant as well. You can't sell items on the merits of the game so you rely on poor business models GG.
