Are you saying that it appears that 12,000 people are using a hack in MWO or are you just saying there are12,000 people registered on the that particular un-named website?
I think we'd notice 12k's worth of hackers,...we'd never win a match

I can make a webpage in the next five minutes advertising a working hack for MWO, and claim i have millions of subscribers to it.
What you actually get, and what i actually have are two very very different things.
I agree

I did this a few days ago on 2x Atlas headshots one after another...I thought for sure I would get called a hacker...I got lucky but, to be fair I did aim for them. Usually when I do nothing happens let alone 2 in a row.

[Redacted] What can be done?
okay, a few things there champ that I'd like to go over with you.
1. if you suspect someone of cheating, this is slander unless you have irrefutable absolute proof of the deed
2. if you have irrefutable absolute proof of the deed, turn it into the authorities ONLY. In this case that would be the support team. I know we live in the facebook society where everybody thinks its okay to get into the private business of others, but honestly if its a rule breaking situation that's detrimental to you and/or other people then you give it to the rule enforcers so they can do what they're paid to do. Of course "detrimental" is subjective but I like to think in this case it means "endangering others or spoiling fun"
3. in the event information does leak out, make sure you have no connection to it

4. Did you see the policy against name and shaming on the forums? that's there for your benefit as much as theirs and the people you have issue with.

If you're on a crappy line, pings can get insanely high. If I try to play during the evenings, about every other game I'll have maybe two minutes where my ping goes up to 2000+, sometimes 5000+. That's not something anyone would want, though, there's no chance to even pilot when that happens. You just jump all over the place constantly.

Intentionally throttling your connection speed to gain a lag-shield is an old trick that goes back to any game with an auto-aim feature, such as traditional "WoW-like" MMOs. FPS's don't tend to have an auto-aim feature, so a high ping becomes a liability. However, streak missiles work on an auto-aim mechanic in this game, so you can exploit a high ping to get an advantage.
It does happen but, like any other kind of cheating, but I don't think it is really widespread. There have only been a couple of times where I have seen it be fairly obvious, like a 3L walking at half speed through an entire group because he knows he can't be touched with a delay of a second or more.

Ah, ye olde standby glitching in Halo 2. Flag taken, flag captured, round over! All before you could finish saying, "What the f-"

There are a lot of accusations floating for sure but very few proof have been put out. Hacks/modifications/cheats will always be around, nothing can really be done to it. MWO having them? Sure. Widespread? I do not think so.
