try something else next time like: we don't know how to do it, we don't want to do it
we won't do it , we don't like it, no , yes , maybe, but ...
NEVER EVER EVER FOREVER SAY "NO PLAN" TO 80% OF THE QUESTION
if there is "NO PLAN" THEN MAKE ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by reading all 33 Q&A , all I see is your improvisation all over and also that you have no plan what so ever
I can tell you what my plan ! leave realy soon if I don't see any major improvement/communication/information ABOUT YOUR PLAN in the next 30 days.

Next time perhaps we should ask questions related to local weather, sports and the like.
I've got a feeling inside of me that the next answer to whatever we ask will be "**** you!"

Yeah, it's pretty telling when they release none of the background stuff on hero mechs, lack of screenshots, lack of ISN updates, ask the dev's basically has no info.
What are they doing exactly? Consumables? That should take all of 5 seconds to code.

Mokey Mot: "Will there be limping animations for legged mechs?"
A: There are.
Why would you even pick this question to be answered, when there are perfectly good questions about relevant issues being ignored continuously? Was this an attempt to be funny? If so, it failed miserably.
Kageru Ikazuchi: How will what PGI learned from the Heroes event shape the future of MWO?
A: It helped us
WOW, THIS WAS VERY INFORMATIVE. This was an open ended question which had the potential for a positive response, yet you dropped that throwaway line (probably cause you couldn't answer it with NO PLANS™!)
I don't usually like to rant, but this just crossed the line for me. I don't know whether they woke you up at 3 in the morning to answer these, but this is one of the worst Q&As I have ever read, of any topic, ever. Very disappointing.

It also seems clear from the answers provided this week that at least one person at PGI has a distinct and somewhat odd view of what the MechWarrior experience should be.
For one thing, there were a lot of "No"s to questions about putting in some better game modes that in the past have received more favorable responses from PGI.
And then there's this:
Quote
A: Not outright. We plan to allow matched players the ability to vote on the next map.
Yuck. Still stuck clinging to a terrible map selection process where players can't select an appropriate mech for the environment, and now on top of that we'll have whatever the map du jour is being repeatedly voted for so we can play it ad nauseum.
If it actually goes that route, you might consider simply disabling the mechlab entirely, stick everyone in a Generic Robot that they can make visual modifications to like paint and decals and "swap heads" and other visual features to their heart's content, but that all have zero impact on the actual functionality of it. And then force us all to use modules as the only means to differentiate or "specialize" the robot in any way beyond the visual.
It's clearly not an authentic MechWarrior experience being provided when we aren't even allowed the most basic preparation of selecting appropriate builds and camo for the environment we're going to drop into, and when the emphasis is on cockpit decorations, colors and camo that has been stripped of all functional use due to the randomized drops. And the devs are now expressing interest in more visual customizations to mechs while turning down actual features that would improve and extend the gameplay such as more game modes and an ability to choose the proper mech for the job.
So, speaking sarcastically, why bother teasing us with the mechlab at all if you just want us to all have the same exact builds? MWO appears to be straying further and further from MechWarrior and increasingly towards a smaller and smaller range of "safe" builds that can still work across all the maps, and none of the real variety and strategy/tactics that comes with being able to take an appropriate mech/build to each environment.
And random drops combined with pub voting for the next map would complete the neutering of camo into mere visual decoration with no purpose other than vanity, since it's not like we can use camo appropriate for each environment when we are not told the map prior to the drop.

A: Yes. We’re working on a render-to-target system that updates the pics to reflect your customizations.
Yay!
Quote
A: No.
Boo. No new game modes, not even TDM, and at the same time also not adjusting/adapting Assault to be less capture-focused.
Quote
A: We’re testing some ideas. No ETA.
Quote
A: Soon, no. Possibility,yes.
edit: I wrote all of the above without reading any of the replies. Now that I'm reading through the replies, I'm encouraged by how many other people thought this ATD was rather poor.
This sums it up really well:

Just seems like it was a "Whatever, I did what I had to." phoned in performance. I can't figure out if they were supposed to be funny responses, but it was just confusing and a waste of everyone's time.
Take a step back and reread the formal post. Is that honestly what you look at and go "Yup I think the community is really going to appreciate this info I gave them!"?
Sorry you guys have such a passionate community. It's a very captive audience but we'd like to see some passion back please.
Exactly. There are plenty of us here with some funds we'd like to "invest" in this Beta but reading an ATD like this really turns me off, and I'd imagine others as well. Hard to tell if things will improve or be increasingly dumbed-down.

Seth: Could you clarify the answer last week concerning the split of US and UK players on different servers? I ask because a number of units have members from all around the world and it would be rough if we couldn't interact with them in the game.
A: For most regions, players will get to choose which servers to play on. So if you have a friend in the UK that want to play with US players, they can log into NA servers. This holds true for NA players, who can log into EU servers and play with friends there. Final details are still evolving, so this information is subject to change.
It will be a huge shame if they have to go back on this.

The game starts getting boring, and new maps or new mechs wont change that much. New stuff, like the one you promised would be great...and i am NOT talking about new cockpit items....its more like...CW...PVE content...or at least giving real information about the things that r to come in the ATD threads...well, just saying....

A: It’s a one way transfer. You can always create a new account in the desired region of play.
Well this one for me is personally distasteful. Like come on... one time transfer and screw you. Yeah start a new account will you sucker. OK even if I start a 1 new account for each zone how the hell will it help with latency then? I still be on NA and EU server. How it will improve my experience? Ah yeah thats a good one I will have opportunity to grind one more time and throw more money at you? Basically from what I understand is totally OK to have 2 accounts to play in two zones but it is bad if I could do that with just one account? Ah whatever.
So I am really dissapointed on this one.

DV McKenna: Initially we are told we'll get a one time transfer to the server region of our choice. Once done we are stuck there and there is no=zero ability to then play with the opposite region. Can you be a bit more specific here?

Uhum... And what about my game assets, skills and MC on this account? Outrageous! O_o
