Third person should be restricted to training grounds and spectator mode. Not actual combat. If we get some kind of Co Op mode, maybe it could be offered for that as well. But do not put it in our PvP.

Unfortunately, that's the CoD playerbase.

I like this argument a lot, especially since CoD doesn't have 3rd person view (Arma 3 does, btw) and CoD players already find a pleasant home in Light Mech gameplay that 3rd person has nothing to do with.

I don't understand why they even replied to that guy on twitter he was rude and many of his twitter posts revolve around replaying Mass effect sex scenes. I doubt 3rd person view would even result in him paying for the game.

Why can't they copy from a better F2P game? Go full LoL, give us trial mechs we can fully customize however we want for free but are stuck to those four variants until next rotation and have to grind out our copy of that mech (or another chassis/variant whatever) instead of our current crappy trial mech system? Come on Piggy.

It isn't inundated with posts about coolant because people are tired of being ignored and pushed to the side. Threads are being shunted off into the "unrelated" forums for arbitrary reasons when they are filled with posts that are very critical of the game. They're also filled with posts writing off the criticism as being written by trolls and haters. People have fought hard and been ignored. It makes it hard to keep going sometimes.

I for one am not sure if i'll continue playing if third person comes in. Unashamedly i have spent a fair amount of money on this game and now i feel like i've been conned.

lets face facts: PGI honestly <from a PR standpoint because it sure looks this way> has no respect for the title, no matter what they say, nor do they respect us, because if they did <on either or both> they would have said: we see you guys do not want it, we will shelve it, move on, and find ways to fix this game and make it better that wont result in a huge PR backlash.

Well they are really trying hard to make us quit and never come back aint they.

Sideways flying streaks
Coolant flush
Screwing over groups of friends between 5-7 members

I could go on but its just gonna be more and more reasons that make me want to quit this game.

Actually there are a lot of people that want it as well. I don't know which is majority, but it's something they should set their foot down with and just say, "No". As I said, it'd be great for spectator if directional locked to the torso, but that's probably all we should get out of it. I prefer third person games myself, not FPS titles, but with MechWarrior, you basically need to be first person if there is going to be any kind of immersion that you're actually inside the thing. A pilot in a tank does not magically have 360 degree vision; he's more or less limited to a port hole and must use sensors of some kind. With driving a car, you can see in all directions, so you may as well be third person, but these are basically tanks. Your pilot can only see forward; nothing else except for what the HUD is reporting. You=pilot, not a koopa in a floating cloud with a camera on a stick.
