I see many of the same missile haters going on and on here even when it is painfully obvious that lrms will need adjusted.

There is no such thing as a support mech in this game. NO ONE WOULD USE IT.

A volley of 100 lrms is 5 shots from a lrms 20..

If you guys are working to remove lrms from the game just say so.

Well, what do you expect from a missile that weighs only 11 pounds?

the problem is:

should a mech be able to fire 100 lrms at once?

That sounds more like an actual problem.

I dont mind as long as I`am in my 4G....sounds as good target for my AC/20

you have no idea what you're talking about.

No, I'm sorry but its you who does not know what your talking about here. I've read all your responses and it is clear you have no understanding what so ever about LRMs and what they are used for. LRM's "are" support weapons which means they are not meant to be "primary weapons". They are use to stripe armor/weapons and soften up targets for "primary weapons" to destroy the target. That is just what LRMs are doing now, I'm sorry you think they are suppose to be a primary weapon system but the fact is they are not and you need to learn that. Good support players are always a needed aspect of any good team I would suggest that you now learn to play a support mech correctly so you can be a benefit to your team. If you the type of player who is all about getting the kills then I would suggest that you do not take support weapons as your primary load out. But if your a team player and don't care about if you get the kill or not and want to be a real asset to your team bring support weapons and really learn how to use them to better your team.

Oh and one other thing, they type of warhead is know. LRMs only use HE and SRM use HE or HEAT but mostly HEAT the same goes for SSRMs which is why SRM/SSRMs do more damage.

Read the quote below, you're ignoring the splash damage.

The point of my post was not the damage. The point I was making is that we as LRM boats who are not Stalker Pilots.

Sacrifice most of our tonnage and abilities to bring our weapons to bear.

Catapult C4
STD 250 Engine
BAP
Sensory Module
4xLRM10 Artemis
6 Tons of Ammo
No JJ
Low Armor

Not only do I barely go 68KPH I have no JJ mobility. I sacrificed everything so that I could beat ECM. I sacrificed much to account for battles being short lived and being able to push out enough damage to support my team.

An AC20 takes 15 tons to be able to push out the possibility of 140 damage. They have to aim and shoot to just do a straight 20 damage.

I have to wait for a target, lock on, hold lock, to do a mere 14 possible damage including splash? 5 Tons per LRM10 Artemis. That is 20 tons. Another 1 ton for ammo 21 tons to do the possibility of 14 damage.

Get your heads out of your [Redacted]. If you have ECM coverage most of my missiles will not hit you or even find their way towards you. If you just duck your head under cover then the missiles won't hit you. Those missiles float in the air for 3-4 seconds when I fire. You are telling me that you are going to get hit by them because you can't find your way under a rock or ECM? Not to mention If you move out of my line of sight I lose lock and those missiles MISS.

People complain LRMs are an easy button but have they ever tried to do it? The only people who die to LRM often enough are the idiots who rush out into the open without ECM.

You know what, [Redacted], PGI is going to cater to you idiots that complain LRM's are overpowered regardless of what I or any other LRM user says. I bet that they won't even buff the LRM damage past .9

I Quit this game.

Oh and to the ***** that talks about LRM's being support weapons. I agree LRM's are meant to be support weapons. But this patch made it so that I can't even hurt a mech. I am throwing bricks at a metal wall. I never gun for kills in my LRM boat. I sacrifice a lot to help soften targets for teammates. I often target the least damaged enemy. I guess it isn't enough.

100 LRM's stripped away his ~50 points of armor, oh I'm completely satisfied with that. Sounds totally right to me. I mean what the hell, that's only 50tons of weapontry (5x lrm20) and then ammo on top of it. Return is 50 points of armor damage? Hell yeah man!

(for the slow minded, above is sarcasm)

Thats just the CT, plus all the other armor that was hit.

But guess what, thats how LRM's work. You guys just want easy mode when the reality is they aren't super destructive artillery.

I know what you need, get yourseld a dropship and do orbital bombardments.

Edit: lol didn't see the sarcasm bit and with the post right above this one saying the same thing its not obvious sarcasm.

Your referring to what they are in TT.
TT is garbage when it comes to a real life simulation. Before this last patch lrms were only viable verses noobs and useless in competition.

So if your simply trying to remove them why not just say so.

Support role in a MMO = no one uses it.

Protip: Direct fire weapons will always be better than LRMs. Doubly so with the broken ECM in the game.

this seems to have made my non boating LRMs using mechs useless. I should just get rid of them and put srms instead and turn all my mech into close range brawlers...

Gonna tell you the truth but you are going to be in total denial...

LRM's -ARE SUPPORT WEAPONS-. You wanna boat them go ahead your advantages are the IDF and range. They are not, and have never been, a high damage weapon. They don't dominate the Btech universe, they are hardly even a major player in the lore. Deal with it.

If you want to be a ultra killing machine then don't boat LRM's.

Not my problem you or the team you play for can't use them in competition. My team and I have and they work great when you know what your doing and how to play a support role mech.

OMG You almost killed me with this.... just aim...its that simple... Geting lock behind hill or tag from 500m is way harder that aiming in mech going 90hps within 300m.

That's garbage. If pgi wants to make an effective mmo they aren't going to follow bt and or TT lore by the book. That stupidity you just quoted about support weapons is a good example.

Unless you in a pre-made you aren't going to play a support role.
They might as well ermove the things if that is what they are thinking. Thank God they don't listen to the support role clowns.

No it's not. You guys wanting TT this and TT that are hilarious to listen to.
This is a MMO. TT and BT are not. They don't translate to real world live environments. The devs are relizing this and deviate when ever they see fit.

Support roles are one of those instantces. You guys are just fan boys who can't let go of the past to move on for a wider audience.

It's so painfully obvious how broken LRMs were that I can only speculate the dudes defending their previous position are new to gaming or something.

Irrelevant. LRMs were overpowered as ****, and they are now competent and useful weapons that do not destabilize the entire game.

Are they too weak? I'd say no, but it's possible. The important thing is, are they gamebreakingly unstoppable? No. And that had to happen.

I see someone took their cheese mech from patch day out and got shown what LRMs should be doing, With their splash damage they are about at table top level so what is the problem? every other weapon is at tabletop value, why should LRM and SRM be special?

Am I the only one who thinks mechs of similar weight shouldn't be able to alpha each other barring lucky/well aimed head shots? Your LRM boat wrecked his armor on the first shot, looks like another one would have killed or severely crippled him. Looks fine to me. If you want insta kill artillery play WoT.

Also about missile damage and TT Rules, remember that only 12-15 missiles on average would hit from an LRM 20 (2d6 on a table to see how many connected). So all missiles hitting for .7 plus splash seems like it will be ballpark compared to TT. That being said I fully support the devs taking liberties with the TT game to make it play better in a real time computer game that does not involve dice rolling. Apples and oranges imo.

-Accident

Edit and that no alpha comment carries on to splatcats too. Can they still one shot heavies post patch?

There are no LRm only players anymore.
Everyone uses all sorts of mechs.

That being said I find TT balancing to be stupid for a MMO. You cannot balance using it in live servers.
All weapons should be balanced as primary weapons like in almsot all other MMO's. Or only fan boys will be playing in a year or so.
