also raven 3l is being limited in engine size

statistically ferro armor doesn't give you better armor in any way except when it comes to how much armor you get per ton, are you sure you where using the same amount of leg armor with and with out ferro armor for proper comparison? you might also be jumping higher thanks to more JJ

I haven't done any comparison at all lol
but I know in my stalker I am able to fall much further than the spider has recently with no leg damage, but i has more leg armor so I may need to up my leg armor to negate the damage a bit more..

doing both suggestions resulted in this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f9a3ab51540c3dd
and I quite like what I see ;)

yeah heavier mechs do tend to take less fall damage even tho they weigh more, and that is a pretty nice build, that flamers can negate the cooling effect of 10 external heat double heat sinks or 14 std heat sinks! pretty helpful when helping out a team mate brawling someone, i can see why they don't stack, they would be over-powered if they did, imagine a hunchie 4 g with 9!!

hope i helped with your spider, i love those things, they are the first mechs i got ;)

It would be quite epic to see a hunch breathing a wall of fire, of course, if they stacked, I would just be running away lol
This is my first spider and I have to admit, after playing my fair share of battles in my stalker its nice to be able to move faster than 50kph lol

Thanks for all the help!!

lol i sold by begginers spider after buying a hunchie, but now that i have worked my way up to a phract i ended buying back my spider, i missed it so

spider is the fastest mech in the game and we all have a need for speed sometimes, might as well get a spider to satisfy ourselves

Hi, I'm driving trebuchets now, and completed basics for 7K and 5J, and I enjoy 7K much more, mainly because I'm a ballistics fan. Right now I'm driving this build:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b36f3359df30ccb

and I enjoy it. But i'm thinking about swapping uac5, ML and DHS from torso's for ac10. When I get TBT-3C I will also have XLengine, but untill then I stay with standard because of cbills.
Any ideas if that ac10 build will be good? Maybe some other changes worth consideration? In my build I enjoy that I have 2 weapons dealing pinpoint damage at all ranges, plus ML for lights and additional alpha in close quarters

I would stay with the UAC5 (I hate this weapon since it is really the Rotary AC5) with the basic cool down, you can get 2 shots in the same time as one AC 10 shot for less slots and tonnage. It can even out DPS the AC20 at the cost of ammo and risk of jamming. Plus you are able to keep a ML and DHS adding 5 damage and longer sustained fire time.

Thanks, in the meantime, I was looking for some enjoyable build for TBT-5J, and it turns out that swapping ERLL for ERPPC, was all I needed to love that mech, now I'm looking forward to getting xl300 engine from 3c version and get all that speed :) That is my current build for 5J:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3dceb09b2929f64

in short, STD armor maxed(legs both 1 point below max), 4ML, ERPPC, Endo, 15DHS, 250STD engine (waiting for xl300), 5JJ

basic upgrade to help reduce chance of guass getting hit and also reduces the lose of cooling effect from losing an arm
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f93d26505b981a6

pretty good set-up, i like it, main things to consider are removing maybe one heat sink, which would dro cooling eff to 43%, and that would give you a ton to play around with, if you reduce the leg armor by 10 each along with that you would have 1.5 tons to play with, allowing bigger engine, and 1kph higher top speed (and basically every other type of movement) not a huge gain, but not a huge lose either, might as well try it, but then again engines aren't the cheapest things to buy.....

actually less then ten each, more like 6 each

... this is like the 3rd time you've posted this in a thread to get it critiqued, you must think this mech is realy all that. Never the less ill proceed by telling you to move all the gauss ammo to the same torso as the gauss itself to help your wep from getting crit. Also I think AMS's are complete rubbish considering lrm's are rubbish and rarely used. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8de317970e76e27 Personaly imo you use too much gauss ammo, but that's just me.

I apologize, one of them got no responses and I must've spaced reposting it more than once.

I'm an old man and sometimes my meds in the East Coast evenings, allow this to happen. I will make it a point to address this poor etiquette in the future. :)

edit: I deleted my earlier thread, plz link if I missed one, I will remove it as well.

Anyone help me with a Cataphract 3D Brawler build? 4xMLas, 1xAC20, 3/4 JJ, 14xDHS, and 300 STD engine.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8c2bd8c48e30f97

I've got 8 critical slots still left, so I don't think this is optimal yet...

well manly you can either reduce armor and/or put in a smaller engine to give yourself something else like another jump jet since you have 8 slots left, you can also remove those 2 double heat sinks not in the engine, put in ferro armor and a bigger engine for something like:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5eb01f8e6a3185c

41% heat but it goes 72.9kph with out speed tweak and 80kphish with speed tweak while turning its body/moving its arms faster, and phracts a partially made to be highly mobile brawlers (unless your talking about the 4x.......)

if you have the money its really just something you try out instead of just saying "better in every way ill take it" if thats good enough heat eff for you the higher speed is always a welcome upgrade
