There you go.You can remove the ac/10 and get an ac/5 or uac/5.

All of the Atlas builds will fire all of their SRMs in one big barrage - doesn't matter how many you have or which SRMs you use.
Here's how it works using Smurfy mechlab:
This means that a 2 M (4) has two missile hardpoints, and each of those can fire four missiles at a time.
So - just to compare some examples:
Two SRM4s: Will launch all eight missiles at once. Each tube fires all four missiles.
One SRM2 and one SRM6: Will launch six missiles, and then two more missiles after. The SRM2 will fire, and four missiles of the SRM6 will fire, followed by the last two missiles from the SRM6, later.
Two LRM5s: will launch eight missiles, followed by two more. Each tube launches four, then the last remaining missile, after.
One LRM20: will launch in five long waves of four missiles each.
One LRM10 and one LRM15: will launch several waves of missile - first two will launch 8 missiles each, then the third wave launches six, and the fourth wave launches three. (This is very inefficient, and increases the cycle times of the LRMs.)
---------------------------------------------
Now a two wave blast is not a big deal - so 2xSRM6 is just fine. But, if you would like to, 2xSRM4 would work well, also -- it is a little smoother, and the other nice thing is that SRM4s cycle faster than SRM6s (added on top of the faster cycle for the launcher), so you will be able to fire them more often.
If you did go for the SRM4s, you could do a couple things -- you could upgrade them to Artemis SRMs (not a big deal, but a little nicer at the 100-200 meter range), you could up the engine, or you could add some AC/20 ammo, since 2 tons isn't terrible, but it isn't much.

so i should balance the armor from front to back like you set it up?
oh so its 4 per launcher, anyway, should i put more armor on the front???

Yeah, you would have a half ton left over. You could either (nearly) max out the leg armour, or, I might suggest taking another 8 points off of each leg (down to a respectable 43 pts) and adding in one last ton of AC/20 ammo for 3 tons total ammunition - 21 shots.
Basically like this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...41ed88c92585740
Now the weird thing you are probably wondering about is the ammo in the arms. This is actually quite common, especially in league/competitive play (example: competitive DDC Brawler Atlas - http://mwo.smurfy-ne...808c8b5a1e79901 ). The reason being, that an ammo explosion in your arm - will cost you the arm and some torso damage, no doubt - but is far enough away that it wont be fatal or even all that bad. If you are taking critical hits to that arm, then you are probably close to losing the weapon anyhow, so losing the ammunition isn't that terrible of an event. It's not as good as the protected legs, or difficult to hit head, but it is much safer than the torsos.
Alternatively, you can just leave the AMS ammo in the side torso, because an AMS ammo explosion isn't all that bad compared to AC/20 or SRM ammo.

see what you can do

you have no idea how much i had to resist putting in large pulse lasers, didn't want the lowered range :/\
something tells me im not good with those kinds of builds, i also made it with just 4 pulses, no srms
actually, use this link, same thing, but put in a bigger engine

Thoughts?

I figure by the time anybody gets within 200 meters I'll just be using SRMs and MLs, anyway.

Okay. Some things:
1)Ferro-fibrous isn't needed. With 100 tons to play with you don't need the tonnage, you need the crit space.
2)You really don't need more than a ton of AMS ammo. If you blow through all of it, then good job. You got your money's worth.
3)Going from a 350 to a 360 standard costs 3.5 tons for very little return in speed. It's not a very good trade.
4)It's not a good idea to strip armor completely off your back. It leaves you very exposed.
5)An Atlas doesn't need max leg armor. At about 65 points of armor in your legs it become as difficult to shoot off your leg as it is your entire side torso, except when someone shoots off your side torso you loose a bunch of guns. People will aim for your torso instead.
Try this instead.

so i make a mech my own way and people look down upon it, then i make a mech using what i think other people think of as good, and no one, not even me, like it :/ give me a sec to make that a little differently to suite my own tastes while TRYING to appeal to others

Why are you getting upset at others trying to improve your build? That's what this thread is about.

It's not fancy smancy, but it seems to work for me.
Do you think I can further improve my centurion mech? I am thinking of swapping the AC/10 for either the Ultra AC/5 or the LB 10/X Autocannon. Though I have never tried both of them, the Ultra AC/5 from videos and reviews I have watched is often prone to jamming which can be frustrating at times. The LB 10/X Autocannon is also surprisingly expensive costing a hefty 800k for one gun.
I think my Centurion CN9-A is fine for the time being. With regards to speed, LRM helps nullify that and aid firepower support from far away distance. I thought of getting a XL engine for the mech, but reviews that stated that XL engines are troublesome for medium mechs because often times when the right and left torsos gets damaged, the engine will blow up.
I thought of getting a better standard engine, but that's all I can really afford to put in now.
To me, this mech is played as a support mech with the AC/10 and LRM. When brawls happen, I switch onto my SRMs and medium laser and AC/10 giving me a good brawling firepower.
In combat, for Long Range engagements, I launch 2 of my LRM 5s (both of them are 2 tons while a LRM 10 ton is 5 tons thus I use it to free up 1 ton of usage). Occasionally I use my AC/10.
For medium range, my AC/10 and medium lasers seems to do well.
For close range and in brawls (not alone) or close range support flanking, my medium lasers SRM and AC/10 does the work.
Overall, very decent mech IMO. I like to see your opinion about my first build, thanks!
