how much ammo would you recommend for dual uacs?? its gonna be slow, but it will work

also, it got me to find a use for standard heat sinks

3 tons per gun is about as low as you want to go.

43% heat when standing in water

3.5 tons of ammo per uac

41.7 kph without speed tweak XD

lol, yeah i know :) don't worry, i would never actually use it

you have gotten me thinking about another way to set-up my pract tho, i think i was kinda putting an assaults set-up on a heavies chassis

might make it more versatile

or even give it better dps

This build has been pretty effective on the battlefield so far but if folks have any C&C I'd love to hear it.

Ah, the ol' SP is a classic, and it's really hard to mess that one up.

The only difference between yours and mine is that you opted for Arty 4s rather than standard 6s. Not much I can do with that one when I run a nearly identical version of it.

There's a fine line you have to toe in mechcrafting. Sometimes, adding another gun just isn't going to make your mech more effective. Sure, that 6 PPC stalker might be really scary... once. Then it shuts down like a chump and gets torn to shreds by people who know how to build mechs. A Stalker that mixes a few PPCs with a few SRMs and a few lasers is much scarier to fight than one that just packed on as many PPCs as he had energy hardpoints.

You really need to balance between using your hardpoints effectively, using your tonnage and crits effectively, range bracketing, and heat balancing if you want an effective mech.

yeah, tell that to the ppc stalker that just tore half of my phract to shreds in 3 seconds, then the other stalker with 6 large lasers that finished the job for him, cruddy match making, all we had was an awesome, they had 3 stalkers, and an awesome ;)

what can you do about this build, trying to get a little more of a midrange focus, might switch srm 6s for srm4s artemis
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fb59413d30de560

and i meant that ballistic build as a JOKE, stop thinking i would really build something like that and use it, well i would, but not in an attempt to be effective in a fight, and again, it is well balanced, just slow as fk, and a little explosive :)

Thanks Nader. I opted for the Arty 4 since I think it offers a tighter grouping. I typically use them once the MLs have striped the armor off an opponent or if I need to cool down a bit in a brawl.

btw, i noticed the shape of a phracts torso causes the ct to take the most dmg, you think xl engine would be safe to use?

i usually loss my ct, not rt or lt

Putting an XL in will cut your survivability by quite a bit. Phracts can get away with it, but not as a brawler.

SRM 4s work better at "range" (they're still useless past 270, but you don't have to be hugging them to get all the missiles in one spot) and Arty SRM4s improve that.

It's worth a shot.

which stalker can mount 6 energy weapons???

don't worry, that last build isn't for brawling, tho it is probably pretty good at it, what you think of it? see any room for improvement?

still can't decide between atlas and stalker :/

6 ppcs stalker does look like a great mech tho, but if i make my brawling atlas, it would actually have higher dps, max and sustained, but it would also be less profitable. And i also don't really like the thought of my opponent killing me in 2 alphas, but he does have a minimum range, that if i can get into, he will get crushed. i would need like 3 million more for the atlas, and the stalker would be great at making money, doesn't even need ammo, think i should get the stalker first?
:)

i could also put on large pulse lasers instead of ppcs, no more min range, and it will run cooler, and be cheaper, but the atlas would be even further ahead dmg wise....

I'm an Atlas man myself. The Stalker is a toaster for both other mechs and yourself, and it handles like a drunken hippo.

lol, drunken hippo...
how do you use your atlas???? long range, brawling, support fire???
i really want to build a beast brawling atlas, but a brawling set-ups seems pretty useless these days, my phract gets demolished by ppcs boats and jagers all the time and i can't even shoot back, stalker looks more useful for the new maps, since my dream atlas would be useless with recent maps, ;) and the stalkers maneuverability wont affect it as much in long range fights, while havings lots of hardpoints
all i get to do on newer maps with my brawling set-up is shoot at people at the very end of the match when they are close enough, barely get any dmg in each match

and it keeps putting me on the hot, open, desert map :/

Realistically same thing as yours but SRM6 w/Artemis. You can switch out 1 DHS for the 5th Mlas or Tag.

Right... here's my issues, with a whole bunch of Tissues!
I have the
Catapult K2..
A/C 20..
2x Med Laser.
AMS.
10 DHS.
Stand 200 engine.
Standard Armour rating of 298..
Firepower 50..
Sounds good?

Well, here I has the tissues...
My Catauplt C4...
20 LRMs w/ Artemis...
2 Med Pulse lasers...
4 JJ...
10 DHS...
260 standard engine...
186 Armour rating...
Firepower 40...

Next in the line of Suckage...

Cataput C1
LRM 15s w/ Artemis...
4 Med lasers...
4 JJ..
10 DHS..
260 standard engine...
CASE...
320 Standard Armour...
Fire power 41...

Now, I do have another Mech...

Jager DD... Where do I begin?
Currently, because i have changed it so much... well, look...

1 AC 2...
1 AC 5...
1 UAC 5...
2 Med Pulse lasers...
250 Standard engine...(Dropped that XL, like a bad habit...)
10 DHS..
2 CASE...
191 Standard Armour...
(Now, please don't laugh...)
Firepower 24...
Yes, you read that right...

Now, usually, I don't give a rata about my K/D ratio, but I just looked at it, you need a Microscope to see it, thats how low it is...
If you can help, without rolling on the floor, would be nice...
Thanks...

What speed has your CTF got?? judging by your previous messages its probably too slow... My CTF-3D is close to 90k with speed tweak and JJ's (Thanks too guds and protector) and I love finding a 6PPC stalker its such a free kill ;)

The stalker has a slow twist so dont approach it head on and you have the advantage... once he fires and misses stop track alpha ... the old stick and move... your CTF should really be 80kph to be effective... too slow and your just a waddling duck begging for attention...
