I am trying to design a LRM boat that can dish out the pain and so far I have had limited success with this variant of teh Atlas... I also have a Highlander. I was hoping maybe you could give me tips on which chasis would make for the better Boat because I can turn iether into a top notch brawler just need a c-bill stacking rain maker.

AS7-RS
Upgraded the engine for better mobility, vastly improved heat efficiency, better backup firepower (though at the cost of higher heat output), and C.A.S.E to protect some of that vulnerable LRM ammo. Redistributed ammo a bit so losing the one side torso doesn't take your LRMs fully out of commission. I think you might have a bit too much ammo although I'm not really one to say given that I'm not much of an LRM user.

I present to you this thing. Yes, i have close to no rear armor. No, i have no problems with that.
I'd like to see what you can do with it. =)
Optionally, I'd like to see if you can solve two of my biggest problems in one fell swoop - Heat, and Ammunition Count.
Hello Afoxi,
As a minimum, if you want to continue to use your own build, move ammo from side-torsos to arms and 1 ton to head (it is used from head first).
What bugs me with your build is 13 free slots. My suggestion would be either to use this build presented by Just wanna play
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7cb7a57a15ea250
Or to actually remove 1 ton of ammo. Then you have slots for ferro-fibrous, with which you can fit in XL300 and 1 heat sink in the engine.

If you are not too much into dakka dakka, and really want to solve ammo problem, take out AC2 and use PPC instead:

or lasers with more heat sinks.

You say that you switched to Endo, while in your link you show that you switched to Ferro fibrous armor instead.
If you switch back ferro fibrous to normal armor and add endo steel instead, you will have weight for a couple more heat sinks.
Another improvement is to move ammo from center and side torso to head and arm/leg instead. This will give you a tiny bit of survivability.

You didn't distribute armor for full available tonnage, but that's details. I do not think that it is a good idea to go for XL engine with this weapon load-out. This is more of a brawler load-out, so you want to keep survivability of a standard engine. And you have to remove this ammo from the center and side torsos

I'm currently saving up for DHS, is there anything i can do short term to make this better til i have the cbills for DHS?
Get rid of c.a.s.e, spread ammo to two arms and one ton to head and now you have 0.5 tons of additional armor.
Also move heat sinks to where weapons are located (arms, right torso), this way you prolong chances that weapons are not destroyed, but heat sinks take critical hits.

There's not a lot to improve on, it looks fairly solid as is. Delchev has it spot on, the only thing I'd change from that is switching the ERPPC over to the other arm. That way, you won't lose your main armaments when your RT blows. Also, grouping those two MLs in the right arm makes them work together a lot better.

I would have gone with this: AS7-RS.
2 LLs pack a good punch at close/mid ranges and tag is imo necessary for every LRM build.
(I personally would also dump the BAP and put STD340)

Note I only put on FF yesterday after discovering I can. Basically up armored the arms with that.
Thanks.
Note: I basically regret the decision to elite the Dragons in order to get the most out of my Flame. For whatever reason I had the most success with the 1c. It has the best stats. Having said that after kitting out 3 dragons I am basically stuck with seeing through my decision. Just as an aside.

Not too much can be done. If you have problems with survivabiilty, transferring some 6-8 armor points from rear to front would be justified. If it was me, I would actually do 66 front armor on center torso and 42 on side torsos.
As of the build itself, consider removing srm with ammo (considering the state of missiles right now), as well as one heat sink from the engine in order to exchange medium laser with another large laser. In such a way you will have 2 neat weapon groups with better fire-power at longer range.

What I have done is go to AC5 instead of UAC5, remove the SRM and keep the heatsink. But thank you and a shout out for the thread.

any advice for this brawler, or fine as it is?
I had a build with artemis before, but forgot the build :s
Srms 4 are better in my opinion, less spread, less heat and a bit faster reload. It is also more ammo efficient and solves your Artemis problem at same time. Your build also suffered from long range capacity and as someone else mentionned, ammo location.
I fiddled around minimally and got you this:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...69d4e822c313d47
Basically switch srms 6 for srms 4, lose 1 heatsink and 1 ton srm ammo which enables you to place them in safer location. You gain an erppc ( can be a ppc if you prefer but It's always nice to have the close range finishing blow ) that gain you long range punch, even if it's only suppressing fire to get them to duck.

This last medium laser does not make much sense, imho. I would exchange medium laser, PPC and a heat sink for two large lasers. Agree to SRM4 though.

Also, you need 4 tons of ammo, 21 shots just isn't enough (hopefully). Shave armour out of the legs to make the space, or drop a heatsink. I find the YLW doesn't need any extra sinks then the 10 internal DSH in the engine.
Personally, I like to run my YLW with a standard engine. It becomes a very scrappy long lasting mech when you can sacrifice the entire left side and lose nothing of value. While the value of being able to zombie around with 2 MLAS is debatable, I like to be able to do it.
The YLW has an incredibly slender CT that is difficult to hit. It's large shoulder sides are another story. On the other hand, the extra 20kph of the XL300 might let you avoid more damage or reposition better. With most mechs I prefer speed above most other concerns, but I find the YLW does fine at 87kph. It's up to you to decide what you like better.
I build mine like this.
Sorry about the late reply but I've been busy at work and didn't have much time to play.
I like what you went with so I'll give it a shot.
