Art/Air strikes seem to be the most potential for game changing. Will be interesting to see how these turn out.

Potential for 60-100 damage from those, but with them spread out, that's unlikely.

HexePPC Stalkers better be more careful about shutting down however. That would be a cause for fun.

I will probably put Art/Air on my Spiders however, those could be hilarious.

I've taken collision damage multiple times in the past month. There's just no knockdowns in the game still. Collision is there.

Awww, that's a total bummer the color change feature didn't make it in this patch, and sadly it will delay my purchase a bit. Oh well, hopefully soon! :(

Also kind of concerned that the delays are only 4-5 seconds on the strikes. Also you should be able to call map grid air strikes from the "B" screen.

That's pretty self-selecting, though, particularly since the polls were conducted right after the forums had spent a couple of days rending their garments over the previous LRM/SRM damage bug. From an actual balance perspective, this is somewhat good for lights and assaults (the RS is closer to the DDC now, and the Jenner is arguably closer to the 3-L) but terrible for the entire medium weight class and anyone who wants to use lurms.

The only reason thermal was used before hand was it had major benefits. Now they have no benefits over normal vision in 99% of the maps.


You made a very good, albeit inadvertent point here.... The 'major advantage' conferred by heat vision is now removed, which requires you to, you know, actually close on the opposing team and pilot smartly.

Everything I see them implements tells me that they're trying to move in a direction where pilots are required to use their eyes to be successful, while still allowing for things like ECM and BAP. I'm very pleased with this development.

Most important to me is how do Airstrikes look? Is there a plane coming in and looking cool, or is it just a boom?

Considering there's a 60 second cooldown for a team to fire off a strike, there's not going to be much spamming.

You can't call in artillery or airstrikes from the B map? Awwww. I suppose people would spam artillery at spawn on game start if you could, though.

That wasn't an inadvertant point, that was the whole point.

Before patch...Thermal great, gives sight benefits in every situation aside from uber close brawling.

After patch...New vision modes both worse than normal mode, only use is going to be RC night.

End result...might as well have just removed river city night and both vision modes instead of spending time and developers fixing them.

I mean really...they did nothing this patch.

Holy bad posts Batman, this guy might as well be dressed in green spandex!

I don't care if they had super duper maps or whatever, but they didn't even have 5 decent bug fixes in this.

And based on what we know, the next patch isn't shaping up to be much better.

Is this a beta or not?

So your point was that an unbalanced mechanic wherein a pilot could easily see the movements of and shoot at mechs over 1000 km away being nerfed is bad?

Why don't we just have 1000km zoom in the game then? Night vision Thermal wasn't meant to make map sizes pointless.

and on that note why cant i shoot down missiles with my weapons?
