I wouldn't be so sure. As metastasis occurs I fully expect some of those gameplay discussion threads and patch feedback to take on some of the worse aspects of GD.

I'm fine with talking about it. You can make a thread for me if you want, I don't mind. Or you can PM me about it. You two seem to have a nice interest in me, but this thread isn't called I hate Jakucha, :)

They don't want to have a community anymore. Too many displeased customers telling others why they are upset.

True dat. Damage control is now in effect, in full force.

I don't hate you, I just find you and people like you fascinating. It's always interesting to see how fanatics form around corporations and organizations and how utterly they lose perspective.

It reminds me very much of the way people acted in the hell gate london forums it had the same problem with people like your self loudly deriding any and all complaints.

Now mwo has not only a confusing new player experience but a confusing and bloated forum structure as well, was about time that happend.

Who needs new players anyway...

Its almost as if they're TRYING to kill the game. Guess they're cutting losses.

Which is typical of the end-of-life for any product.

How to completely **** up a forum, part 2.

Seriously, any decent web designer would be screaming at whoever authorised subdivising subdivisions even further. What a cockup.

Bad idea. They are just sweeping it under the rug rather than meet complaints head on to find solutions to these problems and improve the game. For the game to be successful they need to be tackling these problems. There are several much Anticipated games coming up that will nodoubtedly take away from this PLAYER BASE. which will be nails in the Coffin :) .

No kidding. I foresee massive player movement in the next few weeks with the new betas opening up...with resulting massive loss to what little they have left. The powers that be have killed Mechwarrior....again.

Ahhh! Hellgate, I knew this reminded me of something.

Man that was a sad way to destroy a great concept.

Believe it or not, I look at things middle ground, if they're not rage posts. I don't automatically discount a person's post if they

1. Love MWO

2. Hate MWO

I suggest you try to do the same.

Actually you always post the same things in every thread. At least Roadbeer at one point was open to discussion. I've had a few with him.

You do nothing of the sort.

You might want to go re-evaluate your self appraisal.

General Discussion was a cesspool, but spreading it around isn't going to do any good.

Indeed, You will find the more loudly people scream down complaints the closer the game is to dieing. In many ways that is part of what makes this so perturbing. The number of people who are loudly screaming down any and all complaints is on the rise and it's an indicator that the game is very unhealthy.

The fact that forums is being restructured in a way which makes threads about the problems also vastly harder to both find and post is another indicator that the game is in a bad state.

On the plus side one positive I can say is that the mods are for better here than they were in the Hellgate forum.

I still recall when the person who found the source of the huge memory usage issue for hellgate london was banned. basically all the inventory icons weren't actually still jpegs/vector graphics and instead they were filled with rendered models in your inventory screen even when the window was closed so the game ate craploads of video card memory and the game slowed to a crawl.

The number of people who were banned fr pointing out flaws in the hellgate forum was amazing.

but you patently don't do this, almost every post i've ever seen from you is your self deriding other posts and whining about their complaints.

It's remarkable that you think that is in any way a middle ground.

And now that this thread is mostly arguing about me, I'll point out this is how general discussion mostly was, i.e. off topic and not actually discussion about the game. Thanks for proving my point :)

I've found this balkanization of the forums quite confusing. Let's say I want to talk about what the news post tomorrow is, or impressions of current game balance. Where do I go?

Shut your mouth and move along, Citizen.

The fun thing about this whole thing, is a new player is going to come to these forums.

They will try and sift through the 50 sub-forums...and then...

See a bunch of people posting with centered text, trying to sound cool.

A bunch of people with spiders and 6 machine guns.

And a guy who cyber stalks people.

I'd imagine that's going to scare them off pretty quickly.

This game is not healthy, and removing the general forum will not help that.

Hard to see this as anything but an attempt to fragment the community and help mods further justify locking/deleting threads in the name of duplication and topic-inappropriate.

I would like to be more optimistic, but it's difficult. The past few weeks have been really rough on the game. I know I haven't been playing even with prem time ticking away. More than ever before it feels like the whole thing is sinking.

Bubut what if I want to talk about the intersection of mech and weapon balance and how the two issues cannot be easily separated into their own individual subforum?
