I am not fan of joysticks and I definately dont like Razer too much but it brings smile to my ugly face that relatively small F2P
like this can have this thing specificaly made for it from huge company like Razer
only thing I would potentialy complain is if the quality of the joystick was bad but none of us haz dat thing at the moment so...

Out of curiosity...are you MWO folks working on any joystick/control type products with third parties? I don't want to have to buy an old Steel Batallion controller...but something MW branded in a similar fashion would be killer

Yes

Interresting, too bad Marketting didnt judge pertinent to post that on MWO official website.
Once again, PGI is doing great, just saying that they need better Marketting because they DID drop the ball on this one.
Might be a good timing to learn from one mistake in order to improve one company.
P.S.: Its the same thing about all the In Game interviews, Screenshots and what not that are not posted on the official website until after a few weeks... Just saying.

I dunno, looks pretty cool, bet the price isn't.
It looks modular - so if you can buy the joystick and game pad sep - make getting the third option later much more lets say easy on the wallet.........they all plug into each other.....damn that is something....something very cool

If u see the backside photo, u can clearly see it's NOT modular.
U can allways get a logitech G13 as keypad and a "normal" joystick if u are so kind on this and don't want the screen

It's funny, I do want this even though I almost have this setup already, just not assembled together: Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback, Nostromo n50 (yes, the original one), and for the display I've got a Wacom Cintiq that I use as a second monitor when I'm not using it for photoshop (although here's to hoping there's some way to get those custom Razer screens like the minimap and hit locations as a separate window I can display on it... I've never tried anything like that with any other game).
And even though people may balk at the thought of a >$100 controller for a game, I know a couple people who got the original Steel Battalion which was made out by the press as a "$300 controller with a video game attached to it", and they love their "$300 controller" and would still have made that purchase today. (ironically, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor is set to release on the same day MWO's Operation:Inception goes on sale)

Here is my post from the large Artemis thread. It sums up my feelings.
I'll clarify my disappointment.
The first reason being the scrambled images had NO real impact on the actual reveal. Sure the little "swirls" could be construed as radar lines...but how you connect that with a controller I have no idea.
Secondly, I played SWToR (Star Wars the Old Republic) and they built custom products for that game (Razer SWToR Gaming Peripherals). As you can see, that's a $250 KEYBOARD. No fancy screen, and custom board with integrated Joystick/Throttle Stick. Yes, it does contain a Multi-touch LCD track-panel, but it's much smaller than the large screen (looks like the size of an iPad). The price is just going to be astronomical. I've also seen people saying that it's multiple pieces, can I please see a link providing proof of this claim? And I don't mean the video, that doesn't prove anything. The price is just going to be astronomical.
Thirdly, I know I'm rough on my hardware. And Razer doesn't have the best reputation for building a product which can last, much less be rugged. Think about it, you're going to be in the midst of a battle, SLAMMING that joystick around in anger/frustration/bloodlust as you pilot your 'Mech down opponent's throats. Even when people are trying to "baby" their equipment, when you're in the moment you tend to not be thinking about that. I just don't think it's going to last

TLDR: It's really cool. But I can't justify something I will most likely break for the price isn't going to be set at.

You can want tactile interaction with the game? Buy a much less expensive joystick. Don't be surprised when the majority is rather disappointed when the devs are cater to the minority.
So the majority is a bunch of whiners who poop on everything and complain that they got to excited about something that wasn't made for them because they're excitable like hamsters? That can't be true, you take that back.

However, there is nothing groundbreaking here - a similar effect could be obtained with existing controller / gaming keyboard combinations without attempting to squeeze a few extra dollars out of their fans.
What I fear is that certain data may only be easily accessible through the Razer Artemis interface thereby turning MWO into a pay to win game by requiring that a player buys that hardware to be truly effective in game.
So to Piranha games - prove to us fans that this hardware will not be required, but only a nice accessory available to those who want it. Provide us some solid details on the interface, and how that interface may be made available to other gamin devices through an accessible API or other method. Show us fans who cannot afford high end hardware how the same information will be available in game.
Otherwise - you will end up having a userbase of less than 5K because those are the only people who can afford that controller.

The Youtube video I linked shows it is modular, perhaps even wireless. At 0:20 it says "Inter-device communication."
