Fair enough mate. Just dissapointed this patch and tired of the take the phract or highlander or don't bother meta.
Maybe just chaulk it up to beta fatigue but I was still full on steamroller into MWO up until the last couple patches here.
I am happy I can take my jenner out for a spin once and a while and not get torn up by ravens
Bucaneer pattern is cool if you're into that kind of thing
Hmm. I guess when im running my Dragon or Jager or Treb or PB or Ilya and winning im doing it wrong.. blame the player for his inability to arapt not the game.
sorry to say it but there have been tons of stability fixes that have brought many weapons in and out of balance, the balance has still been shifting and they are doing what they can to bring weapons back in line without over/underpowering them but as long as they're still working on Host State Rewind and other netcoding fixes the increased network performance will definitely be making certain weapons a lot more powerful and they SHOULD ( and are mind you) wait until all of Host State Rewind is in effect before they just start throwing buffs and nerfs about. Also, fixing certain weapons and keeping them in line with battletech rules is like walking on a tightrope over a tub of angry crocodiles, no matter which route they take, a lot of people are gonna be pissed off
People will **** and moan no matter what. If pgi did what these guys said itd b3 a different batch of jackqnapes saying the same drivel. Its the way of the internet for tards to demand everything now now now and it better be free too. I applaud your attempt but these people dont care about logic, they are short sighted and entitled. Just enjoy the game if you enjoy it, and let these fools wallowIin their own misery.

Go back and pull up their last 10 patches and you'll understand why that is.
Their patch cycle, and choices on what to include with patches, coupled with huge bugs being introduced with patches is what causes this disdain.
And really this would be a non-issue if EVERY patch had weapon balancing, and EVERY patch had bug fixes.
But they don't do that. They should, but they don't.
I challenge you to do the same. 10 patches ago is when they first introduced the Stalker and River City Night. Since then we have 5 new mech chassis, at least three maps, numerous bug fixes, stability enhancements, netcode improvements (including a complete rewrite), HSR...
No, what people are complaining about is that we MIGHT get a bug patch one week a month. We may get one mech chassis a month. But we definately WILL see some sort of cash grab every week of the month.
<snip>
We get bug fixes all the time. We have had one mech chassis a month...
We don't get a patch every week, unless you are including the weekend sales, but that isn't new MC content its just a sale on what is already in game.

Oh so you mean we have been given a game to play within the last 10 patches? If so your correct.
I have spent $160 bucks on founders and MC. I will not be spending a dime more until I see a near finished product.
The excuse of this is still beta is no longer valid when you, PGI, are constantly changing the definition for it. I harbor no ill will towards PGI but I have grown tired of the same song and dance.
When I see quotes like this from developers, I find little reason to believe this game franchise is in good hands.

This was a feature a long time ago, but something broke and a new feature fixed it up again.
Troubleshooting and problem solving 101. Identify the problem, plan of action, execution. Issues resolved? If yes document the fix for futures use. If not, back to plan of action.
This mentality of "something broke and now we added something new and it fixed it" is not acceptable. If a Network Administrator does this, eventually the whole network will fall apart. Adding unnecessary parts to an equation can get you get the result you want, but will also will leave you in the position of not knowing exactly what fixed it. I feel the mentality at PGI is keep piling code on code till eventually it works out. Keep adding new systems, items, and fluff which will only make finding these bugs and errors harder.

I honestly am not as big a stickler for mech releases as everyone else.
And River City Night is an abomination of a map.
For every bug fix, they introduce new bugs. There is no quality control for their patches.
And you totally ignored the weapon balancing aspect.
I don't consider them fixing netcode and HSR to be something we should be patting them on the back for. That was their stupid decisions that messed the whole thing up in the first place and has caused major development issues.
This game would be in a much better place if that stuff hadn't happened.

After installing the new patch and playing some games MWO still is crap the games are very short your mechs is a slow [REDACTED] players are even hacking the capture modes now you cant see them but the capture bar goes down. PGI here is for you and your great game [REDACTED] for making a crap MechWarrior game that is NOT!!! a joy to play.

Did you stop to think for a moment that this was his way of translating that into laymen speak? If they are not using issue tracking and source control I would be highly surprised. Especially given that they are an agile shop, and agile projects live by issue tracking and source control.

I didn't post each bug fix, or balance tweak since then but there have been many. PPC heat was reduced, SRMs and SSRMs nerfed, LRMs nerfed, ballistics buffed...
You are only looking at each little two week slice of development as an individual indicator of what they are doing, and not looking at the cumulative changes that amount to a big change over time.
Netcode, and HSR is an issue just like any other. Any part of the program that is behaving in some manner other than what was expected is a bug a/k/a fault if you want to use a more SQA oriented term.

So mad. Sounds like none of the Mechwarrior games are for you.

This game would be in a much better place if that stuff hadn't happened.
Their netcode setup prevents over 90% of the hacks you see on other F2P games. "One place kill," "teleporting" (deliberately), "flying," speeds beyond what the game allows, "zero-heat", and numerous other hacks are virtually impossible because of that decision. Otherwise this game would be riddled with more than two hacks (aimbot and 3d map). Aimbot is detected very rapidly with 100% of all stats tracked. Forums on other sites are riddled with complaints of being booted within 20 games of using it. That's faster than Any anti-hack ban system I have ever seen on ANY game. Most complain that the 3D map causes incessant crashes and insane bugs (makes you wonder about those that complain the most about them).
It has caused issues, especially with lower end computers, but I mean it's the Crysis 3 engine and they are already dumbing it down to DX 9 and made it run on computers with 4 gigs of RAM. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING above "Medium" specs actually work. Most texture upgrades do not exist at high and very high settings. Most game settings cannot be enabled by normal means. User.cfgs that force these things on cause stronger prevalence of bugs. They should not have to cater to people using DOS. But they do.
------------------------
On the balance topic:
PGI deliberately balances one side before any other to gather data on the specific balance change. Science calls this Controlled Testing. As a beta *Tester* you are a guinea pig. The very reason for your existence is to test what happens when PGI does this or that. The use of ballistics HSR needed to be tested. The AC/20 no-register bug needs to be isolated. "Does the PPC heat work like this, or do we need to buff them back up?"
Artemis was released without balance tweaks to get actual data.
Then ECM was released to balance the over abundance of LRMs. ECM went without balance tweaks. But missiles stopped dead for a while.
Later other tweaks were introduced, and people tried them. When it wasn't sufficient, more tweaks were introduced. Weapons became more varied.
Lasers became the big thing with the HSR. Ballistics phased out for the most part. But in doing so missiles were discovered to be insanely overpowered.
Missiles received a prompt nerf earlier than scheduled when everyone began exploiting that.
Ballistics received HSR. A trailer titled Go Ballistic is given to encourage the use of balistics for the data.
A series of solo competitions begin to better balance the corrected ELO bell curve. Matches generally become more balanced, but still imperfect in some instances to keep team numbers similar.
People complain about the new high ballistic meta, as they did about the old missile one.
Numerous tweaks get announced for the 21st of this month, including revamping heat levels for PPCs as they became the preferred weapon of most users. MGs get a buff that turn the 6 MG rig from 2.4 damage + maximum 7.2 Crit slot damage per second to 4.8 damage + 14.4 damage maximum crit slot damage per second with a 30 meter range increase. Numerous weapons scheduled to get changes, LRMs to get tweaks, missile HSR soon to come. SRM / Streak tweaks are not announced or mentioned yet.
Most of this patch has been bug fixes, FPS improvements for specific systems, stability increases for lower end systems.

Smurf is speaking about this bug but doesn't know about it:
Enemy nodes appear to be blue, allied nodes appear to be red during this bug. This is why it's important to follow teammates just in case.
The other issue is that Spiders, Raven 4X, and Jenners have discovered that if they leap ONTO the drilling platform and shut down with the right colors, players never think to look up or to look at the platform. Everyone always looks away for incoming enemies.
People should always look behind themselves, and everywhere that someone could hide.
Though yes, he does need a beer and a break.

Overall for anyone who is unhappy with the ballistics testing, wait for the 21st patch or ~Change~ the meta. Most games I'm in have LRM boats again and claims that LRMs are faster. They actually do seem to be.

Building a semi-sim game from the ground up isn't magic. It doesn't go very smoothly much of the time for lots of games. You say HSR and fixing the netcode was a bad thing, so it's pretty clear you only want to see this game fail.

A dev mentioned something about possibly increasing LRM speed a bit, wonder if they actually did.
Well, the funny thing is that the mech is named after you... I assume you've noticed that part (HUD bug amusement)
That's deliberate. My mech is just that awesome that it has the honor of bearing my name!
But no seriously I didn't notice.
If the whole video of Ghoulsby's Dakka 5N build (and that bug) interests anyone...
Spoiler
The full vid. There's 3 full test vids on that specific build. But thsoe you can find on the channel.
Then there's this, which is the "swift" version.
Using a macro reduces the heat of the cannon to virtually nil, but it shoots slower (one shot at a time) rather than bursting all weapons at the same speed in the order of the button held.
Dude you need a beer and a break. Ive never seen base cap go without a mech on it. Ok once I stepped on our own and it went down nut. it was months ago.
You are right I go drink beer cool off some beer was good. I can only say I really like to play MechWarrior game but it has become not so fun when I start to play I have fun make stupid builds go toe to toe with other players we shoot each other up have fun. Now I go in game little mechs I can not hit they kill all so fast or big mechs from very far away kill my mech a few shots I say where has the fun gone? I buy mechs use missles missle no work good no do no damage little mech with a few lasers come in kill you very quick. So I apologize to PGI for the finger but truly I wish for the days I was a new pilot only play other new pilots have fun. P.S you right map bugs do cause me to get mad no find the mech capture bug ya?
Hmm. I guess when im running my Dragon or Jager or Treb or PB or Ilya and winning im doing it wrong.. blame the player for his inability to arapt not the game.
i see no issue brawling currently, sure there is lots of ppc/erppc out there, but a buddy and i run ac20 mechs together and our win ratio is most definetly positive.... my issues rest solely with the hud/freeze/blackscreen bugs

My issues now have been stacked over the HUD bugs. My current problem now is when betty says "Target Acquired", the enemy triangle is filled in but the bracket does not appear until a good 5 seconds. After which it takes an extra 5 seconds to relay me the enemy information. This happens every single time I target an enemy on every match. So basically whatever was unfixed about targeting was better than it is now.

If that is truly taking 5 seconds then you should fraps it and submit it to support.
