A 20% projectile speed increase and 30% damage increase is useless? Say whaaaa.... sure ECM will still prevent lock on but if you take an LRM boat out with TAG and BAP you'll have no problem really until they get in 150m... in which case it doesn't matter if they have ECM you'd still be toast cause you let em get too close!

looks like i'll be trading srm's for streaks as well...Streaks and dual lbx oh joy......I'll be such a powerhouse out there. My lights screwed now. gonna have to give it a shot then garage his *** for awhile.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, a flamer will now shut down any mech that takes any action within seconds. Eeech, generally not a bad looking patch, but as a light pilot, I feel afraid:

1) Seismic and UAVs makes it difficult to remain undetected. Does ECM block UAV detection?

2) BAP counters ECM, no more streak cover and, as a result, there will be more mechs running streaks and blowing lights out of the water.

3) I run SRMs on many lights. While the new flight path/spread may be nice, the damage is still nerfed and not as effective as before.

4) Legging. Why does my speed fall with ANY damage? Might as well kill me as now you're utterly useless after being legged.

  • Streak SRM flight paths remain the same

    WHY? I'm using SSRMs as alight killer and will do so now even more. But the flight pattern and the Tornado of Death that are 4 SSRMs circling around a locked-on mech instead of burning out after 270 meters of flight are ... strange. If you can't adjust the flight path for insta-hit missiles like these, at least let them burn out instead of letting them circle the target until they hit. Please!!

I think you may be the one who has a reading problem. I don't honestly care anymore about consumables, they are so annoying to use. I could have all of the c-bill versions maxxed if I wanted.

What you use on Spider-5K or CDA-3C?that MG buff make them a little more usefull.NARC ammo count buff is nice.

Yeah that sux a lot.I see no difference for poptarts since Gauss have 4 sec cooldown anyways.It will nerf mechs who use 1-2 PPC/ERPPC like K2 or Awsomes.

You can use it to break ECM on AS7-D-DC or on mech staying near him so your LRM mechs can fire on him.

Just why is it 150m? LRMs are useless, SSRMs are too good. 150m range means nothing to LRMs and everything to SSRMs. Buff what is already overpowered and nerf what is already underpowered... really?

Also ... why we don't get all BAP features with ECM on and at the same time why the **** can I still fire SSRMs and LRMs with my ECM on ???





In other words get all the expensive funny stuff and all the *redacted* target decay modules and your missiles follow targets for 5 seconds after you lost lock, going around buildings etc. .... just great. And Artemis works with no line of sight. Super.

Failure to recognize that your ECM is what is broken and not smth else is just getting funnier and funnier. Using crutches won't fix it.
1) ECM is broken, its ECM not Angel-ECM or super-duper-one-way electronic bonanza.
2) LRMs are still useless because of ECM (see no.1)
3) SSRMs are even better now coz yaaay no ECM inside 150m
4) SSRMs really need a buff because yes ... center-torso-only hits.
5) SSRMs surely need yet another buff, because yaay, I can shoot guided missiles with my ECM on! (see no.1)
6) And sure PPCs are working just fine because a PPC boat beats an SRM-LBX boat in a close range fight!
7) And sure 4 sec recharge instead of 3 sec recharge for PPCs is a great improvement to game balance while anyone who actually playes the game sees well enough that pop-tarter PPC boats do not jump every 3 seconds.
8) If you will not remove perfect convergence the game will always be a pop-tart PPC-Gauss boats just like MW4 was. Nothing you do to PPCs will change it. Make it 10 sec recharge I will be jumping once every 10 sec. Make it 20 heat per shot I will do same. Removing perfect convergence and forcing players to do it manually solves 95% of broken mech builds and makes normal builds valid and playable again. Apart from that it gives skilled players an edge over a 6-PPC Stalker noobs who currently play this game in point-and-click easy mode.

Edit: One last thing. There are hundreds of suggestions on these forums that actually make much more sense than what you are currently doing to improve game balance.


Mr. Grumpy Bear! Someone woke up a bit early from hibernation.

The missle changes are not weak and AMS does not invalidate LRMs. The 30% increase in dmg combined with ART and Tag is nothing to be ignored. Brawlers equiped with BAP will also greatly aid LRM players.

I think you mean "you'll have problems -until- they get within 150m" as BAP does nothing to ECM until within that range. Of course, since your LRMs stop doing damage 50 meters farther than this, BAP is absolutely useless for LRMs as a counter to ECM (and TAG is proven as useless as well). What the BAP change does is let Streak units use their weapons again, and only vrs a single ECM target. If there are two, it does nothing.

Also, while the flight times have decreased, the flight profile has been flattened, which means LRMs can now be stopped by terrain far more than before, reducing the number of successful hit by considerable numbers. This more than offsets the increased damage change, resulting in an effective nerf. Also, it continues the trend of the Devs to eliminate indirect fire capability from their game in favor of direct-fire brawling rock-em-sock-em-robot thrillfest gaming. More and more, they want to force LRM users into brawling mechs, and these changes continue the trend towards mindless teenage gaming.

So I'm afraid you are incorrect. The changes to LRMs are fractional at best, and still leave them nullified by ECM, and overall nerfed.

I kinda like what i see.

Lots of tweaks, along with the new content. I am cautiously optimistic the real question is whether or not it is enough to push the meta out of the current rut. Time will tell I suppose.

20% speed increase is nothing. 100% speed increase is what you need if you don't change ECM.

PPC cancells ECM for 5 seconds. Question is ... can you really realize that there is an ECM mech that has its ECM cancelled, target it, lock on it and launch LRMs and hope they get there and all of it in 5 seconds of time??

Nope.

Even if I launch LRMs (long range not medium range missiles) from 500m away it takes them 4 seconds to reach a target. 4 seconds is more then enough on any map to get your steel butt under cover.
