I suppose you think they should get rid of air/artillery strikes and UAVs while they're at it. Sorry, but these make the game more about strategy and less about mindless zerg rushing.

Unfortunately, no. Unless "hide in the back and click the mouse when the cursor turns red" is a brilliant strategy. What did Sun Tzu say about it? "No plan survives contact with PGI's 'fixes'." Or something to that effect?

i like the new lrms though the flight path needs toned down about 5 degrees and the damage upped to 1 or 1.1 .

But regardless I truly enjoy all the players using lrms. They make my kdr rating go up when I slaughter them like helpless baby seals...lol.

This is what got me. Missle spam from 1000M and every hit went to the center torso. I was moving, using cover, but when they hit it was CT every time. I was cored without ever seeing my adversay even though I was trying to avoid their shots.

What makes the strategy brilliant is how it works out. Instead of relying on Sun Tzu, how about come up with strategy of your own?;)

So the crazy sniping from a range longer than LRMS can travel hitting you faster than LRMS travel was fun? Dropping at river city on the low side and getting shot as soon as you step off the base was fun. I guess stepping out on the water into that kill box at Forrest colony was fun too.

What was it that was being thrown around for the last few weeks? I think it was along the lines of "Adapt & Overcome". LRMS need to stay as a viable weapon. Their arc needs to be fixed, yes I agree. I think people got too comfortable with ECM cover and crappy LRM damage output so that they were barely fielded.

Define "viable". Do you mean that LRM boats should be able to kill (CT core) any mech' in the game in 2 or 3 salvos? Because that is what we have.

II wish it works that way. I can't core those cents in 3 salvo ;)

You've got to be kidding. I can remember at least 3-4, and I wasn't early in CB...

My bad. The 2nd LRMageddon this year.

What I read in the OP:
My hill humping PPC boat can't camp anymore...
I haven't figured out how to mitigate the LRMs yet...

LRMs are just no fun!

-----------------------
What is actually happening..

MATCHES ARE ********* MOVING AGAIN.
LRMs need flight path fixed, that's fine with me.

But since LRMs have come back into the picture.. I haven't seen a camping match yet!

rewind to monday-

March up to your picket line, prance around waiting for the PPC boats to make a mistake, and hope it was the other team's mistake.

fastforward to today-
as of last night, people are having to move in order to break locks and not be where the missiles land, they're using flanking maneuvers and harassment to get close..

Missile mechs are supporting brawlers..,scouts... are scouting... (I remember seeing a Jenner go behind enemy lines and stand on a pillar to sight for us... I was so proud.)

----------------------------------
Bottom line is:
Since the patch, there has been more movement in a days worth of matches, then there there was in all of last week.

If that is what you read in my original statement, I would advise you to take a refresher course on reading comprehension. The thread is from the point of view of PLAYING an LRM boat, and finding it to be so easy as not to be fun. I have no real sniper builds (my DDC is KINDA a sniper, atm, but I rarely play it).

I'm having fun. BTW for all you folks complaining - even when the splash damage and arc is "fixed" - LRM's are still going to be a feature on the battlefield, get used to it.

Good. That would mean they have a role, but are not easy mode.

Check out the side of the volcano for high cover in Caustic Valley, instead of going to the volcano :D

Nope. I was even killing peeps behind the 3 line ridge, and the eastern ridge (near kappa). There is nowhere to hide on that map and actually advance into battle.

When 1 salvo is 55 missiles you certainly can.

Or you can let them come to you, as long as the spotter is dealt with, there would be no LRM behind cover :D Bring some long range weapon and fire on the LRM boat if it attempt to spot.

If enemies closing in with LRM support then that is a good team ;)

Umm, no. Exploiting a broken mechanic =/= brilliant strategy.

And that is an acknowledged problem, LRM's are "a bit much" right now, for the very reasons they stated. Now, will the fix to that nerf them or not be enough? We'll see.

Just countering the idea that they are win-buttons right now.

Sun Tzu has a section for use of spy, if that is not an exploit well, I don't know ;)

Thank you, thank you .... The truth comes out ... the REAL issue, is the same as the PPC poptarts ... Boating.

My "balanced" Treb does ok, and yet, is not OP by any means. 1x lrm 10, 1x lrm 15, ams, and 4x mlas. I can play at a distance, or up close, and still be effective.

Idea: boat SSRM launchers and ERPPCs, hide behind cover, wait for the spotters to show up, kill them, then kill their fragile missile boats on the back of the line. ;)

Lol, my cent's aren't "rebuilt" yet, to handle more missles. lrm 5's are harassment weappons to keep poptarts down long enough to close in ;)
