Green Light Approved!
Dust-off ETA @ 10AM PDT / 01PM EDT 24/05/2013

LRM flight path has had it's drop point moved back along the path by 23% when using indirect firing. Splash damage drastically reduced. Damage per missile and all other aspects have not been changed.

The flight path change makes it so that when you have indirect firing capabilities, the missiles don't come down at 80'ish degrees. They now come down between 60-70 degrees allowing you to take cover much easier. Stay out in the open and you're still going to feel the pain.

CHANGE LIST
Gameplay:
-Changes to Missile damage and spread.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where some users were crashing after loading a map
- Added more server side logging to help track down why certain people are being disconnected midgame.

You guys should probably piggyback more fixes onto server sale updates like this. It'd go a long way toward alleviating the pattern of people downloading the new patch, finding something horribly wrong, and going "welp, not playing for the next two weeks I guess."

The damage and spread is not the problem, the arc is (concerning LRMs).

As for Streaks, the problem is that you have the target locations too close to the CT and the splash damage radius too wide.

The problem isn't damage, it's the divebombing behavior. Changing missile damage is only sugarcoating the issue.

Edit: After reading Paul's post, I'm happy for the changes.

Uh, WHAT?

Damage and spread actually made LRMs competitive damage-dealers, it's the insane nearly-impossible-to-dodge arc that made it ridiculous.

so my bet is, youre going to nerf missles to uselessness again.
Although the flight path was a little bit to good, it didnt felt overpowererd much. I didnt die once to LRM only in the past 100 games.

hmm. TH problem wasnt the spread it was the trajectory the missiles take they go to high an come strait down so even tall buildings dont block them. IE: River City in the upper half where KAPPA would be.

Thank you. That seemed to be the exact issue, with the spread having to do with he excess CT dmg(á la streaks).

Btw I like the forum BG change, its brighter and less depressing.

This. I don't use them but LRMs seemed fine to me from the receiving end.
when I get killed, its usually an AC, Gauss or PPC shot where it hurts.
