SRMs seem nerfed further than they were before. I haven't tried LBX yet, but for mediums... I see enough Cent shields for scouting or tanking... so but the SRM nerfs are probably hurting them the most.

In any case, the subforum needs to be renamed "Game Imbalances" because, every change is a new imbalance (too weak or too strong). There is simply no middle ground.

Which is why Connor had us doing this long before the patch, even in 8man when ECM will still around you needed fast tracking weapons and DDC's.

Now its just A1 deathballs.

stop by our vent and discuss things, no one is on at the moment but afternoon primetime Kong will be active again.

We mainly had a huge upswing because of Kongkast.

I cannot actually participate. Last patch (or possibly my video card upgrade) gave me crashing issues, unfortunately. 80% of my matches end in hard-crash, CTD, or video-freeze.

Of course, if there's one thing that makes me not regret being unable to play, it's reading the forums :)

Nowadays ECM isn't much of an issue anymore. There are so many PPC snipers that enemy ECM can usually be disabled just before LRM volleys, Streaks are no longer vulnerable to ECM because of BAP, and the movement hiding effect is nullified by 400m Adv. Seismic Range.

There sure is a lot of ammo being carried. On top of that streaks are limited in both range and the mobility of the user to getting into range.

Reminds me of the good times during MPBT Solaris once all locations were legitimate target locations, especially against cats/marauders, either leg to restrict mobility or take the ears for weapons.

Just saying, especially since this is in the 8-man queue.

Heck, ditch a ton of streak ammo (only 4 tons for 4 launchers rather than 5) and it frees up a ton and a crit, enough to add another heatsink so you're only down 2.

The problem lies in with torso twisting, speed, JJ's and arm streaks for maximum reach.

You could in theory land some lucky hits on CT and follow up with streaks, but you're going to be having lots of trouble tracking and shooting.

I'd like to see it still.

Yes, I could see those items being an issue. I don't believe landing 16 ERPPC's focused onto one target is a problem or would require luck. After all I'm a Jade Wolf, it's what we do ;P

I know the group of cats would engage the group of highlanders. The map will play a huge factor. The only question is how many cats will make it to the highlanders and in what condition. The cats will more than likely engage the highlanders with down or heavily damaged pilots again map would be key.

No doubt it would be a good match to watch.

Lights can move out side of sensor and weapon range? NOOO FAIIIR!!!!!! Far be it for any one to think, in a thinking man's shooter.

I think you miss the signs telling you the game isn't about camping when lights keep getting behind you and out capping you in general

I guess when your idea of strategy is to W+m1 till you win, a place like Alpine peaks that takes communication, a diverse team of mechs in different classes to fill different roles, and the ability to change strats on the fly if something doesn't work is a horrible map.

Better to play on Forest Colony where you can take 10 steps out of your base and already get kills from LRM/PPC/Gauss spaming.

I wish my 4 man encountered this group, we would probably see nothing but A1 streak cats and then blow off your racks, honestly 150m streaks on a slow CAT don't really scare me what scares me is 6 of them with some LRM boats, thats what scares me.

I highly doubt this,

not even the goons or leddit or blackwidownz could do anything about us.

the closest match was against leddit and they stacked ECM and as soon as one mech got close all the ECM was carpeted by BAP.

hate to be a stickler but this isn't true... you did loose twice that we know of.

I'd be interested to see this made fool-proof; saying 'we'll base camp' or 'leave a mech behind' doesn't cut it as proof. Base camp means you could get TAG/NARCed and LRMed to blazes and who knows what will happen if you're not working as a full 8 man Streak-blob?

If it's really the ubermechs please do it again with all contingencies covered(not a troll, I want to see if this works).
