for the OCZ 700W PSU,8GB Kingston 1600MHz RAM and 500GB Seagate HDD, I just got to buy the guy a 24 of bear, he drinks Brava and according to the bear store website, it's on sale for $29.95 + Tax would be ~$33.84
he also said that the Cooler Master Hyper 212 will fit the AM3+ Socket, I would just need some Thermal Paste though but he might have some.

Brava? He must be a drunk or has broken parts to be parting with them for a 24 case of beer. Buyer beware I guess but its only 30 bucks so...

Wow, go get some beer! :D (price is nice but you still need to get the rest ;) )
I don't know the cooler master hyper 212 ... but I guess its better than any boxed cooler.

Did you tell the FX4100-guy that their is another one offering stuff too? I would play them cards open :D

Could be they just have things left over. People who build PCs allot will often have components they dont need anymore and will just rot. I have an old Cyrix CPU, my first HD over 1gb and an old pentium 2 celeron processor. Not to mention really old cases and PSUs haha. So its all good man there are generous people in the world too.

I'm not a drunk, Two kids in diapers ($ 120/mo) you have to save money where you can, unfortunately it comes out of the beer fund :D , And yes I'm one of the people trying to help him get up an running.

Was more satire than serious friend. More explained why people have extra stuff lying around in my post above yours, and thank you for being a generous person to help out.

I wasn't taking you serious, No harm no foul its all good. things said just lack tone when you type it instead of saying it. as to why i have the parts is pretty much the reason you stated above. you build a computer then realize you want to add to it and the store wont take the old parts from you and the dumps here charge you to take e-waste.

well I would rather pick up everything a week or less of the build and i'm not 100% of when that is yet.
I replied to a few Cases on Kijiji, I only got a reply back from this one yet:
Antec p180 computer case with thermaltake powersupply: http://kitchener.kij...QAdIdZ472426868
I was told it's been up for a long time so I could have it for $30 on pick up and the PSU is part of the case so I won't have to pick up another one if I don't want to. I Replied and asked for the Wattage of the PSU,waiting for a Reply back.
Edit: The one selling it thinks it's a 750W, but she's not sure, her husband is the builder so i'd have to ask him to be sure and he's at work till 6PM. she gave me the address with apartment number and buzz code and her cell phone number so I can send her a text before I leave to make sure someone's home.

Again i can only advise that u save up more money so that u can forgo all this hassle and risk of buying second hand old parts from random people and places.

$800 isnt much and will build a strong rig. As i showed in my previose post, u can infact build for slightly less than £800.
But $400-$500 is just to tight.

Find out what make the power supply is. most people cheep out on their power supply and it ends up cooking their componets. also find out how old the power supply is. This is a make it or break it componet

should be a thermaltake PSU, I asked her to ask to make sure the wattage cause she wasn't sure and i also asked to find out how old it is.
Edit: just got a reply back about the Wattage and it's a 550W
Edit 2: Just got a reply about the PSU Age, it's 2 Years Old, used over 1 and been in closet for a few months now.

before I decided to build my own computer, I posted a wanted ad for a Gaming computer for $200-330:
http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sel...Z484841672

anyway, I got a reply to the ad and someone offered me this computer:
http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sel...Z478425277

He would be willing to take $40 off which is what I would need to upgrade memory and HDD (So he says), There are lots of empty slots.

Checking out Canada Computers for Mobo Deals this month, the cheapest SATA 3 AM3+ Mobo is a ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Socket for $79 after $10 MIR till June 30th: http://www.canadacom...&item_id=051994
SATA 2 AM3+, cheapest would be a ASRock N68-VS3 FX for $45 but instore purchase only due to low stock Levels and on clearance but local store got none: http://www.canadacom...&item_id=045636 , so next cheapest would be a ASRock N68C-GS FX on sale for $52 after $10 MIR, special order only and no stock in my local store: http://www.canadacom...&item_id=048369
3rd Cheapest would be a ASUS M5A78L-M LX for $60 and in Stock: http://www.canadacom...&item_id=042789 . only $19 difference so I would rather get the SATA 3 AM3+

Don't do it. The only things you can use are the PSU, DVD player, and Case all of which can be bought for way less than that.

replied back with this:

Quote

sorry to break it to you but that's just a bunch of old outdated Junk in my opinion, not only would the RAM need to be replaced but the Mobo and GPU would need to be Upgraded being SO out of date, and I might as well replace the CPU and HDD While i'm at it. I could make something myself a hell of a lot better than that for $300-400.

no retort from him yet

Hey Letto I just wanted to give you some info:

My old system: overclock q6600 quad core 2 duo at 3.6gig with 4 gig ram DDR with SSD and a GTX 460 runs Mwo at 1920x1080 with settings at low at:

40 fps

Ya... that's it...

So that's why myself and others were saying... saving up a bit more... getting an i5.. overclocking it to 4.5 - 5ghz plus a 560+ video card will cost you 200$ more but you'll get 1920x1080 at high settings at 60-80fps...

huge difference in playability and it's more future proof!

Good luck!! Looking forward to hearing what you get!!

I echo anybody's advice that poo-poos the 520 gpu. The crytek engine will make both the video card and you cry.

I recommend scouting out your friends for as many excess components as possible in order to get a better CPU, GPU and MOBO. I suspect you may be able to gather a decent case, a used 250 sata HDD, excess case fans and cables, maybe even a GTX460. I also recommend a minimum 600W psu. I use a 750W thermaltake running an FX-4100 and GTX 560 SC, both with after market cooling.

*Facepalm*
AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz Quad Core with unlocked clock speed for possible overclock!
EVGA Nvidia GTX 560 Ti 2 GB!
700W OCZ PSU! (Unknown age)
Plus 2 500GB SATA HHD (one seagate unknown specs, 1 2.5" whatever's in my Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and FSX, MWO and other games I would like to play already installed)
Antec P180 Case with 2 Year old 550W Thermaltake PSU (Could sell PSU for spare $ and just use the Case)

I would be happy playing MWO on low settings with 30FPS as long as it's smooth, not choppy/laggy or missing textures like frozen city sometimes!
