Until I can get a WVR-8K I'll take a Grand Dragon... I probably won't live long anyway so I may as well go for something with tissue paper armor and an XLFE right? :)

I see a number of clan mechs but I think they won't be in the game (yet) when it launches as I've read that its set in a short period before the clan invasion.

I'm a fan of medium and heavy battlemechs as well and would happily pilot mechs like the Argus, Dragon, Avatar etc or mediums like Centurion or Assassin.

I'm a fan of some of the mediums and lighter heavies, myself. Shadowcat is a favorite in the pods, I'll have to see what we have to work with here in MW:O
I wouldn't mind one of the broken Firestorm beta Cougar loadouts... Rear mounted gauss cannon makes for a nice surprise :)

And for any MechCorps pilots here: GO TEAM SHADOWCAT!

I always tended to stick in the 60-85t range, no doubt I will find myself there in this game too. Dragons, Orions, Warhawks and such.

It sounds like this game will have a lot in common with World of Tanks... if this is the case, then there is plenty of reason to cruise around in something other than an assault mech.

I generally use heavies (summoner mech pilot myself), they have more mobility than assaults, but still have the firepower.

If they get the weight balance as good as they say they will (And I have faith) I really am going to be torn between piloting a speedy scout 'mech trying to stay alive and relay info, or an Atlas breaking things.

I wonder how they'll differentiate mediums and heavies though. It seems to me the best idea would be go all the way or go home.

I like the maneuverability of the smaller (under 50 ton) mechs. Medium mechs have the best mix of weapons/armor and speed.

Gimme my beloved Warhammer any day. Failing that, a Hunchie, Enforcer or Griffin will do. Failing that, gimme a Wolfhound or a Panther. Or the comedy option: Urbie.

The only Mech above the Wammy in weight that I could get behind using regularily would be either an Awesome (I like Zombie-Mechs.) or, more likely, a Victor. (Because how could you say no to 80 tons of jump-capable Mech with an AC/20?)

I remember in MW2 I would pilot a Nova / Blackhawk as often as possible. Loaded it with lasers and heatsinks and let the lasers fly non-stop. In MW3 I liked my Mad Cat loaded with lasers and heatsinks with a couple PPCs for good measure :) I like the maneuverability of the lighter mechs.

Depending on the balances, back in the day I was an evil, evil man in the Jenner. We will see if it still holds.

I actually prefer a fast medium to an assualt mech anyday. I remember this one time in Mechwarrior 4: Mercs that I accidentally selected a cougar in a Solaris VII bout, and well I won by running and gunning like ****. Probably the most fun that I ever had in a Battletech video game.

i would love to either pilot a Hollander or a Bushwhacker, the Hollander for its HOLYS**T factor and the Bushwhacker for its versatility.

I spent most of my time in MW4 piloting mechs under ~75 tuns, and in MWLL I'm usually in a medium unless I'm in a Warhammer or jet fighter. Probably going to stick with mediums or light heavies in MWO.
