I fail to understand the whingers. Two super variants in there, and possibly the hunchback too. If you were thinking of buying them already with MC then this is a great deal. If you weren't it might tempt you. If you already have them - move along.

why the QQ?

It looks like these sales work, because I see them very often. I also guess that potential buyers are trial-mech users new to the game that instead of grinding just take on the sale to instantly buy that specific trial mech. I get it for the new players or for rich players that just throw money here and there without suffering of the global crysis.

Without whining however, I'd like to know how effective this sale is. Compared to premium time discounts, hero mech discounts or MC sales. There are many that are awaiting some MC offers rather than this, it's what, more than 6 months without an MC discount?

I think it's a given the value sales (MC, XP conversion, colors & camo etc..) are extremely successful. For that very reason, is why they typically are offered only periodically, where these trial sales are essentially bumper / filler sales to placate niche player needs and to fill non-value content slots.

That said... I doubt they would have these filler sales if they did not benefit from them in the least.

These trial sales are like the milk sales at gas stations... Milk is always on sale, not everyone buying gas wants or needs milk but the fact that it's on always seen on sale adds perceived value to it and encourages return visits.

Not participating in the "sale" should / is meaningful enough... The sardonic commentary regarding the value of the sale is neither meaningful nor beneficial...

I can tell you have never run a business, or helped in running a business ...

Standing in front of the counter at Burger King, turning to the other patrons and exclaiming loudly that the Whopper is over-priced and the kids-meal toy is not of sufficient quality is not exercising consumerism...[redacted]

Speaking of [redacted] people that compares apples to oranges pretty much fall into that category.

Your comparison is an not even an orange .. it's more like a lemon.

Electing not to eat at Burger King is exercising consumerism...

That is only 1 part of consumerism ... WORD OF MOUTH is a huge part of consumerism. Facebook / Social Media is evidence that WORD OF MOUTH is probably a bigger part of consumerism then actually not opening your wallet.

Read my OP on the first page about this sale ... that *is* consumerism.

What are you doing? Your more like the petulant child that doesn't care his happy meal has a sub-standard toy that is worthless ... he just wants the toy regardless of what the mature / reasonable parent wants to do (like go buy him a real toy).

Now you know the difference between a child making emotional decisions and true consumerism. It's your wallet and your endorsement (or lack there of).

Hero Mech Sale
MC Sale
Premium Time Sale
GXP Conversion Sale
75% off Color Sales
75% off Cammo Sales

That's about the list of sales that value minded buyers want.

+1 to the above. Maybe next time.

Edit: The sale mechs can be earned in the game with C-Bills, perhaps a C-Bill reduction on stock mechs and MC reduction on Premium mechs in future as one of your options for specials? As it stands I personally don't see the value in buying a stock mech for MC when sooner or later I can buy it with C-Bills.

No ... we are giving meaningful feed back. Something your post does not do. It's a terrible sale, we are saying it's a terrible sale.

I *am* the consumer, I have disposable income, I am telling PGI what it needs to do for me to give them money. That is not QQ, that is how consumerism works ... that is how capitalism works ... the CONSUMER is king.

I can understand how you, and others, would rather be a sheep and just walk through and get sheered every so often. What makes me sad is the realization that sheep like you benefit from my Consumerism and yet you don't even realize it ... and worse? you are actively trying to defeat consumerism, which ends up only hurting yourself.

That is what is sad ... not consumers actively telling a company which products they want to buy and at which price point they are willing to buy them.

You are like the person who says "the customer is always right"

Only a [redacted] truly believes this.

And nothing stated in this thread has been constructive in anyway and my post still stand.

In fact your post only proves me right [redacted]

As far as I can tell, all three mechs on sale are solid mechs. Yes, you can buy them with C-bills. But if you don't have the time to grind it's not unthinkable to pick them up half-off. I'm actually torn between getting the jager and highlander or saving my MCs for a hero mech.

I would like to remind everyone to act appropriately regardless of which side of the fence you are on. You can post your opinions in a manner which displays your thoughts on the sales without resorting to calling people morons, douches or whiny kids.

PGI / IGP support feedback on their sales, which is why they leave these posts OPEN for people to submit feedback. Attacking them will not push your agenda, or personal needs, any further than the report function.

Please, play nice, voice your opinion and then buy something or wait until the next sale comes along that you want something from!

I'd say the the trial mechs that people have had the worst experience in would have the least sales, even if it rakes in the most dough.

If I wanted to name all the bad mechs that were listed as trial mechs, it would just be repeating all bad stock mech designs. One of the previous ones was the Atlas-K.. where side coring them was easy, and would probably not keep you interested in wanting to acquire a "fragile mech", when the problem was solely with the XL engine (although the hardpoints is the primary issue, but that's directly related to LRM supremacy).

I'm sure if I look hard enough, I could figure out other bad mechs that would be terrible trial mechs that would be not be considered when they are on sale (I think the Commando-3A was a trial mech too).

Why stop there. I can see a couple of people who would benefit from 24 hours cooling their jump jets.

Personally, I would never pay real money for a C Bill mech. However I appreciate the sale is useful for people who do not have a lot of hours to grind C Bills.

I have everyone of these mechs and they are all gold.

Personally I think the Highlander and Jagger are the best variants of their chassis type, and the Hunchback (while perhaps not quite as competitive) is still a damn fine and good fun mech.
