So basically, the 4H and 4G are the same? Sarna says, it changes rear facing with front facing weapons. and all rear is in front in MWO so we get identical Hardpoints on two variant?

My guess would be different number in AMS or Module slots with some rotation quirks...

Quickdraw 4G has 4 medium lasers. 2 of these lasers are rear mounted and the balance are in the arms. How is PGI going to be handling the rear mounted weapons?

I believe that the real reason that the Orion was pushed back for the Quickdraw, is because the Quickdraw uses nearly the same model as the Highlander, so it was probably much easier to get done.

no matter the reason (and i believe in the lower tonnage meta) they aren't going to come out and explain it otherwise trolls will do the exact opposite, simply to prove em wrong.

These are the pictures of the mech now available:

Looks to me as if the 5K is not following a canon design. I see 6 Laser slots 4 missile tubes.

The 4G and 4H might still end up differing in hard points in some manner. Say, one has 4 missile hard points and 4 energy hard points, the other 2 missile hard points and 6 energy hard points.

No, the 5K is a canon variant. It's a DHS + FF upgrade of the 5A, which replaces the LRM10 with 2 medium lasers.

I was a little confused as well. But it seems alright. The 5K "carries the same weaponry as the 5A model". On the 5A the "LRM-10 launcher has been removed and in its place two more forward-firing Medium Lasers have been added".

This is probably the worst and boring looking mech in the game. I hope they won't mess up the Victor or Orion. PGI tell your modellers to take careful loook at the excellent artworks.

Good job, PGI.. You finally managed to make a mech look similar to it's concept art. This one is at least 85% accurate from my observations. :)

Was disheartened after the fugly highlander appeared nothing like it's amazing concept art.

As far as I see it, the Quickdraw looks just like that "fugly highlander" with just a different head and feet.

I am going to steer clear of the Quickdraw specialy since it will share the same issue the highlander has the CT being the biggest part that get cored the most(I am a highlander pilot, and this thing will have less CT armour by far than my beloved 733C), also the cockpit will be shot out more than a Centurion or a Catapult. the arms look as low or lower than a Cataphract. I don't want to be negitive but it will have the same Stigma as the Dragon, its a oversized Medium with a big CT.

Guys, remember that:

1) Mug shots from website's "battlemechs" section always looks crappier than actual model.

2) So does monthly shot on site's splash page

I'll wait with my opinion until I see it in motion, on different settings, with different painjobs, relative to other mechs size/movement etc.

Except in the hands of a good pilot, the Dragon is truly a mech to be feared. I remember killing you a few times in it actually Vagabond. :)

Based on the two "reasons" we were given, the "meta change" reason and then, I believe it was Alex who said something on the lines, that quickdraw was next on his list to complete. I think someone goofed up the order internally when giving it to Alex to do the work and they didn't realize the error until it was too late. So they gave us the "meta" excuse which makes no sense at all. The 75T can't be avoided forever, it'll **** people off. It just won't happen, to leave it empty. In the case of the Flea they were very upfront and said the delay was due to MASC not being completed. The Orion they've been shifty and hush hush about, that tells me the screwed up and they know it but don't want to admit it.

Ummm, The Orion artwork has been available since December and on these sub forums still. How long do you think the "goofed up" should have lasted? Also, looking at the in game screenshot now, don't you think it looks like a squat Highlander which came out 2 months ago?

Come on 4G or 4H, have 4 energy hardpoints in the arms. 4xLL + jumpjets FTW.

I think the model of the Quickdraw looks better than the concept art. :)

I like the looks of it very much, enough to cause me to reinstall this game and go for a few rides in it.

Till I realize the game-play still sucks @$$ and ECM is still 'tarded beyond belief...sad.

But to stay on the positive side of things...nice touches here and there like the "intake" on the top left of cockpit, what appear to be targeting sensors/artemis above the CT SRM-4, the antennae, the hands...looks good in standard colors too.

Nicely done.

Could have a faster and more armoured HBK-4SP, with jumps and extra weapons! (I prefer the 4J myself with the extra laser). I'm surprised this doesn't seem popular!

You'd be surprised how many people use BAP now that it counters within a range, and effects of ECM have been altered slightly for the better regarding radars and intel.

The story is a chessey spaghetti western knock off meant to be a play on the name Quickdraw. I can't delieve people are taking it so seriously. It's not a excerpt from the next great Battletech novel.

Still sounds OP. I have to mount certain weapons or equipment to counter-act its OP'dness for 4 seconds or within a certain range bracket...lame. I, like many, would prefer it obey the original rules. Hell, it could even cut COMMs or make them static-filled or inaudible some way like it did in the novels. But completely inhibiting lock-ons for certain types of weps and hiding whole groups of mechs is just ridiculous.

It's not just the tardeness of ECM, MWO is BORING unfortunately. New maps + same mission types = BORING.

Getting off topic... Still, just the looks of the in-game Quickdraw is enough for me to temporarily install MWO again.
