I decided to take a more balanced, tabletop- style approach:
qkd-4g - support
With nearly full armor, and 16 DHS it really has enaugh heat efficiency. I am yet to decide, if I should change PPC to standard or large pulse - CTP-1X was doing amazingly good with 2mpl 1lpl and lbx-ac10 (inspired by Omen, a 85 ton assault). Its only flaw is extramly expansive xl300 engine.

Nope. Order had nothing to do with it, installed the 15 first and it's still bonkers (the salvos go 15, 10, 5 or 15, 5, 5 btw). It just seems as though for the first salvo, the tube situation is all well and good... after that though, it goes with some kind of logical gymnastics that I can't fathom. It would be nice to get a dev or someone to comment on this (hint, hint).

Well dangit. Here I thought I had it figured out. Oh well, at least I can make it work right for the first volly

I just picked up a 5K because I was getting bored with my Dragon Slayer. I'm running this build:

XL360
6 MLs
Max JJs
Endo, 19 DHS

So far, this thing is surprisingly good. Better than I expected.

I believe there is an Ask The Devs in which they state that they're aware of how obnoxious this issue is, but it hasn't made it to the top of their "fix list" yet.

Is anyone else here thinking that the QKD-4G is outclassed by the other variants? 2 additional JJs for the price of 1 Missile hardpoint. I don't see how 2 JJs can make this mech work unless it wants to jump really high and be a PPC poptart. (QKD-5K is better I believe)

Well, if you're only going to fit two missile systems (like, say, this -4H build mentioned in the third post by Deathfox619, or this -4H build by Tarzilman in the post above) then the -4G is substantially better. It turns quicker, twists further and twists faster than the -4H. To make the -4H better than the -4G, you need to have something in mind to do with a 4+10+5 missile configuration that you couldn't do with a 4+10.

I was cautiously looking forward to the Quickdraw with this last patch - and while the XP grind was painful at times, I think it was definitely worth the effort. The 4H makes a great CQ brawler. I'm running mine with 4MLs, 2SRM6s, SRM4 on a standard 305 engine and it's a blast to play. It's surprisingly durable, it punches fairly well, and it gives you a lot of options with the extra mobility you get from the jump jet(s). Only real negative I can offer on my loadout is that it's a very tight fit. I was only able to pack 14DHS on it, and that made grinding the XP up to doubled efficiencies tough. It's just not super heat-efficient (1.25HE). Now with the mech fully elited though, the heat is much less of an issue.

Yes... It's essentially a bloated HBK-4SP. But as someone that runs in medium "gank packs" pretty frequently, I don't see anything wrong with that :)

I'm running a variant of your build:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0a765e38b7f2d23

I don't mind brawling with an XL engine, and I find I need all the JJ height I can get with the new climbing nerf.

This:
QKD-5K - Cheesy Sin
I know, for this I'll burn in special place of hell for those who flout on BT canon... But it works well in current state of gameplay balance. :)

Opted for 2 LL, 2 Medlas, 3 streak and XL 335. With the pilot unlock will top 100k, so its a fast flanker/light hunter with a lot of armor!

No I'll try this one: QKD-4H
And maybe I'll change the MPL's with normal ML's for giving it a faster Enginge: QKD-4H

But the difference is not very big, I don't know, if it's useful.

I picked up a 4G to get the basics. Kinda hard to figure out. I'm running this with average results:

XL340
2 ERPPCs
2 streaks
5 JJs

I think I'm only gonna keep the 5K though. I really don't like the 4H or 4G much.

QKD-4G

My QKD-4G build, as a CDA-3M vet. After starting as a Hunchback pilot, I was spoiled by speed and now I don't want to give it up, thus the QD...

QKD-5K

My QKD-5K, more fun.

Thanks guys. I really had a hard time finding the right build for my 4H. There are some nice builds in this thread that lead me to this for me: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4e631a13add916a

It runs a bit hot and I am thinking to remove one SSRM, but so far I had a few very good matches with it. Oh and the leg armor is a bit weak.

Highly recommended that you don't skimp on leg armor in a QKD if you can help it. They're by far the easiest target on the chassis and catch a ton of fire--especially if you're jumping around.

Yeah, got already legged thrice! Have to shift some armour around...

Been running this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...df77f46300e38a4

Played as a close support for your main assaults, chain fire and poke with the LLs and spam the SRMs whenever your target is in range. Could always drop one of the DHS for an extra ton of ammo, but i prefer being able to chain those LLs for longer :)

Anyone have any suggestions for an XL 360 build? I have the need for speed.

I know the QKD doesn't have the armor to brawl, so it needs long-range options. That probably means either large lasers and SRMs or medium lasers and LRMs, no?

EDIT:

For example:

QKD-4G

QKD-4H
