This right here is an outright lie. Goonswarm had blamed more losses on their own drunken fcs than any other thing.

I think he means goonswarms supposed (i don't know from personal experience, again, just seems to be what people say) tendency to grief all those around them, whether their supposed to be on the same team or not. Although I think i saw someone post about how their good to allies so idk.

you do know you can go read their forums as well, they are prety careful but even then little bits slip out. This example is from their forums;
"I'm surpised nobody has leaked much more than a sentance about the plans for Word of Lowtax.
I just want to remind people that games is public, so keep all talk of our plan in the hidden forum. It'll be tough enough to coordinate as it is.

Posted Image edit: Sorry, forgot I wasn't supposed to mention the name."

It's a troll fest that's for certain, you should check out their comments here http://forums.someth...&pagenumber=172 this is page 172 but if you go a few pages either side there is lots to read.

Anyways, this thread is boring now so I'll be moving along.

You arent the brightest are you? Here, have this ball

Sorry, but my personal experience wasn't a lie. This was a match (not an EVE battle), where a Goon contingent lost, and then proclaimed in chat that the rest of their team was incapable.

..... I think this clown is serious?

So by that statement, they attack others alongside themselves. If that is true, it seems like a pigsty. Everyone is covered in feces.

I'm not sure what you gentlemen are trying to debate. You say goons are griefers; they are. You say they scam and are ruthless in EVE; you say that they spy and metagame. Absolutely true. You say that laugh at 'honor' in internet robot, tank, or spaceship games - and it's true (as it is nothing more than thinly-veiled hypocrisy). You say that goons are ruthless and enjoy winning; we do. You say that goons don't take roleplaying seriously; we don't. We also abhor furries and bronies.

But that is not what upsets pubbies, though any of these individual "wrongs" are cited at any given moment. What actually makes pubbies angry is that goons don't care what non-goons think and are flagrant about it.

We have a massive community of our own, with its own culture. The condemnation of outsiders means nothing to us except as a vehicle for comedy, because it's not like we'll be grouping up with random publords anyway (pubbies hate winning) This is the reason why this thread is at 15 pages and growing: you are angry at goons, not because they 'misbehave', but because they are not bound by the social mores of whatever culture you happen to hail from - on this subforum, a ~serious roleplay~ culture - and that the common goon doesn't react to your chastisement in the way you expect (apology and conformity) and instead just laughs and makes a joke about robots.

I hope that this helps create peace and understanding between our cultures!

So you just have a tendency to rub people the wrong way? The stance of "We don't care about the rest of the Capellan Confederation" is what worries people who want a strong united faction community.

. If this is a false perception of just a few individuals, I would love to see Goonswarm members acting with grace and respect. Anyone is capable of it.

The discussion of internet robots (and rainbows) for some reason reminds me of http://youtu.be/zjMFYAdvHJc

Also, anyone who would listen to 'it's a game, don't get your knickers in a knot' comments already knows that, so I don't see why people still bother saying it.

By the statement that "Goons don't care what non-goons think," one would imagine they care about nothing but themselves.

So what is the problem here, that the goon contingent ratted out the fact their team was full of morons?

Such is a fantastic example of the attitude detailed.

That in itself is fine, communities must look out for their own, what i'm wondering about is their involvement in THIS game and THIS faction. Most people seem to either hate them or have confused opinions based on rumors. I find it hard to believe they go out of their way to grief other players who are undeserved of it.

Are they even adequate judges of those deserved of it?

We are keenly interested in helping our comrades improve themselves, sometimes that means explaining that they have room for improvement.

Ahh yes, a fine statement of vintage troll. A loss generally suggests that one has room for improvement, yes?

Oh no, an accusation of selfishness, to go along with the other accusations. I'll just put that in the bin here and begin to care eventually.

And so goes another statement of not caring, yet another tired thing, pulled out whenever one can't find something more adequate. As for an accusation of selfishness, I am merely reflecting on your own words.

There is a difference between griefing newbs and actually giving them some pointers, if the newbs proceed to trash talk after giving them actual pointers on how they suck (and give it in as nice a way as possible cause whoever raised you should have taught you manners and just cause your on the web and not face to face is no reason to throw manners out the window.) Then you can demote them to noobs and mess with them to a reasonable degree.

I'm not sure I like these Goon guys.

They most post and usually ask spurious and ridiculous questions in reply to comments. They are all laughing at some inside joke, and they think they are funnier than I am. Especially this "The Mittani" guy.

The only other guy to use "The" in his name was "The Situation", and honestly I don't think that is working out too well for him overall.

They sound too much like me, so I suspect we are going to have "issues".

Respectfully,

The Festus
