So... Goonswarm in the Capellan Confederation?

regardless, Goon is powerful in EVE because there is no system of balance in place. Space is very unfair and unforgiving - knowing this, bring LOTS if not ALL of your friends to the fight. Goon does this.

Then why did you answer: "You have no idea what you're talking about." previously?
It was true and it is still a signature of your goonswarm, it doesn't matter if it changed. If you call something a Goonswarm, you named yourself: "A bunch of people swarming others with inferior equip, but higher numbers." If you don't like people looking at you like that, then change the name, otherwise you're just trying to leech success of your predecessors.
Oh, and you've got no idea what you're talking about regarding: "Internet robot games: serious business."
Battlemechs are not robots, go back to school, or find a dictionary. Robot does things by himself (programmed), while the mech is the same as a tank, it just walks and has some few other minor details different.

You have almost 3800 posts. The mind recoils in horror.

Goons are like insects... like the disease.
Hey Mittani, what about tell us about greatest goon victory in EVE ever?
Yes, I mean the BoB incident in 2009. Tell to everyone here, how you won the war agains BoB - it's very interesting story... (that year many players leave EVE, not because they lost against goons... but because how goons won).

@ Phantomime : No matter how much friends you bring, how much dreads, Motherships and Big F*cking Guns you have, the Goons will at least bring three dozen more and blast you out of space. Neither Ev0ke nor Bricksquad is big enough to seriously sratch the goons Territory.

Comes with being here from the day 1 and posting from the 2nd.
Also, you're a leader of an EVE Online corporation. That estimates a lot of time spent in a game that is one of the longest MMOs out there (nothing against EVE, so don't make me go into details).

You should spend more time worrying about how the combo would make FedSun life terrible

I'd be delighted to:

However, 2009 was a long time ago. We've since killed BoB respawns a couple of times (IT, Raidendot) and control the western half of the galaxy, which is probably a bigger deal than the BoB disband. Not to mention the OTEC cartel.
Hope this helps!

Internet spaceship games are pretty serious too, we can't wait to try out internet robots! We think it'll be a great fit.

I think you should change your terms of business. Don´t you think that the "I wanna rule ´em all" thing is used enough ?
And ... if you want to get rid of your pretty bad image, that would help a LOT.

Actually I think the BoB disband is the most important event in EVE ever.
btw: no BoB respawn has ever chance agains you...

Additionally, pretty much everyone but Adridos has acted reasonably when dealing with the Goons who have spoke up as well.
It really does make me curious what these goons did to Adridos in the past to make him so mad. I can't see him throwing out all these accusations purely on things he read rather than experienced first hand. That would be asinine.

There's not so much to dominate for them.
The community warfare is centered around minor skirmishes of houses (to stay true to the lore), so no house liao owning half the IS is going to happen (as much as it would be great) and the worlds mercs are fighting over aren' going to be so huge to make someone go and dominate them all.

Because the goons didn't start with goonswarm. You keep thinking goonswarm(Eve goons) are the same as all goons, when they are just a small subset of a much larger community.
The reason the Eve goons swarmed their opponents with hordes of cheaper ships when they first started playing was because that was the only thing they could do under the Eve skill system. It hasn't been true for years yet pubbies like you keep thinking it.
Oh and in Eve you can't change the name of your corporation/alliance, which yet another reason we say you have no idea what you're talking about.

The problem isn't in their in-game modus operandi. The problem is that they stoop to drafting Goonswarm members from other games to act as cannon fodder and sometimes use IRL espionage to gain strategic advantage. How would you like 100 batchalls per minute from teams consisting entirely from lvl 1 players on Urbies while your corp leader is being pestered by phone prankers?
P.S. Yeah, I did dramatize it a bit. A bit.

As a former Goon member in some smaller browser games [Astro Empires, Travian, Cyber Nations (or something like that), and a few others I can't remember], I have to say I played with some very nice, capable, friendly, and supportive Goons. The type of Goons who play to win at all costs, but they don't make an effort to grief anyone (except BoB). I don't think there were any that I disliked, and while I never found the eTears threads funny - I'm a just shut up and play the game type of person - most of the people ridiculed there did deserve the embarrassment. Those Goons have my utmost respect and best wishes.
On the other hand, every time I'm come across Goon in any MMO (i.e. WAR, AoC, SWTOR, etc) I always seem to find the griefer a-hole. I have never had a good dealing with them in an MMO. I've tried to talk to a few, and either was either completely ignored or instantly insulted. At least one had the honesty to say, "If you're not in Goon your not a Goon so **** off."
If we get the cordial win at all cost Goons I'm totally cool with it. If we get the griefer a-hole Goons I'll just stay clear and ignore them. Nothing, and I mean nothing will cause me to leave the Capellan Confederation. I'd leave the game before I did that.
And if it comes to Goon -vs- BoB, I choose Goon. At least they're funny.
EDIT: Quick spelling and clarification edit.
