You clearly have no Idea how to use a quad mech then. They are more stable than bipeds, and have much better firing arcs. I really hope they add quad mechs.

Yeah, like the Tarantula Quad.
2x Medium Laser + 1x Streak SRM-2 combined with 8 jumpjets, 360 degree t.twist and a max speed of 130 kp/h sounds like FUN!
Still dreaming... ;)

If a quad can do it, so can others.

So, if I shoot off 2 of their legs... is it dead? or do they just stop moving.... cuz a quad cant really move with 2 legs can it...

I think the biggest issue is that we as fanboys (and girls) don't deal well with change. Whether we come from BattleTech or MechWarrior, we're ALL in for something we've never seen before. Personally, I like the idea of full 360 degree torso twists on some mechs as an answer to a shortcoming they may have (The Vulture's depressingly low tonnage in MW4), but not to make a super-mech.

I'm just going to choose to trust that PGI knows what they're doing (They had enough sense to resurrect MechWarrior). Whether or not 360 degree torso twisting is in the game, it won't ruin it. And even if it does, PGI can quickly step in and fix it without too many hiccups (One of the beautiful things about the F2P model).

Only quads can mount turreted weapons. Also since quads don't fall over just from losing legs, if they're upright, I assume they can use jump jets to still move ;)

Why oh why oh why would you need 360 Torso Twist? 180 would have you looking back the way you came while still heading in the oposite direction. Also, to achieve a 360 twist you would need to use contact rings like they do in tanks of today and warships. The turret is dropped in and basically Gravity holds it in place. with all the punishment that a Battlemech takes, Walking/running/jumping (as oposed to driving around on tracks or sailing the oceans) Those rings would need to be replaced on a daily basis, and imagine what would happen in combat. lol 90deg left and right with arms for 20 more is fine with me. lol ;)

Uh... this is a game. battlemechs and all their science fiction componants dont even really exist..

MW4 had it, and many peole liked the added diversity. its not about whether its true to lore, or true to reality. its about making the game better.

MW4 had many things you will not find within this game. 360° torso twists are not part of the Battletech universe and will therefor most likely not be in the game. The developers have repeatedly stated that they want to stay as close to the original rules as possible.

"as possible" being the operative words here ...

if not 360 then add diversity at least 90-180 twist by mech

its another factor making mechs different from each other

360 torsos have their place as the gents before me have lined out. Whether to enhance a lacking chassis or to make up for the limitations of the tabletop game. As a frequent MW4 player (back in the days) I have to say that it does enhance the gameplay overall. It's just that 360 Mechs need to be taken more seriously at close quarters than most other Mechs. That's a big hint for you right there. The heavy hitters that are blessed with 360 torsos usually twisted their torsos rather slow, so it was perfectly balanced IMO. Arm-swing is still faster overall and sometimes better. Take if from a vet. 360 toros break the dull rhythm and add flavor. If all Mechs had a sweet spot, then it would lead to all kinds of exploits using fast Mechs to get and stay there forever.

Cheers.

Well dang, that's it guys. Good arguing but the devs have spoken.
Except, oh wait, you're not a developer and therefore have no idea what will or won't be in the final build.

No i am not a Dev, but they have said that they will make the game as close to the Tabletop as possible and that makes it no 360 degree torsotwist.

There is gonna be a lot of QQ'ing when folks realize that things in the game are different from TT battletech, despite the devs saying that they were going to try and keep in close.
