what is the formula for override damage? Is it the same? (thinking everyone will just override instead?)

They just refuse to make little balance changes.

They think this is a game where they can make a balance change every 2 months and be okay. They don't understand that in a competitive online game balance needs more attention than that. It needs to be constantly tweeked, albiet very small tweaks. Learn from league of legends.

a small heat percentage increase would nerf the PPC where they need to be. They got PPCs into this mess by reducing its heat, they can get out by increasing it. You go out the same door you come in from. You don't walk into walls or window panes, that won't get u out of the mess.

Why damage the mech only during over heating? Why not add some sort of movement and aiming penalties? If anything your new system really only makes people want to use your coolant flush gimmick more.

Personally, I'd like to see a Jager firing off dual AC20s have their arms blown off by the recoil. Maybe that's just me.

What bothers me is that I heard Russ Bullock on No Guts No Galaxy a couple of days ago and he sounded like balance is fine by him. "Yeeeeeah we are always tuning and this and that, but to me seems like the boating/alpha problem is not really a problem..." which is scary. And then, comes this patch which doesn't touch SRMs and doesn't touch Seismic.

paraphrasing or putting your interpretation of what someone said in quote marks makes it seem as though Russ Bullock said exactly what you posted... if anyone wants to hear Russ Bullock's actual words you can check that out here https://soundcloud.c...ng-podcast-0079
--specifically the time stamp from 39.04 to 41.58 which is where Russ talks about the Critical Heat system, PPCs and boating

my interpretation is that he doesn't at all think the balance is ok... and they intend on making small moves and then seeing the effects. boating or the act of shoving a bunch of one weapon type on a mech isn't the source problem... it's a symptom of being able to apply massive amounts of pinpoint alpha damage to an enemy mech in a single location, which right now happens to be in the form of using as many PPCs as you can

It is the same. It takes longer to cool down on override though.

Now something diffrent...

Where is Sarah´s Jenner? Did i miss something? Is it in the Patchnotes and i´m just blind? It was announced in the last Patchnotes for the 25th but this patch was delayed. And now???

I'm fairly certain the mech of her's is a Raven. Which if I remember correctly was her fav mech. I could be wrong, but...

120% heat damage is nice, movement change is nice. I'm glad you're working on that.

But you guys really need to increase PPC heat, seriously THERE IS NO POINT TAKING A LPL OVER A PPC. The PPC is just flatout better in every way. And lower the projectile speed (test something like 1200 m/s then up it a little if you feel its needed) , come on its the fastest thing in the game with the ac2 and the ac2 spread damage all over the place + need 2.5sec to do the same damage as a ppc + have ammo + no very heat efficient (for a ballistic).

You could consider that the heat damage is a PPC nerf but really it nerf almost every weapon.

LBX 10 still need less spread, srm are fine for me (and yes I use them).

Balance is not that bad, but it sure need some tweak.

Its me or the victor will out perform the awesome just because of JJ + better hitboxes ? Well its just a guess I need to see it ingame before making my final opinion.

Its funny you've delayed the orion to "change the meta a little", what come two week later ? A FRAKKING META HERO MECH. French have a saying that could be translated like that : the hospital laughing at charity.

I bet, most of people who are willing to spend MC for a standard chassis bought the -RS at the weekend, and sales for the new champion will be abysmal...

How many of those who waited for the sale to purchase an RS would be willing to spend double (or more) the MC for the Champion? I don't disagree with the timing being bad for the short term, but from this point forward anyone looking to spend MC on an RS will likely purchase the Champion instead.

I was one of the few that got my founders refunded because of the stupid way they are handling this game. It was my mark of anger and I have not regretted it. Here we are one month into me coming back. The game has made some progress, but as far as balance it has tanked.

Maybe if the devs actually played the game on a regular basis this issue would not be developing. Then again it is probably a good thing they dont, or else everything would be nerfed into oblivion to satisfy their ego when they lose.

News flash, the rewind system is garbage and needs more protections to stop freeze frame targeting. A little thought paints the picture of what to do, no I have not done it, I dont need to. I want to like this game, I really do. But PGI is making it damn hard with stupid decisions and a lack of information.

You know, I would be inclined to believe you if they were actually making these changes, but they aren't. For how many more months must SRMs remain completely irrelevant without even a token adjustment? Why do PPCs still dominate while having heat values that are below TT? Why have PGI sat on their hands? There have been ZERO small changes that could address the relevant problems.

Honestly, you NGNG guys appear to be the only players with whom PGI actually interacts, anymore. Perhaps you should light a fire under their *****, because current weapon balance is trash. Stop throwing them softballs.

Won't anybody think of the LRM's?

I want them to fire like hydra rocket pods in direct fire. Not slow as heck ones as they are now.

Select fire; slow lock on arc, direct-fast unguided shotgun where the propellant runs out halfway through.

I also want to drink too much coffee.

I'm halfway there!

Great new patch though. Keep the assets coming. New map please.

Whats up with all the moaning and complaining.

The movement changes will turn out to be a pretty big change to how people play.

Close. It'd be a 38. :-)

Not quite. It's actually a .357 :)
The .38 is also actually .357 (the .38 designation is actually the diameter of the brass case, not the cartridge!)
