Probably the fact that the Victor could have been released completely free today anyway. This is a pure feed on human impatience as many if not most humans are. Clever marketing though and perfectly legal. It might backfire however if stretched too far using it too often while at the same time delaying improving game content like more maps and game modes.

This is how F2P games work, there is absolutely nothing new about this type of thing. I personally don't have an interest in it, but I also see nothing wrong with it.

But it makes good business sense. Even if they had released it next week, there are many who would have bought it for MC, whether you, I or anyone else agree with their choice. And there WOULD have been some on the edge, considering it. I can promise you, this just knocked a few edge hangers off the wall into the "buy" category.

Smart marketing.

Be even smarter if there was an actual SALE to these early birds to give some sort of extra impetus to consider it, liek a 25% off or such.

Yes, exactly. There is no P2W here. Not even close. P2W would be releasing Mechs that have extended slots so you can fit more than the canon would allow. But then again. PPC Jenners or Cicadas are not canonical either...I think. Well, so much to fix, so little time. Don't ******* it up PGI.

It's not a bad idea, early access. Free players can still get it with c-bills and only a week later. Those with MC can pay to get a Victor ahead of the rest of us, but honestly does not make much of a difference anyway, as it's not like they will dominate the battleground but simply get to play with their "toys" earlier. So, thumbs up for the marketing staff! Better than getting trial mechs with MC, IMO.

Welcome to F2P be patient and spend nothing or be impatient and spend money. And designing and releasing mechs/map/modes are probably done by completely different teams of people, therefore them releasing a mech has nothing to do with game modes for sure and maybe maps.
