Im really pissed that in order to take part in this test you must completely renistall the game client and ALL THE PATCH DATA!!! But it doesnt say anything about that until you are already underway. Thanks a lot guys. Just another thing these guys get wrong.

Dude even I saw that in the FAQ
You should have TWO versions of the game installed on your PC, in order to play live and PTS test.
No, I don't want to find and quote that for you.

Well, they might Cap Rush into 12 Stalkers... But, I do wonder how Conquest Matches will play out now. There might be less Team Deathmatchiness now that both teams should have enough Lights to cap and defend.

Not if I run 2 MGs, 3 NARCs, two TAG, and a 360 XL on a DDC with no ECM

Hmm australia and asia screwed again, Just dont be surpised when you push 12v12 and we complain hard on the forums because it is an absolute crap experience for us higher ping players because we couldn't get on to test it.

The extra 4man... 4 light mechs charged with charging caps... the assault 4man charged with defending against said enemy light's... then the last 4 are the medium/heavy mechs charged with suicide deaths. I can see the battlefield going to hell in a handbasket due to the limited size of the maps which will promote blobbing tactics still.

I am glad for this addition, it would seem more is better when it comes to features so I am optimistic at the idea of the test server but I seriously wonder what the immediate value will be. I assume the collected data will be far less than that acquired from the active game servers and the previously noted glacial speed of their 'tweaks' does not fill me with confidence that the new test server will have any positive impact on the gameplay prior to launch. If it took as long as it did to adjust LRMs down and back up how long will it be before the test server data produces positive results. With only 2 months until launch this test server and the Dev team will either have to double all their efforts (at minimum) or accept that 'Launch' and 'Beta' are the exact same.

Anyone actually tried to get into the Mechlab on the Test build ? Getting told "This account is not authorized" ... am I too eager here , or what ?

But... But....

I want to test this in Australia, and I work! Even minor fluctuations in Ping and latency can force me to break out my oceanic shot-leading conversion chart, so I'd dearly like to see what sort of performance hit I'm looking at.

I have no issue with it being automated if PGi doesn't have people on deck to monitor things, if it crashes, it crashes. I just really want to see what I'll be getting myself into.

PGI, I hereby humbly request that you throw something up around the 2-4am PDT time.
