He accidentally linked to PGI's balancing proposal.

(Let's stop linking pictures of islands/countries/etc now and focus on problems/solutions)

Solution.

The Square Enix Limit Break.

Sack the entire dev team, and hire a completely new one.
Rebuild the game.

(For clarity, i wouldn't sack the entire dev team, there are a few i like, Thomas, Matt)

I'd really end up missing the awkward moments on the Friday streams when the guys actually playing the game have to sorta shrug and go "That's up to Paul" when asked about simple balance stuff (Like "Why didn't you just roll back the previous two PPC buffs when you put in HSR for it instead of giving us GHOST HEAT") though!

The only person I'd keep from this team is Alex AKA FlyingDebris. From what I understand he is the only person at PGI who is ahead of schedule.

Pffft, He's an artist. Everyone knows that art isn't REAL work.

Now editing a few integers in an XML file, that's some REAL WORK! Did you know it can take upwards of eight hours just to lower a single heat value by one? God Bless those Brave Space American Workers and God Bless Space America!

8 Hours? Jesus Christ man they aren't superhuman; it took a divine miracle and 6 months of 60 hour work weeks for the entire dev team to adjust srms from 1.5 dmg to 2.0!!

I think just about any explanation is within the realm of possibility. Given your two solutions, I believe neither to the be the case. Both explanations involve purposely telling the community a lie knowing that the truth would be revealed and damage their credibility.
As I said, Occams Razor.

Regardless of the real reason the incident happened, PGIs credibility was damaged. I can sympathize and understand why people feel betrayed and have trust issues. Which is why a few small, easy changes to communication from PGI would be appreciated.

Beep Boop.

You seem to be confusing Occam's and Hanlon's shaving implements.

You see, we the users need Hanlon's razor to not go insane with rage at PGI. PGI could make plenty use of Occam's razor, particularly when it comes to the heat penalty system but probably also certain decisions on forum organization.

In conclusion: please stop saying Occam's razor repeatedly when you mean something else.

.jpg files are know to add additional heat to servers due to the j - p - g being further down the alphabet (numerically of course) than say p - n - g... after you add in the assigned weighted value for [REDACTED] that is clearly stated in the [REDACTED] that you all read.

Also, nerf MG's. I can put 6 on a Jaeger DD. #WTHTHATISABOAT

For what its worth i think the process of building a game from scratch has some parallels with building mech models

http://mwomercs.com/...-fochts-bt-art/

There are times when during the creative process a sub assembly needs to be re-evaluated on or near completion, and sometimes reworked or even discarded and rebuild from scratch using new materiels.

MWO is still a work in progress folks, changes and elements , sometimes for the better sometimes for the worst are part of the process.

Ive played every sort of BT since dice and hex boards, and i think MWO is really really clever in its design and features.

Personally i can live with any minor issues while its being built, i can see its going to be perhaps the best online MW game presented to date.

IMO its potential and what we have so far, outweighs the negatives one hundred to one

Firstly, it's not a product that's just "still being built", they are happily taking payments. It is a product that is being sold. That is why we are angry about the mistakes being repeatedly made.

Secondly, the biggest problem is the way that PGI seems to do their design - they ignore player feedback and don't do any sort of useful play testing. That is why we haven't seen and don't expect to see the mistakes get fixed.

PGI claims that we are still in beta, but ignores their beta testers. A large chunk of the community publishes an open letter asking that PGI communicate with us better . . . And PGI ignores the letter about communicating.

The potential does not outweigh the negatives until PGI displays an ability and desire to harness that potential.

Thats not true, the main game screen clearly says "Beta"

You know that if you choose to invest in the project that you do so on that basis.

As for claims, the game clearly says its still a beta. Its not a claim its a fact.
Its still being patched, built and tweaked.
Your claim seems to be that its not a beta, and as such should be out of the box perfect.

You cannot build these thing via committee, you cant.

The founders knew when they paid for their packs the game was in development.
It still is, nothing has changed.

Yes some people have choosen, choosen being the operative word to invest in this project, but many others play for free.

You have a choice

Its a bit like chosing to pay the tollway fee to get to work 15 mins faster, rather than using the old road with its lights and congestion. But your toll fee doesnt mean you get to decide what colour the overpasses should be painted.

The product is Free, prior to buying into the phoenix project i played for free.
Those that choose to contribute real money to help see the project reach its clear potential do so by choice, and imo on that understanding.

Anyone who would rather wait until its no longer a Beta before parting with some cash are free to do so, or not.

Ive paid 80 bucks for my phoenix pack, and its money well spent (or i wouldnt have spent it)
But i dont for a moment think that entitles me to an active say in how the creators do their job.

As the saying goes

"You pays your money and you takes your chance"

Quote

You pays your money and you takes your chance(s).
Prov. You must resign yourself to taking risks.; Everything costs something, but paying for something does not guarantee that you will get it

http://idioms.thefre...kes+your+chance

The suggestion they dont listen to feedback is not born out by the facts, people posted early in this thread the 12v12 patch had some performance issues, within a day or so they released a hotfix that addressed this, and the day after i saw player after player saying "Yay my FPS are improved, thank you PGI".
