I would have to say it's 3PV's fault... because people have actually wanted a HUD element instead of it being a tiny cockpit blur on your screen.

It's quite possible for third person to provide expert players with a severe advantage, especially if they are operating in a group, at the same time during which it confuses and frustrates beginners. Surely you can understand how this could be the case.

That slight moment they get to see where the enemy is provides little advantage. "Expert" players would destroy new people regardless if 3PV was implemented or not.

It sounds like you have an under-appreciation for the amount of information you can get from even a quick three second flicker of the enemy. It can make all the difference between a Splatcat nailing your teammates from behind, yeah? Or spotting a trio of Ravens making their way down the rim of the map to your base.

"Good players do better than bad players" is not a compelling reason to introduce new mechanics that give good players even more advantage over bad players and newcomers.

No I am not kidding you. PGI both LIED to us about not forcing us to EVER have to play 1st person view vs 3rd person view and couldn't even get it right when they tried.

**** it. I asked for a refund for all MC purchases since that never statement was made. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

EDIT: Apparently database problems can cause the text in the post to be duplicated within the post.

She got more Kills than I did in our test out tonight of the new patch. Alas her machine dropped a few fps (though mine didn't) so will need to see if the patch reset more than just her weapon group assignments. I suspect so.

Third person view was introduced by an obviously clueless group of individuals. Coming from the original MW games it was used to exploit the game. How is it a good Idea when I smash my mech into a cliff wall and can see enemy mechs on top of the hill and begin to jump snipe them. I can go on for an hour or so about exploits but wont.
This was a BIG mistake, the game has an arcade feel and will be EXPLOITED beyond what the inexperienced group of individuals who instituted it can even imagine. At least it could be bidded off in the original game.
Time would have been better spent on map selecting or a bidding system.
IMHO
