Having played quite a few games now it has to be said that the implementation is pretty dreadful and does nothing to help new players at all, which is sad given this was the reason for it's inclusion.

Good point seeing as they've already included a beginners-only feature - the doubled XP/Cbills for your first 25 matches.

So they already have special settings in place for newbies. Why not stick them in 3pv and make it not blow as far as seeing legs?

What the game NEEDS for new players is an actual tutorial. I understand why 3pv helps to grasp mech movement. I think it is a very valuable training tool. I say give them a tutorial that leads them up to going in 1pv and finishes with the training grounds and the trial mechs. Keep real battles in 1pv. In the end I won't worry about it. Won't go out of my way for 1pv only matches.

You know...you can just press "B" while in 3rd person to INSTANTLY bring up a nice and nifty map to check things while telling your teammates via teamchat/teamspeak what to do and where to go? Not that this would be ANY kind of advantage...at all...

PGI's experienced internal testers can deduce that mixing 1PV and 3PV isn't detrimental to the community as a whole, but apparently can't be assed to press 'B' once during a match while in 3PV.

It's a corporate check to grab a large market share. It may work unless the community goes out and fights back. Kiddies don't read forums (or read for that matter). but they are the market share. If you don't believe me then explain the boy band phenomena.

Not sure if it matters, or if anyone recognizes me. But I've been playing this game since the 1st wave of closed beta, thats a long time. I have had great times playing this game and constantly defended PGI from naysayers and doom and gloomers. I've spent money, bought Phoenix, and I run an ~80 man regiment with decent attendance. I've seen all the various problems that have arisen, and seen them fixed. but.....

Now I hate what this game currently is, and I hate the fact that PGI, or rather, certain PEOPLE at PGI refuse to do what the community wants, ignores major pushes for change (such as #savemwo) and try to reinvent the wheel, thereby slowing down an already slow development team. I am taking a hiatus from regular play for awhile and leaving my XO in charge of my unit because this {Scrap} isn't fun any more. I pray to the Aesir and Vanir that you can fix this game for the sake of long time fans and new die hards, and for the sake of Battletech as an IP.

It is very simple and easy to do in most states. If they receive even a few complaints, they must investigate.

Just want to come out and say it. I've been a staunch defender of PGI throughout most of this process, and despite the fact that I really hated the notion of 3PV, I was okay with it as long as I never had to play with it, or with those using it.

Now you come out and tell us that the 1PV-only cues are "being reconsidered" because you think that you've created a balanced 3PV?

I really don't give a flying rat's arse about how balanced you think your 3PV is. I never want to play with people who are using it. Period. I fully planned on checking out 3PV once in training ground just to see how it looks, setting my cues to Hardcore only, and going about doing my best to forget that you guys even wasted time on 3PV. Now, you're essentially saying "we spent a lot of time on 3PV, and it seems a shame to waste all our effort, so you guys are gonna use it whether you like it or not."

No. No I won't play it. I won't play with it. I won't play with people using it.

Give me a heads up when you guys implement 1PV-only. I'm done with MWO till that's implemented.

As EXPECTED 3pv give SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE for a really small price.

If you guys at pgi really think its fair to put 1pv only player against 3pv you are brain dead.

GIVE US => NORMAL <= queu and CASUAL queu already. 1pv is nowhere near some kind of hardcore mode.
