I did not join and sign up with this game for a 3rd person viewer. As far as I am concerned it is a cheat and not the skill of the player. I have never found 3rd person enjoyable in any game and I have refused to use it in the versions of MW I have bought. I hope that it is removed, period.

There is a reason why I like to pay with a credit card, very good legal reasons. Now, based on the lack of delivery by PGI and I am reviewing my options in those areas.

PGI, what would happen if people demand their credit cards to refund/reverse charge/charge back from you?

I hope that PGI turns things around. I was enjoying the game, even with all of the bugs, ah, features. Not that I am looking to be banned from the game, I am not, I am just wishing for a better first shooter game. Do I get hang up on the terrain, yes, but that is part of the game which everyone should be aware of. I have put in for the big next stage of this game in October and from all of the quit notices I hope MWO does not end up folding. A 3rd/1st split with the drop servers is a good idea if you are going to keep 3rd person.

You should urgently think twice about it and read my post. World of tanks has got 3pv because of... why? Radio a bird? It's not magic in MWO, it's a drone flying behind you! Why not? It's the future, we already have drones NOW. Its the year 3050! Don't be so close-minded.

To me this smacks of Sony's Star Wars Galaxies Combat Upgrade and New Game Engine updates... both had the community out in furore over the changes whilst the company sat back and said the player base wanted it.... followed quickly by mass player evacuations and shutdowns of servers followed by the game itself.

There are more fundamental things going on here. PGI had made promises at the launch of the Beta... and remember this is a Beta.... that X Y Z were going to happen and A B C would never happen. They have not stuck to their word. The game has in rapid succession become to a pay to win game. Even down to the level of painting your own mech where we were promised that paints would be C-Bill Purchasable just hasnt happened.

But with the upcoming North America Launch Party for the game... ie it going full launch and no longer beta.... maybe we can expect a massive update to the game where everything they promised comes to fruition....

then again typing that i could not help but burst out into laughter. The fundamentals that made this game enjoyable and something to look forward to, have seemingly been removed, under-delivered, or carefully ignored. I could eat my own words when knockdown and community warfare is released in september... i doubt it though.

I still love the Mechwarrior Franchise, and i am grateful for the people i have met and the fun i have occasionally had in the game. However when something becomes more of a bore and a chore than exciting and thrilling.. its time to push it to one side and focus on other things.

Just my view point and opinion there.

Fine - except in 3050 apparently they can make indestructible drones but somehow still need very destructible mechs piloted by people... Why not put a small laser on the drone and leave the mech at home?

Im not close minded - I don't mind easy mode for starters.

But they promised the real game would be 1st person - and that you could choose to play in an only 1st person queue.

Now there is apparently no need to have separate queues....

Well we the players and people providing the money for their salaries disagree and are trying to explain why. Unfortunately certain posts by Paul and Russ telling us to effectively suck lemons makes it hard to do without sounding as (frankly) pissed off as we are.

And the hilarity of your posts continue. Not only does it eliminate tactics in both WoT and MWO. But it favors campy gameplay, cheap tactics and general abuse of the feature. Do you not realize why most competitive PVP games don't feature third person perspective? Because it is inherently abused in any and all forms. It was abused all the way back in ******* 2003 In Planetside 1 for gods sake.


Just because you haven't learned an obvious lesson doesn't mean this game needs to be dragged down by the lack of common sense present in the dev staff.


You have nothing. No gameplay defense. As it does not actually help new players. No balance defense. As it unbalances the game. No tactical defense. As it removes tactics and gives counterless situational awareness. Not even a defense of allowing those who like it to go to their own servers. As PGI has has apparently reneged on one of the CORE promises of this game.

Nothing wrong with that! That's what I said before. It's not ok to treat a community like this, I'm with you at that point!

But, the drone is a first step. They can make it destroyable in a future patch and I personally think, there are great possibilities, y'know? They implemented a drone and there are coming great ideas with it. Am I the only one (or Rathmere and me the only two) who notices the positives?
