So... why are there only like 4 or 5 of us posting about this most recent insanity on their Facebook?

We need hundreds - we have a handful.

Don't be rude, don't be nasty, just post along the following lines:

"Where is that split queue?"

"When will you restore 1PV only gameplay for those of your fans requesting such?"

"Why is the latest Ask the Devs not addressing the forced and surprise addition of the 3PV option without the promised 1PV-only queue?"

If we can't get mobilized outside the forums, and capitalize on recent media attention, we are going to look like a handful of angry old men yelling at clouds.

We aren't a handful of angry old men yelling at clouds, right? ^_^

Also, I could use a link to videos showing 3PV being used in the fashion many of us feared. Someone had posted several such links in the various 3PV threads, but as happens, now that I need them I can't find them.

How about contacting and writing to publications about the issues? Just a thought, they can't moderate that, and it may do more good pressing PGI with more articles of the troubles facing MWO. Anyway happy Storm the Castle day!

Insult us all you wish.

We just want the game they sold us last year, and we want to ensure they understand that they cannot sell us one thing and give us another.

You are welcome to disagree.

Wait until release. You won't be able to find a gaming website that *doesn't* talk about it.

Even as a goon I have to say that themittani doesn't really count as an outside news source. It's quite a good article but it IS written by a WoL member.

The loaded dice thing looks more like a blogpost and the penny arcade article tries to hard to stay neutral in a situation where one side is clearly doing something wrong (ffs a good fraction of the DHB people even agree something is wrong!)

But yeah, if you can get some games "journalists" interested into writing about the downfall of MWO go right ahead!

I'm sure a kotaku article is just waiting to be written after release proves to be a big ole flop (because it will be ******* meaningless in terms of new content).

AtD45 Answer from PGI: We are acutely aware of the #saveMWO group. As with all feedback/suggestions, whether it be from groups or individuals, we weigh them all equally and work through the pros and cons of the suggestions. We cannot move forward with all suggestions made and we have to keep in mind our original goals of the gamebringing the IP back to life and making the game fun for as many people as possible, not just the core group (which is who the majority of #saveMWO is). While we do actively listen to our core group (and as mentioned, we cannot follow up with every suggestion made), who we do value greatly, we have to keep in mind what is best for MWO in the long term, and that is attracting as many new players as possible.

So... This says to me that they are not making a mechwarrior game that appeals to fans of the IP, but are making a video game with a mechwarrior skin on it. I think most players feel that their two stated goals are somewhat mutually exclusive at this point in development. I believe that most publishers felt the same way when they were shopping it around for financing, but then again, they probably weren't expecting the core fans to be willing to shell out ten times the cost of an ordinary AAA title.

I was under the mistaken impression that a solid Mechwarrior sim was what they were making and they would make it so good that people couldn't ignore it, thus attracting new players; I thought I was who they were marketing to. They are actually going for the mass market, wanting to use high player turnover for profitability versus repeat customers.

It feels like they want to make the video game equivalent of a $5 pizza buffet-style restaurant where the faster you turn over tables the more money you make instead of a fine-dining establishment where you take your time with each table and make large profits from over-priced alcohol sales. I feel that they are asking me to pay fine-dining prices for some $5 pizza just because they are the only place in town that calls themselves "fine-dining".

What PGI is doing is like marketing rap music to white kids in the suburbs... they may be the ones who are your largest consumers but they aren't who you market to; you market to your core audience of young, inner-city trend-setters. When the core group says it's cool, then everyone else jumps on the bandwagon.

This loss of market focus is stated as one of their two main goals for this game... that says all I need to know. It says that whatever the core group does, they don't care because you were only the market to get the initial financing for this game. Now that financing is secured they can proceed to make a mass market game with your monies.

Hey there. I'd like to sign the Letter for #saveMWO on behalf of the 5th Drakøns, an FRR House unit. A lot of us have been around since Closed beta, and we're absolutely fed up with PGI at this point.

We have about 20 players.

It seems Stalkerr has run out of space or is prohibiting non-friends from messaging him.

Some of us have been posting on their facebook... but I think the majority of people are keeping it to the forums and some on twitter.

Maybe more people posting on their facebook would be a good way to get the word out more... I don't know.

We need contact information and social media links to IGP staff, as well, as there is some chance it is them driving these deviations and forcing PGI to make them.

Not saying that is what is happening, it is just a possibility and we need to take the fight to IGP.

For what little it may be worth.

Couldn't you write some of these publications about the issue? I don't buy any so I have no idea who they are. The closest thing was when I had my wife get PC Gamer for the Skin and Colors, back when we all had hope for this game.

I know this is going to come off as negative, but I think as a community our best bet is to let this game die and let it be a lesson as far as kickstarting development projects. I would like nothing better than to see the game turn around, but at this point and with so much deceit and mistrust from the developers and the publishers, how would they even begin to repair that with the community?

Maybe the rights will get sold to someone who actually does care about the franchise more than just making a profit off of it. That's the problem here. All IGP or PGI really cares about is trying to make a profit off this game, so much so to the point that they will willingly rip anything out of it that truly makes this franchise great in order to try and make a buck.
