Instead PGI should've invested that time in a proper ingame tutorial to really introduce new players to the game mechanics.
Time after time I see new players without a clue and tell them to visit the training grounds on the main page. Obviously the training grounds links are not enough to get new players to read them.
Actually, a tutorial will be getting into the test servers either this Thursday (I’m guessing about this. They said it was DX11, and maybe other goodies), or next week. They said that we’ll be seeing Tutorials near the end of August.
Whether or not you believe what they say or not, but look at the timeframe. Launch is getting real close, and they don't have time.
Also, it's probably a good thing that 3PV is out because that view can be incorporated into the Training, and then new players will be a little more familiar with it.

If anyone seriously still has a problem with 3pv, its because they haven't actually played the game since yesterday.

What's even more amusing is how people swallow it hook, line and sinker. They're perfectly ok with PGI being slippery little buggers that either A ) have no coherent vision, thus necessitating constant retractions and flip-flops or B ) have been deliberately misleading the community. Personally, I'm not cool with either of those things. Headless chicken or snake-in-the-grass, PGI being all over the map reflects in their shoddy product.
But hey, they told us that Nothing is Final™ so that means they can keep moving those goalposts indefinitely, amirite?

Well I pulled my head out of my arse and jumped off the bandwagon. But hey, continue on being a heard of cattle following each other and whimpering about those precious promises or whatever quotes you can flock to that you wanna use to help make you feel better. If you hate PGI so much or that they go against the grain sometimes. Just leave. Go away. Sick of your childish complaining. I'll white knight what I want, but I'm not going to whine. I'm going to get over myself, and help give my feedback to help out 3PV.
So wtf are you ganna do?

It's true that we've been saying that for a while, but it never seemed to sink in with some folks. I guess in 3.5 weeks you'll no longer have to ignore that fact.

I don't know if you noticed, but that's the way most online games are these days. You rarely buy a finished product off the shelf.
It's still as much fun for me as it has been all along (if not more so), so I will continue to voice my support. You can call it what you will, but I've been here as long as almost anyone, and I've followed the developer's decisions from day 1. It's not that big of a deal that they changed their minds. I don't feel lied to at all.

You're quite lucky. I wish I could be mislead and outright lied to by the people I was sending my hard earned money to and be totally cool with it. Your life must be so stress free. You and MoonUnitBeta must be so loaded with cash and have your lives totally in order. Bravo.

All joking aside... if you have MW4 (or if you don't, download it for free) and look at how realistic the mechs walk. How fluid the animations are; how the mechs actually walk on the ground as the terrain changes. Now look at any mech in MWO. It looks like a child animated it! I have created more fluid animations in ProEngineer, and it isn't even designed for that level of animation detail.

Capper, I've had the pleasure of having you on my team many times. You seem like a pretty good guy but in this instance you really have to pull your head out of the dark place its in. Yes I've played the game and yes it does offer undue advantage.

Not once did I buy the Pheonix Package because of what they said about 3PV. Not once did I buy the Legendary founders pack because of the dev blogs or anything they said before. It’s the Mechwarrior name that sold be on the legendary, not the 3PV, or what they seem to have said in the past. It’s Mechwarrior, it’s fun, with or without 3PV, because I don’t care what they said in the past, 3PV sucks and I don’t see people use it in-game except for 1 or two which end up getting sniped. Looking past what they said, 3PV isn’t even a good mode. If anything, I’m a little miffed about how NOT user friendly it is.
But getting back on track, the game is fun for me. I ignore what PGI says and I just roll with it. The game is still fun? Good, then I don’t care. They’re doing things right. When the game stops being fun, I’ll stop playing. If it’s not fun for you, then just go away. Your snivelling is just cluttering up all the posts that people make that try to genuinely comment about the game. You are literally a drawback to their development if you don’t have anything useful to say except jab at other community members.

Mechwarriors,
We are launching in a few short weeks and have just implemented 3rd Person View. We know that many of you feel it should be left out of the equation in its entirety, however we would like it tested more and to get players real reaction with it live. We will after said time bring the hardcore queue in.
This could have done two things for them A) redirect anger and
Instead they threw it in our face. Which they do time and time again. They need to hire a PR Rep one who is on top of things and quit trying to do it in a halfbaked matter.

This is actually good feedback! It isn't just what they do that is a slap in the face, it is how they do it that stings more.

Wow. You are THE definition of {Noble MechWarrior}. If the only prequisite for you to have fun is that's its a "Mechwarrior" title, then your feedback is just as useless as mine. And fyi, I DID quit because the game isn't fun anymore. They can still fix it and that's why I'm here. To provide critical feedback. Being a PGI yes man does nothing but tell them that someone agrees with their asinine game direction decisions.I wouldn't care about 3pv at all... IF I wasn't FORCED the play with it like they said specifically WOULD NOT happen.

They have a few PR reps. Unfortunately, they're at NoGutsNoGalaxy and they always fall in line with PGI.

Lies led me to believe this was going to be a game I would want to play when it was released.
It's either mis-selling or mis-representation - pick one.
The word you're looking for is 'false advertising'. Fraud has a nice ring to it too.
