As someone who has a degree in media economics you sometimes just wanna {redact} when reading PGI posts.
disclaimer: this is not a threat... in case {redacting} is a legal offense in Canada.

i usualy (redact) only if i drink way too much, but seeing post disappear by the dozend and many more being redacted makes me (redact) uncontrollably.

Passive aggressive threats about calling the "authorities" on your players have no place in a creative director update. That should be deleted immediately and only placed in a code and conduct policies section of this forum. This is the first communication from PGI that came across as hostile to me and I did not enjoy reading it. It does not make me want to play your game.

PGI, are you seriously trying to alienate everyone who signed up to the Founders program? This is just bonkers. A creative director update which is really just a retrospective, which doesn't even acknowledge a 260+ page topic of outright rejection on 3PV.

You guys really have lost the plot. I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on this game, but no more, because it's obvious that you just don't care about people who support the game.

I'll leave you to your F2P transient population who play for 3 weeks, never buy anything, then go off to the next shiney game.

Goodbye.

You know what's sad? 6 pages in and this is the only post I've seen trying to defend PGI.

I'm not saying your post is wrong or bad, just pointing out that its the only one so far.

Wait wont that make him a minority?
Oh wait he must be one of those rare silent majorities.
Listen to him guys ,he must be right about these things.

I strongly recommend you to make more adverts. I've seen no adverts anywhere and I'm long term gamer. I only found this game because I got bored of other one and I was looking for something with 'mech in name. I'm very happy that I found it and I wish I knew it from the beginning. I know for sure it won't be another f2p game that I quit after an hour or month.

Keep it up!

Regards

so... these stats yeah?

the forums are still gaining by a very small amount each day over the past month or so with no noticable increase (about 7 years to the next million registrations) so why hasn't this surge of new players joined the forums? hmmm? (protip - I'd get the web guy to add in a hundred thousand or so new registrations if you wanna make it look legit)

target demographic - ok - so how do you know the demographic details of new players exactly? new players most likely not themselves paying for the connection they play on? (which skews your results) What magic do you use to identify the demographic profile and process it within a few days?

Hello, I am going to pretend everything is great when I write this until later (see below!)

We're going to call the fuzz if you keep threatening us.

Everyone have a great day, we've been successful with everything we do.

Edit: cleaned up code stuff

That's because those of us who don't think that Rome is burning have learned to keep our mouths shut.

And you sir have the honor of the second post defending PGI 7 pages in.

Mostly I have stayed silent on these boards. Even when PGI makes the dumbest decisions (Like making BAP counter ECM completely EIGHT MONTHS after people have been crying about it, on and on, really the list is too long to mention.) I can't take it anymore though. I'm sure there are many more that sit idly by and keep their mouth shut. Maybe its because they have seen that PGI ignores their community and figure its a futile effort.

I'm here because I've been here since the very beginning. I want to see it through to the end even if that end is a fiery crash and burn.

I'll still play, but no way am I spending money on this game.

Just confirmed my Pheonix Package Refund; hers my Email.
-------------------------
Hi Reppu,

Thanks for getting back to me,, however Russ`s "Apology" is/was terrible, and reading the September Community update, certainly does not make me feel any better. Basicly the C-bills reduction was the final straw, it went from fun and rewarding with Premium time to ugh is that all i earned?

I don't want to play for 20 hours to get another Atlas, earning 564k of C-bills per hour is ridiculous, I can only imagine how bad people with out premium time feel, if it had only been 13% reduction from 12vs12 it may have been ok.

I am unable to continue to support this project, it deeply saddens me that the attitude displayed towards the community and its concerns is so spiteful, I would liken it to an abusive relationship.

Yes some of the community is harsh but the deeds done and the Attitude of Russ on twitter and on the forums is unacceptable, PGI is suppose to be a professional game development company, Russ acts like a spoilt brat.

I know you have great people working for you, like Niko Snow and Gareth, among others, Can't you put someone else in charge?

The community can unfortunately only vote with there wallets, which is why I like others am pulling my Phoenix pre-order, and will not be spending further money on your game until your attitude dramatically changes.

If only I could turn off my premium time as well, seeing as I have hardly played much in the last 5 weeks, ah well.

Kind regards,

Nexus Omega

Well done! You have pushed me closer to never spending another dollar on this game and as close as I was already that is an accomplishment. I would like to see the numbers that you are throwing around about new players and player retention. Oh wait a minute I actually don't care because if your trying to draw in those that have to see their legs to play then it doesn't matter.

I don't like calling for people to be fired, but whoever dictates their entire strategy on the communication front needs to get canned. Everything about the way they conduct communication is done wrong (the various sub-forums, Twitter and Facebook, the timing, the spelling/grammar, etc.). They need to fire whoever is running it, bring in somebody with a thick skin and a passion for talking to people, and start from scratch.

There's very little chance they'd find someone with a skin 'thick' enough for this forum. The reactions of so many players is so outrageously bombastic that you'd have to be dead for it not to irk you to some degree. Also I'd hate to point out that the degree of spelling/grammar mistakes present doesn't seem any more that just about any where else. I even see them more and more on Newspaper websites. I just don't think the same attention is devoted to correcting these types of errors as publishers did in the past. Ever read a Battletech novel, I certainly found plenty of problems in the print medium.

We can still end up with Phase 1 of CW, after all that nothing much other then allegiances anyway. What they're likely to reveal is what to expect with Phase 2&3.

I thought an "Developer Update" was to inform the public on what is to come? All I read is past news, "Sorry you feel that way BUT", and expect some pretty stuff soon. I've been reading for 3 months CW updates will be out "soon" but get nothing. Nothing communicated = Nothing excited about = Nothing bought, give us something. Getting tired of this stick-n-carrot communication.
