So remind me, which one of these ideas came from (or were well received by) the community:
Ghost Heat: the Magnum Opus
Ghost Damage
Ghost Delay
Ghost Target Demographic
Ghost Posting
Third person view

TIA~~~~~

Pretty sure none of that, and I'm pretty sure a lot of players still don't fully understand the scope of Ghost Heat or why they're overheating.

re-read and noticed that he is looking forward to all these new features in next 90 days....so DX11, UI2, etc are all for after launch now. Great. 2014 maybe?

That announcement was so out of touch with its players.

I also wanted to take time to clear up a few laundry items, mostly to do with communication and promises. I think I’ll start with a lesson from my wife: Never say never, or always. I have to agree. Even though best intentions and plans for future designs and direction of the game can take a different course as we develop them, we have learned to avoid using words of certainty whenever possible. We’ve seen these type of words frame our messaging in a way that some community members either see this as a promise, or guarantee. I want to always remind our community that we do our best to describe both our vision and roadmap, and that sometimes we are going to make decisions that you may not agree with. MechWarrior Online is constantly evolving and changing. It’s a living breathing project that will never stay still, rather react to players, analytics and external influences, like new trends in gaming

I wonder how well Bryan listens to his wife.. lol
"Bryan! Don't you be goin to the bar tonight!"
"Yes, Wife."
*Goes to the bar*

Edit: Anyways. It's too obvious of an error to actually be taken I mean... "I want to remind our commmunity" sounds just fine.. so.. is that "always" needed to be there? Well... no. lol
And the never? I think he first typed " won't" then thought... You know, I paid big bucks for that troll face.... *inserts never*"
/trollface

Well played Bryan :P lol

But now there's the question, since he knows never to say never or always.... is he now purposefully going against that? Wouldn't that then mean he doesn't want to remind the community, and that the game will stay still? I mean, if he doesn't mean never, or always, he's likely to mean the opposite!

I'm honestly dissapointed in this community. You are all adults (well, most of you) and you act like raging kids (some of you not all. Some of you are more polite about it, but still complain)

I am reposting my previous post since only one person commented on it. Read this damn entire thing for the love of god. You all need to stop and look at how you are acting. It's pathetic. I'm 21 years old and I am acting more maturely and a hell of a lot better than the lot of you are.

Honestly, I'm not even upset since I've read this update. You guys are just looking at text on the screen and not reading context clues.

For example, they mention they've been paying attention to 3PV. You all can claim how people are leaving and how its killing the game...but guess what? You don't have the player registration data and telemetry in front of you, do you? You don't know how many people have joined for a 100% fact do you? So unless you work for PGI or somehow have illegally hacked their database to see the SAME data they are seeing. Shush.

They say how they have learned not to make things sound like promises as they too have realized that the community took it as a guarantee. They also said that they are keeping major additions to the game under wraps until they are happy with what they have.

For those that say they do not listen, check the UI 2.0 threads. When they say that was community lead and how the community helped make it good, they were not lying. PGI DID listen. I recall the community giving suggestions on showing the arm AND torso twist, pitch and yaw on the same little circle diagram (yellow = chest, orange = arm). They did that b/c the community wanted it.

If you all got what you wanted in this game, this game would be ruined. You'd have noobs getting unfair boosts, veterans would want nerfs across the board and more cbills. The game would become a damn arms race like MW4 was and that is EXACTLY what they are trying to prevent. MW4 and MW3 has HUGE issues with mediums and lights being viable. Everyone went for powerful assaults and madcats/timberwolfs. MWO is very different from that and I am glad they did not listen to the community on that...otherwise this would just be a modern F2P MW4. I wouldn't be playing the game right now if it was like that.

I happily support this game with both gaming hours AND MC purchases. I'm a legendary founder since June 2012, I've bought Overlord and not regretting it one bit. I play with a professional team of a bunch of really great guys. I tend to PUG a bit too so I see both sides of the spectrum. I get it. People are unhappy. People will always find things wrong with stuff. However, you all need to understand that what one or a few people think is wrong, many others may think it is fine.

The 3PV does have advantages. I see that. Yes, you can not always see your legs on mechs to help you orientate your torso to them...BUT you CAN see what direction you are going and that is just as good.

I know people are upset about them saying they would not add 3PV. Most of us are. Nobody likes being told one thing and then something else happens. However, as they said, this game is forever changing. Give it a month or two. I wouldn't be surpised if in that time 3PV gets updated or we get 1PV games (Hardcore). The queue option for Hardcore is in game, just not active. That right there tells you they will probably add it in at somepoint. They could be waiting for launch. You never know.

PGI does understand that we are not a community to be trifled with. If we feel we have been wronged, we are very sure to let them know. Perhaps if we all didn't claim the game is dead or how PGI and IGP ruined X and Y or even how the game is screwed or insult them, perhaps they could read these topics and get the good out of them. Rather than insult them and QQ, have you ever thought to make topics VOICING your opinions and ideas? There is a subforum for suggestions for a reason. Just because they may not respond to your topic does not mean they did not read it or do not care. If enough people make the same suggestion on something with GOOD reasons as to why it should be changed, I'm pretty sure PGI will get the message.

If you do not want to play anymore, that is fine. However, there is no need to stick around on the forums QQing about X and Y and how Z is broken, etc. All you are doing is bringing unwanted negative attention to the game. Either suggest ideas or don't post. Simple.

Ok I am done ranting. I thank any and all who just read my post.

All of them. The developers channel the will of the community via an ancient Native American telepathic meditation technique. The developers are giving us things we didn't even know we wanted!

SC Dogfighting "testing" (if you'll use the term) targeted for December.

MWO Community Warfare targeted for ____________.

I'm done. Goonsquad has taken a the 10yo insult route and made me out as impatient. Impatient....right....I took a good 30mins to make a post while all of you spend 1 second skimming the update and then take 2mins to make a hateful post towards PGI and IGP.

Ever wonder why the staff don't respond to you anymore? this is why. Good job guys. The reason they do not listen is because of YOU. Yes, YOU. That's right. Whining and moaning and insulting rather than nicely providing suggestions where appropriate has made the staff choose not to respond as often because they KNOW whenever they do, they get bombarded with QQ and shitstorms of hate.

Good job guys. Way to be a great gaming community. I hope you're happy with yourselves.

The community is very large, and represents a broad segment of players. There are vocal minorities and silent majorities on all subjects and we always have to balance between these groups. We have found that analytics and player profiling has helped us identify the needs of most demographics and while it may seem that we either a) don’t listen or :P are making choices that go against the “players” opinion, this is simply not the case. People can become focused on narrow aspects of the game, and forget about the bigger picture. We all have favourite weapons, builds, Mechs that we want to be the best they can be, but oftentimes we can overly focus on what affects us, and forget about other players with other Mechs, builds, and so on.

While telemetrics can give you indication of what is used and how players are playing (e.g. load out, mechs, maps, 1PV vs 3PV, etc) it cannot tell you what players would like and you don't provide a mechanism for surveys or polls in game or via email (which would target the majority of the player base given not everyone is on the forums). Using this information together with the telemetrics and obviously the marketing and architect departments, this would provide a better picture of the players wants and what they would be willing to spend money on so you can prioritise your work accordingly. I mean face it at the end of the day the two key factors are player retention (aka their relative happiness in the game) and generating income.

Further, providing the results of polls/surveys and the outcomes would inform the players that this was the vote of the majority of the player base instead of from their constricted viewpoint.

The main point is really to get a feel of what the players want and keep communications transparent.
