When you compare the Shadow Hawk to the Wolverine and Griffen, I'm not convinced the 2 new mechs are worth an additional $30.

All 3 have the same engines, same speeds, same module slots, same armor (same max armor?), all are jump jet capable, and all are 55 tons. So what exactly does the Wolverine and Griffen bring to the table that's new? Hardpoints? The Griffen's hardpoints are a joke, 3 missiles in the right torso and 3 lasers in the right arm...talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. There's nothing that the Griffen has that the Kintaro or Trebuchet can't already do.

On paper, the Wolverine is almost the exact same as the Shadow Hawk except the distribution of hard points. The only significant difference being that the ballistics are in the left arm of the Wolverine instead of being housed in the side torso as in the Shadow Hawk. Otherwise these 2 mechs are functionally identical expect for the jump jets where the Wolverine has a max of 7 and the Shadow Hawk has a max of 3. Is that enough to convince you to shell out $30?

Shadowhawk Griffin and Wolverine, are the three great original, best designed, and stolen lol, 55 tommers in the mech universe, its kind of Ironic that these two plus the Orion are now the only things I was prepared to spend cash on any longer, ONE more to go, and I'm spend out ..

I'd be more worried by the fact that there is so little left for people to do in game, I mean I paid cash for 18 mechs so don't have to grind some of my favorite mechs just to get the chassis, only have to girnd the improvements plus those in my bays that I havn't mastered yet and then well..putting aside the contempt and the disgust, what is there to do..CW keeps getting delayed, and its the core reason to play mechwarrior, and its only being hinted at for launch..in a very limited form..so once everyone has their fav's in the bays where is the incentive to continue playing and or paying..

This package is the last i'll buy because I have no reason to believe that a deal can be reached with harmony gold, for the rest of the unseen, I loath clan tech and 95% of the designs of both them and the Is mechs that came after..while i have shelled out for camo and cockpit items there is no reason to continue paying for them, until PGI manage to design a good one like the Nvidia fairy, and not the offerings currently available..

without community warfare and a universe to fight over, I'm finding it harder and harder to reguard MWO as a platform worth spending money on..

Maybe after the orion, a zeus or banshee, its a case of to many mechs and not enough content, arena fighting can only go on so long before it gets dull

No Macross, no money. < :) >

edit: Also, the game is really boring. Adding more gundams to the pile ain't gonna make playing the same two game modes more fun.

double edit: Oh yeah, that whole thing about "the thinking man's shooter"? Bollocks.

triple edit: Saber pack mechs are mediums. Medium mechs are not exactly sterling. Perhaps you could consider role-based buffs for them? Or something to offset their lack of space for guns?

The Mechs look good, but i'm still not interested.
I'm happy with the "Operation Inception Founder Mechs" and i'll wait and safe my money for upcoming clan tech. :)

Patience is a virtue!

If people keep throwing money at PGI, then they'll assume everything is great and we won't have the game we were promised.

I think the game is incredible! I am more than happy to support a game i thoroughly enjoy.

Normally I would say the same thing, but I haven't been able to play for around a month and I'm getting sick of hearing nothing.

Needs salt. No, wait! Chili!
Truth be told I am also getting bored with the maps, the complaints and the repetition.
Package looks ok, but aren't we just adding different fish to the same aquarium?
Now if the Aquarium featured more air bubbles, sand and rock features it may get more excit....wait where was I going with this?

You want more more money in forward? No. Because you failed in communications and reliability. A pity.

You know, i don't get the negative feedback i see so often in these forums. While i have the disposable income to "throw" at this game, i play with several who don't. And honestly my kill totals and the amount of c-bills/exp don't reflect any huge difference. I do it because i WANT to. Because i love this game and these mechs they are rolling out look SICK!! I absolutely love rolling in Medium mechs, the Shadow Hawk is by far one of my favorite non-Clan mechs and I am ecstatic they were able to work out a deal to bring these unseen back into action. Both new mechs look incredible and I am in. Man i cant wait until the middle of October! :)

PGI doesn't need to negotiate with Harmony Gold to bring the rest of the "Unseen" to MWO; HG owns the rights to the original artwork but not the mechs/loadouts/layouts/technical specifications. PGI simply needs to decide "Ok, we are gonna do this. Alex, sharpen your pencils and get to redesigning these mechs".

The problem with doing this is that, while there are no legal ramifications, the player community would be split in half; half of us be rising up in arms saying "but this isn't the officer glaug battle pod of super awesomeness of my childhood" and the other half would be like "yeah thats okay. I can live with it".

Whilst the unseen, those we have before us in these packages, are great they aren't nearly as iconic as the Archer, Warhammer, Marauder and Rifleman (which we already received in the form of the Firebrand LOL). To present these four icons of MechWarrior/Battletech, and get them wrong, could potentially have major backlash.

I applaud Russ and Bryan for treading carefully here. My Marauder is sacred and the mods and devs tease me about this constantly. I warily sit and sharpen my pitch fork and bind my torches in case the day comes that they do come out. That being said I do have a little money stashed away in the event that these mechs ever do come out.

Well unfortunately that Griffin just opened my wallet. My favourite TT mech and lovelyness incarnate, yes it will probably be a fail in MWO with limited hardpoints but im going to roll in that like its 1999. er um, the Wolverines epic too.

yes there are issues there always will be im throwing money at you in the hope that it will provide me with a BT vets mech rush. Most importantly I want to be thinking im making a difference in CW even if im not a top Unit hotdog.

nah im throwing money because its a Griffin.

Maybe this needs some community involvement in an earlier phase. Of course, that means a lot of overhead. Basically, Alex sharpens his pencils and churns out 3-4 distinct, alternative looks and then the community gets to vote. (Can UI 2.0 do ingame polls, so you get more players to look at it?).

Thinking man's shooter, paying man's shooter, same difference.

I don't get it, why were these not in the original package?

You want us to throw more money in to a game when you still have not delivered on aspects many of us have been waiting for.

You wasted valuable development time on 3PV knowing it was something the majority of the community never wanted instead of CW which is what the majority actually do want.

Too many people have been asking for refunds and filling charges with Canada's Competition Complaint Bureau and now you pull this out of your hat. The majority of people I have spoken to on TS are now actually considering putting in for a refund because of the Sabre package.

Something is seriously wrong with the decision making process here. As much as I love the genre and this game. I can not fund an organization I no longer trust. Even though I have not put in for a refund, yet, I still have a sliver of hope that some good will come out of the mess you have created. If, and only if, you take the time to LISTEN!

Well considering that most of the current Phoenix seems a bit more based from the Phoenix TRO (with some nods to the original design)

If they ever release those well.. as you say pitch and forkes would be like the less thing expected.

How about letting the players vote on a design? Several artist renderings could be done and we could vote on them. Keep the results of the voting a secret.

Aww I was ninja'd lol. I guess great minds think alike.

Hey this game feels more and more like the tabletop in the Old days where I spend all my money on lead-tin miniatures and paints. Hey the mechs even cost almost the same as those figurines back then.

I really do not get all the hate. I can not recall being forced to spend ANY money on this game, I decided to spend some and so far I got what I bought. Since I started playing, I did spend VERY little compared to other games. If YOU did spend more than you are happy about, why did you do so?

I'd love to see Alex' take on a Marauder. So far everything he has delivered has been ranging from good to incredible (hell; he got me to like the looks of a Dragon! :)) So if this mechanic could be implemented in the Launcher or ingame... nice idea!

Meh, will buy c-bill versions if I'm still playing. You need to release some actual real gameplay content.

They were two very good matches in the Misery (something like 11 kills between the 2 matches) hahaha. Even in an average win match with my TDK and premium I'm getting a good 170/180K, easily making a couple of million a night. The losses are alot worse now though! XD

Guide how to make more money!

u want to make more money? The rick is easy! Take out the leg first then the torso its 3 component immediately then leave the poor thing behind dont kill it no need for violence XD....
repeat this 3 or 4 times and try to scratch every single mech

its guaranty 200K + with premium time u may just do 200-300 damage and 0 kill
but 9 assist and 12 component destroyed gives a lot of money
its also more challenging and fun u need to aim carefully and get ignored so faster mechs are better for this purpose but this matches are rare...

The Hula Girl is a lie...just like coolant shots, 3rd person, having to fight against 3rd person, ect. I love the game but with the amount of money I've spent so far I'll wait to see if MWO can find a way to redeem itself from the devs "great" decisions. Really loving how everything is ER PPC nowdays. Never see large pulse anymore but everything and I mean everything that can pack seven tons carries a PPC. It's lame.
