Buying. Already put too much money in this game, but hey; The world keeps spinning and I got food on my table (and fortunately I still got a job, knock on wood). My fear is this will turn out to be a Pokemon sort of thing. Got to have em all!
To be honest I want to support PGI, even with all the recent stuff happening, as MW is perhaps one of my favourite series of games through the times, and although some bad things have happened I respect PGI for picking this up and blowing off the dust from the series. They didnt HAVE to you know. If it turns out to be a dud, so be it (I've wasted money more than once during my life), but I have high hopes and want to make sure that the PGI team know that someone stands behind them all they way instead of cheering on the other team once things get tough.
For me its sort of like sports. Its easy to cheer on your football team through good times, where everything seems neat and perfect, but the real test is when things are down-slope and the team runs around without any real direction and seems uninspired and tired. Most of us dont know how many hours and laps around the court the devs have to do to realize this thing, but I for one think they deserve a vacation (which is probably one of the reasons for the lack of good communication around the 3pv issue). The coach may say "we will surely not lose this match, because I think we got a good game-plan" but of course that may not be a very wise statement as when the team changes strategy and lose the one match, the coach will get all the blame. In the end the coach, no matter if he made a mistake, is a normal human being like you and me, and while we may get disappointed in him we should rather cheer during the victories and good times, and subsequently voice our opinions in a civil and constructive way.
Sorry for the long post this is turning out to be. Its just that I'm happy to see the team evolving MWO rather than admitting defeat and saying "maybe next season". While I personally dont mind the dumbed down 3pv feature (although I support that there should be seperate queues. why not? should be more than enough players) I was much more afraid, having joined MWO just recently, that MWO was stagnating at my point of entry. This package goes to prove that this is not the case. Having had some really fun and good matches so far (best one with damages reaching 900+), some going well while others punishing me utterly for my stupidity (running slowly in my assault across an open field for instance), I feel that this iteration beats any other MW experience so far, even LL. I also have met so many good people on the battlefield, and have heard a lot of good jokes while doing the obligatory "run a while before reaching a capture point or the enemy" phase. I also have had my rumplestiltskin kicked by good players enough times to know that I got some good competition heading my way a while yet, and that the notion that MWO is ending is exaggerated at best.
That said. Please no more extensions of the phoenix package now, unless free of course. We have to eat you know
