We already had a poll on this with more people voting than the PGI troll poll, well over 3X as many, the poll was done when the first rumblings of 3rd person coming to MWO were heard.
They did not care then and they don't care.

I may be wrong though.
But let's face it, does it really matter? Even if a poll said 1million against 3pv and none for it i don't think PGI would change their mind. They haven't about any other bad thing introduced into MWO.

Yeah, but their way, me and players like me are canceling pre-orders and moving to different games completely. At lest they'd have some retention with the split queues.

And, if it is as some suspect and IGP has PGI in a hammerlock over the whole matter, then separate the 1st and 3rd person queues. We as a community have already shown with definative proof that it provides the ability to see past cover, and we've stated time and time again that WE DO NOT WANT 3RD PERSON VIEW. If they have to leave it in, give us a way to avoid those using it.

Well to be fair it was in the other MW games (as far as i know. I only played MW2 and i can barely remember it), but i do think 1pv and 3pv should be separated. I'd be happy with them together if they put in a LoS like in WoT...and got rid of the immersion-breaking drones
Did MW2 have an expansion or something called Ghost Bears legacy?

That would be okay if it was just about newbies seeing their legs, but i think it's more than that. It's just that some players like playing their mech from the 3pv view (or the view it will be when PGI work on it more) and as PGI have said, they want MWO to appeal to a wider audience.
If PGI want to have both views though they should use a LoS system like WoT. I wish they'd use the camo system as well. You can rent camo with "C-Bills" or buy it with cash.

There was another one the first one had over 7000 votes on it, it was I think during closed beta and got "accidentally deleted" when they changed the web site.

PGi's insistence on 3PV never had anything to do with the new player experience, if they really cared about the new player a tutorial would have been allot more useful to help people get used to the workings of this game, like the tutorial on every other mechwarrior game. No they smelled dollars over in console country and put all of us on an island.
They should rename this Mechassault online because that is where it is heading.
And be sure when they are finally done tweaking 3PV it will be allot better to use than what it currently is.
