It seems that the only way to get PGI to listen is to stop buying the stuff they are trying to sell, in simple terms they will be forced into a corner and will have to make some serious decisions, they cant shut the servers down unless they refund people,

You can stop buying their stuff in order to force them to listen. I'm not upset at the direction the game is taking, and am looking forward to what comes next. I'm hoping some sort of Marauder package!

Short term Business Decision: Release new mech's and maps and milk it till the servers have to shut down due to lack of interest

Long Term Business Decision: Release the finished game, with content updates and then release the mech's. After a few months, release a new expansion that has items and cosmetic's for people to buy.

Wonder what one they have chosen?

I'm pretty sure UI 2.0 (which should be called MWO 2.0 to be more fair) would be a long term business decision. Work on the foundation despite the wailing and angst, because it'll allow progress in the future.

Don't you think that it would have been a bad business decision to let the graphic guys and 3D-modelers sit idle for some months while the software engineers are working on the front- and backend?

Seriously? When was UI 2.0 supposed to be launched? Past tense is warranted here, especially after all they said about it being launched at Game Launch in September. Nothing long term about a missed launch date.

Saying "I'm pretty sure" is just your way of kinda supporting PGI, I suppose. Even you have your limits.

Doesn't make it short term thinking. It's still planning for the long term.

UI 2.0 is due 3 weeks after launch, which was on Sept 17th 2013.

If the clickfest I saw with the complete inability to select mech sections unless for a menu with those names, unability to see all the critical slots and change armor, items and upgrades all in the same screen is the "foundation" of the future, then we're a little bit screwed you know?

I bet even PGI uses Smurfy's to build up their mechs and pass along builds within their offices. Yet they thought to create just a beautiful UI rather than a functional one.
The only great thing that I saw in the playtest (besides the fullscreen and the good looks) was the weapon group configuration. Everything else is in a poor state of even mental design, I hope that its developement allows some reworking as I saw in the feebacks and that they'll release it when it will be BETTER than the current ui.

This game desperatedly needs complete re-balancing of the hardpoints system, a working matchmaker (I'm pretty sure they'll screw everything again with the weight restrictions), better game modes, and.. a ton more of things that shouldn't still be in the state they are after 1 year. We still have SRMs without splash damage, it's months we should see them fixed to at least give some more brawling options instead of destroying the Gauss Rifle or the movement or introducing Ghost heat like they did.

New mechs, I mean, monthly mechs releases, won't save this game :/

The launch press release by PC Gamer (who called MWO one of the Top 25 shooters, mind you) said that UI 2.0 would be released in "four weeks."

Four weeks later, on Tuesday, October 29, Patch Day, there was no UI 2.0

It is now ten week later. Most players' UI 2.0 experience is limited to watching Homeless Bill grow frustrated with a woefully incomplete test build -- riddled with design flaws -- that was only available for a few hours.

Players wanted Community Warfare..... Hey as Heffay would spin it "Look guys PGI delivered CW we are in it right now on the forums, this is just the pre-planning developmental stage. The devs are currently evaluating the player interaction mechanics and everything is on track and coming along nicely just be patient and stop trolling".

But.. but.. but..

Bryan said, at the launch event, each phase of CW would release over 6 months period (You all remember that epic power-point presentation some intern whipped up, right?).

So, 6 month multiplied by 3 is 18 months, a year and a half.

As said in the 2 / 12 post / update, PGI showed that CW hasn't even properly left the developmental drawing board and into production in any form, not yet. So it's already lagging a few months behind. You'd therefore assume the same to happen with each 'phase' of the CW roll-out and you're looking at 3 periods of about 8-9 months. That's 24 to 27 months, over two years.

Considering CW is already late by a year, you should all be glad to see anything resembling completion before 2016.
