We have been promised HSR improvements on this date.

Do you know what it means If it actually works? It means Flea and Masc are good to go for Sept. They may have to go all in and release the Hero Flea at the same time.

Keep an eye out for "PTW, Invincible -insert name of Hero Flea here-" threads if the HSR improvements are insufficient.

I for one welcome the possibility of the return of the invincible light mech as well as the LRM rain and streak cats it would summon.

Now because PGI has to scramble and scramble hard to cram as much stuff in the launch patch we might also get weight limits and the Guass charge.

I think I heard the gauss change is coming the 17th? I think I also heard that the flea is a ways off yet. There's more problems with MASC than just HSR, I believe.

Tonnage limits can't come fast enough, though. I feel that's the last major piece needed in the war against matchmaking.

we do not even know if there will be patch.You know there is not hero of the month on main page and there are no news about patches in CDU...

I honestly don't understand, why there is no announcement of anything from the side of PGI. I would really like to know what will be introduced with todays patch or if there even is one. And I don't believe, that I'm the only one interested in that.

I was wondering the same thing honestly. If there is a patch then great! I heard rumors that the UI 2.0 was being released today but doubt it, I want to see the Flea released cuz well its the flea! How to be fast and annoying 101. But if there is a patch im pretty sure it dosnt get put on the client untill about 10am my time(4 hours ish). Also would like to see them fix the economy back to the way it was. Way to dam boring grinding c-bills..

We'll get HSR tweaks and potentially DX11. They pulled the test a week or so ago, either to push it to Live or delay it further.
It'd be a real nice but unlikely surprise if we'd get UI2.0

Could you fill me in on what HSR is and what it dose? along with what the DX11 would fix?

patch will be there for sure but i doubt there will be "content" in it. I think they save every little bit of new content for launch patch in two weeks. We'll likely see some fixes and aggressive balance tweaks.


HSR means Host state rewind and is a hit detection enhancement, or it should be one.

(in theory, the server calculates you shot back and see if you hit or not, even if you have high ping).

I'd actually wager a guess that they'll try to push out as much content as possible both on the 3rd and the 10th. Simply because it's still beta until the 17th, and nothing beats letting the whole community test out stuff like UI 2.0 before launch even if it's a bit unstable. But we'll see, they might just push out stuff on the testing client.

HSR= Hit State Rewind, a term the devs use for everything used to lessen lag and compact response time between server and client, aimed at players with high ping.
Earlier there was a delay on ballistic weapons up to almost a second between you pressed fire and the shell actually came out from the gun. This had something to do with the client sending packets to the server and the server had to "confirm" the input resulting in the delay.
Also, sometimes you (the client) saw you hit an enemy dead on, but no damage was registered on the server and you'd miss but not knowing about it. This is also due to server response to client requests.
HSR works to eliminate problems like that.
