Conntent Tracker List:

Hot notes

Atlas Hero Mech

I am impressed, PGI Sirs! Thats a fast good reaction! Disappointment was countered by new Hero Mech on already known chassie. Great!

According to the ask the devs, they do communicate but only via podcasts mainly as they can add emotion into it when they are putting a point across

which is **** for the rest of us who can not be arsed to sit and listen to hours of podcasts

Why would you bother asking? You would just spout some kind of counter argument saying that the new player who quit is the minority and their reasoning is invalid anyway...

Just Bull**it. Don't judge others by your own standards.

What he told me:

He doenst want to study mwo to play it. The Weapons and all other stuff arent explained well ingame. You have to find everything on the forum.

And graphics looks like from 2005 also sounds are not furturistics.

Only thing he likes are the fights.

That was his oppinion, as a new player. I dont mind the graphics and sounds, but the managment is so........

I think, especially the first point is interesting. The points below are often criticised here. Correctly, I must admit. But the first point often gets criticised in the other way. Many ppl here want MWO to be even MORE a mech-sim than it is now. That's just, what I wanted to say in other posts. Many critics are understandable, but to keep MWO a competitive game some ppl should lower their sights.

Edit: And of course there should be a more detailed tutorial and it should have been there before launch.

I think to put the game down 'forever', at this stage, might be a bit premature. I'd at least wait until all features discussed by PGI are fully implemented before making that decision (this doesn't mean you have to play during this time though). At the end of the day everyone has a choice, play the game/don't play the game. I get the feeling though that things will improve once we have a reason to battle, I must admit just dropping for fight after fight after fight can get a bit repetitive and we have to take breaks now and again to prevent burnout. For some that means permanent breaks until the next 'big' feature goes in etc but again that's not a problem, but I wouldn't count it out just yet, it's got way more to give.

Wow thats real cute. If the game is so perfect and is run perfectly to you and your perfect standards then why are you still in this thread?

Oh wait its not, average scores from real critics are rolling in and the outside internet is filled with negative comments and experiences in discussion boards and media comment sections from the non battletech fans aka the target audience from PGI.

As it has been said before if it wasnt for the IP of Mechwarior/Battletech and the fact that fans have been waiting so many years for another official title this game would have crashed and burned already (not what I want to see might I add).

Instead everyone is blindly loyal and will happily ignore the problems while PGI milks money out of you with hero atlas mechs and the next obvious step that is "clan founders" Also 5 hero assaults now compared to 1 hero light, it is quite obvious what is going on and this "welcome to launch but sorry we have no long awaited non mech/map content its coming soon" is a prime example of it.

Also 99 pages and PGI still isnt communicating well.

I think you misunderstood the problem and the point being made. It's not as much the "mech sim" aspect of the game as it is the having to dig around forums and third party sites to find out how things work in the game instead of the game having the information presented in an easy to find and digest manner. That is a huge factor for new player retention in most games and PGI has been so terrible about that with MWO that it almost seems like they are purposefully keeping it that way or are just so amateur that they don't realize they should've devoted serious manpower to it about a year ago. Many previous Mechwarrior titles have been just as "sim" oriented, if not more so than MWO, but they presented the mechanics of the game in ways that players were able to learn those mechanics while having fun.

UI 2.0 is supposed to address a lot of the "lack of information" in the game at least on the mech lab side of things. At least in the aspect of removing the need to google for a weapons chart to get a good idea of dmg/heat comparisons etc.

I would love to see what the actual page count for a thread like this would get to if everyone was limited to only 1 post. I can't help but think that it would be quite a lot less.

Edit: 815 posters currently, at 20 posts per page, and it would be at less than half of it's current size with just over 40 pages.

PGI: 'Yes the UI 2 will address some of these concerns. We are having meetings and discussing methods for completing this implementation. It is a top priority. We will get this out in the coming months. Expect big things in October.'

edit:
disclaimer: 'this is not a real quote.'

From the time I turn the mech on to the time I get to the score screen, I am having fun. But everything else is in shambles with no real time frame for putting it back together. This weeks AtD just has a bunch of questions that they picked to answer...and didn't answer them. Just pick one or two questions you CAN answer and gives us that.

Now they are talking about releasing clan mechs in the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2014. This is just another Pheonix package that some people will gobble up and will delay any meaningful GAME updates for another extended period...(purely my speculation here...if it wasn't obvious). Top priority should be game modes. CW is pointless without a bank of meaningful game modes. Attack/Defend, Infrastructure Raids/Sabotage, and supply Raids/Defense.

New mechs are fun but I'm getting tired of putting new tires on my 1960's POS.

Guys, you're all missing the real point with this whole reddit-talking-about-MWO thing. Redditors aren't playing the game, instead they are arguing about it on reddit.

The same thing is happening on SA and right here on the MWOmercs.com forums. I don't play, I don't log in, I don't even have the game installed right now. When I was playing the game, I didn't bother with the forums very much. Now I come almost every day to check and see if Garth or Paul has actually apologized to the community genuinely, to check if any actual features are ever being delivered on, and to watch nerds get mad at video games.

People are visiting the MWO forums and reddit threads because it's more fun than playing the game.

That's pretty much me. Well, apart from the desire to watch people get mad about the game. I'd rather everybody loved it.

But yeah. I check the forum every couple weeks to see if anything's happening and check the patch notes. I haven't played in months and don't intend to. Hopefully the game survives until CW, because I haven't spent my premium time or much of my.... oh {Scrap}, what is it called? The MWO real-world currency. I've still got a bunch of that stuff.

Sorry but this still doesn't prove your earlier statement and doesn't even provide circumstantial evidence to back it up, it's just pure speculation.

Can it be Disputed with any factual numbers/stats?

@Tarzilman.
My mood you understood correctly.
My mood is with PGI not people or their opinions.

Aff, trothkin. 100 pages choking our datafeeds with this insolent filth. Let these Dezgra chat-warriors stew in hatred and self-righteousness. I'll be on the field, guns at the ready, awaiting my equal.

Well, I like the game. It gets serious when I want it to, and it gets quite easy going when I want it to be that way. Either way - it keeps the same level of fun. In BF3, for example, you got to always keep up with the ongoing tense, or you fall off the gameplay. Really nice game.

just think a bit further, maybe this counts for every thread? and maybe some post stand for 100 of players so they dont repeat?ptherwise there would be more! maybe some players have to answer questions? maybe they want to change something and there is only this option?

please think further
