Or...idk...a post giving a detailed account of how it will work?
Or...maybe just a vague post confirming its still alive?
Anything?
I think Open Beta had more fanfare than this. Hell Closed Beta was more exciting.
Congrats on the milestone anyway.
Well, some people keep claiming that this game launched for them on Open Beta, so what would this day mean for them anyway?
EDIT: also those updates about Community Warfare are supposed to be announced during the launch party next week.

Looked at most of the 10s that were rated. Wording and phrasing is a bit the same on most of them, I get the feeling someone keeps making dummy accounts just to counteract the negitive user reviews. I could be wrong, but thats just my thoughts. I'd give it a 6/10, but I dont feel like signing up.

If so, very smart, PGI.
Exactly the feeling I got from that video. Same music, same lineup with mechs.
If they hired him to make it, good for him, IF NOT, I think creds are in due!

It’s been just over two years since we entered pre-production on MechWarrior Online in summer of 2011. We unveiled our plans on Halloween 2011 and then spent another year in development before releasing our first open beta version on October 29th, 2012. Since then we have patched the game over 29 times, and have registered over 1.3 million players, and we continue to see amazing growth and engagement from our community!
Since Open Beta launched, we have added 100s of new features: including visual customization, ELO match making, 13 new `Mechs, 4 maps (soon to be 5), tutorials, testing grounds, new modules and consumables, improvements to the UI and HUD, additions to the end of round summary screens, new user stats, controls options, new team play options and coordination in the form of lance and company commands, the massive 12 v 12 feature, 3PV, new `Mech movement on slopes, `Mech quirks, and much more. Not to mention tuning, bug fixes, and performance enhancements, which have significantly improved the quality of the game during our open beta phase.
With launch officially here, players can expect MechWarrior to continue to storm ahead with regular semi-monthly patches for the foreseeable future. We have a full slate of expansion features coming out during the next year, which include our new entire re-envisioned user interface, private matches, level and rank system, the ability for players to join and create custom mercenary units, new game modes, Clan technology, and the epic battle to control the Inner Sphere. All of this in addition to our regular monthly content updates and events. Expect us to continue delivering new maps throughout the next year, with some exciting new concepts like Island Metropolis out in October, and Moon Base due out in December.
We have captured the essence of what it means to be a MechWarrior pilot and we look forward to expanding the MWO universe with exciting new content for many years to come!
Operation 24
Celebrate Launch and the fielding of 24 `Mechs on the battlefield with Operation 24! Play any 24 games (win, lose or draw) between September 17th and October 1st (10am PDT) to receive a cool in-game “Operation 24” hanging cockpit item automatically.
Launch Event
On Thursday Sept 26th, Infinite Game Publishing and Piranha Games will host the official MechWarrior Online North American Launch Event and Tournament at The Mezzanine in San Francisco. Registrations to compete in the North American Launch Event Tournament are closed, but you can tune-in to watch the invitational tournament and festivities live at www.twitch.com/mechwarrior from 2 p.m. Details can be found at http://mwomercs.com/events.

Well, I am so happy you like this game. Just a friendly hint: The only reason you get to enjoy it, is because people like myself, i.e. founders, invested good money to get it going.
Enjoy the free ride!

You ever wonder how your downloads from just about every website seem to work, and your cell connection handles problems just fine as you roam around? There are established methods for error correction, retransmission, problem detection, etc.

That's not true. The game could have been funded without founders money. Heck, they didn't start collecting money for Founders until well into the closed beta.

And then, like people who took the above advice a year ago, come back in a year to more of the same. (But with more Hero and Champion mechs to play the same 2 game modes with...

Customer service is CRAPPY!!
Not enough content!
too many mechs!
Couldn't deliver what you promised!
Nice to know this will be cod/mechwarrior with upcoming crouch function and even possible side step to avoid charging mechs and a Knockdown...
Star citizen released their pre pre pre alpha hanger module and it's even better than your current game and that should be a wake up call for you PGI.
Their customer service gets back to you in less than 24 hrs and with a community of 250k + already..

- Three soft lock ups (control-Alt-Delete tab back in to free up) in first two games after patch.
- Still get stuck on pebbles
- Still have sever rubber banding at lest once for a couple of seconds in most games
- Still have totally screwed up weapons, several worse than ever before just before launch
- Still have a lousy UI for the Mech lab
- Still do not have Community Warfare
- Still do not have a lobby
- Still have only two game modes that are virtually identical.
- Still have all kinds of bugs, glitches and general problems.
All of this was acceptable as long as the game was called a beta. PGI, its not beta any longer and shipping products should not crash to desktop or lock up on a regular basis. You have raised the stick by which the community that plays the game will measure its playability by; I hope you are up to the task of meeting the more stringent "shipping code" expectations the player base will now have. If you are not then the player base will stick around for a much shorter time and this game will make far far less money than it could have.

am, a bit annoyed they took the mwll gauss slug thing.. from .. their.. vid..
and..
the portrayal of "massive" , i.e. more than 12 v 12 takes quite some ba lls.. since. that is NOT what the game offers..
what are there 24 mechs.. all on the same team?

Let me clarify.
Yes, MWO was "funded" to some extent prior to the Founders Program.
So, PGI is seeing $$$ signs in the form of the Shadowrun Kickstarter and other such projects during the first year of real, honest, BIG crowdfunding projects are gaining media attention.
They say "Hey, let's do that too" and we ponied up some $5 million USD in cash - just from Founder's packs, not from subsequent MC purchases mind you - on the basis of a few MS Paint sketches of stick figures and chalkboards showing us what they had in mind, and one video showing the project they were forced to give up on.
Could MWO have been created without us?
Sure.
But we have forked over a lot of money. The customer is not always right, but when those customers who gladly spent two to three hundred dollars a piece are leaving, in droves, because you have not given them what they believe they have paid for... when hundreds of paying customers are saying "Hey, do this and I will give you more money!"... when the people who have given you some millions of dollars over the last year are all more or less asking for the same thing, one might get the idea we will give them MORE MONEY if they actually produce what we are asking for. Not go down some hairbrain idea to gain new customers while alienating your current customers.
Sorry.

son... i am dissapoint.
As i said on Facebook, courageous PGI, courageous.
I wish you, that this game will survive, because i still want to play it, but as you can see on your shiny statistics, i am not really playing for a few weeks now, and i don't really think i wil...
Your "launch" is basically removing your own, biggest defence shield: the "this is still in beta"-excuse.
Good luck, i will check back from time to time
