Wow! So, like, I haven't played since a year or so ago when I pre-registered / donated or what have you. I've just been really busy with school, things taking up my time. You know how it is.

But then I got an email in my box--mechwarrior online's official launch party! I thought, okay, it's been a year, and this is the launch party. That one email was enough to convince me to put on the mech-riding gloves.

So, thank you for this awesome launch. Once I got here to see what you've got in store, I made this post and went back to doing homework. This launch has 100% saved my grades for the semester.

With CW still a ways off, this is really just a second beta party. PGI may want to remove that tag, but the game is still missing a key feature. In my view, MWO has entered a phantom beta period. We all know the game is still miles from meeting it's basic goals for a complete game.

Can we have a relaunch party when CW comes out? That will be when the game might be able to say it's really out of beta.

I'm not saying I hate the game or think that PGI murdered Mechwarrior. I enjoy MWO, I just want the big features that were teased at the beginning. Even just some of the basic features of CW, like being able to make a unit.

I'm pretty sure the devs confirmed this was going to be the case over two weeks ago. Why are people surprised by this?

As for the Apple Jack skin, 1) I actually like it a lot, and 2) It's the exact same price - not any more expensive than the other custom skins (which still means I'll wait for it to go on sale to buy it... but I wait for sales to buy pretty much anything anyway).

Posting any evidence of new maps is now a bannable offense. We could not show you images of upcoming maps even if we wanted to.

Not everyone keeps up to date on these boards.

It's only a surprise if you didn't wish to know in advance (it doesn't help that the sources of info is not directly from PGI itself).

The worst thing in MWO is that PGI/IGP shut down development of Mechwarrior Living Legend mod for Crysis.

Actually it is true, the Venture Capital money was running out, and if they did not start to generate revenue the project was dead. Without the infusion of founders cash you would not have a game now. It was how they solved the problem of needing more money to get it off the ground and no Venture Capital funds willing to pony up. It was a good solution to the problem of funding to get through the gate.

#saveMWO gave up. We saw the writing on the wall. All these guys with founders badges and like 20 points showing up to say "Still no reason to play" are not from #saveMWO, they're individuals showing up because this was a game they cared about and they're so disappointed.

Woke up this morning thinking that PGI surely couldn't be stupid enough to launch the game as is and that they'd sneak something in there to make the game launch worthy.
