I love this one:

"Love this game. The graphics are epic. It's updated regularly. The prices are reasonable for a free to play and there's no pay-2-win. The devs communicate more than Blizzard and SquareEnix combined. Don't listen to the sad comments from people mad about the addition of a third person camera: They're literally mad about a camera. This game is free and deserves a try so what do you have to lose?"

Genuine review, reviewer gave it a ten. Are they playing the same game?

at least half of the posts are people that are disapponted in this patch. It makes me worry that the money i spent was wasted :)

Stop worrying about why other people are emotionally upset over a video game (developer) and decide whether you have fun or not. That's what really matters in the long run.

Granted, it's a small sample size here : http://www.metacriti...hwarrior-online

but with 50% more negative than positive reviews, that should open some eyes ...
also. "top 25 pc shooters of all time"
laughable. who's the shill who dropped that quote.

I like the game, I still play it (since early beta) - it's fun - but it has no where near the feature list it needs to properly compete in today's market, and it looks like it's from 2004.

lol 115 for, 152 against, 35 in the middle.. wow there are some damning figues right there.. out of 374 ratings... better close up shop.. the 370-odd meta critic users have sorted this out...

Whilst on the face of it nothing has changed significantly today, I do think that a launch from an open beta is necessarily like this.
After all, the point of the beta is to home the game so that the bugs are out of it.

This, they have mostly done.

I lamented the lack of a MW after everyone stopped playing MW4, for years. (to the chagrine of my friends who would often hear me saying I was actually the best player at that, unlike in DOTA where I am always the noob).

So MWO is fantastic, despite the flaws and me having quite in disgust after a patch, a couple of times.
But it is still the best MW option there is.

I still play BF, Civ5, and others, of course, as the mood takes me.
I also enjoy MWO.

Having said that, I would like to see more maps, and some choice of where you drop (what map I mean).
I have mechs that totally die on hot planets, and some that are wasted (heatsinks) on cold. Why not give us the choice of hot or cold, if not the actual map?
Of course no one would play volcano map....

And I thought this engine had deformable/destructible landscape...maybe I'm wrong. I would love to be able to shoot the cover away from in front of a mech!

I still miss my Daishi...tho I expect my memories are too fond, and when it comes I will die a horrible death right away.

Wow... They saved the most boring patch for launch... How freaking lame. I'm trying to stick it out but this is just getting ridiculous

We got them to stop doing something stupid, once.
They postponed open beta, when a majority of testers said the game was not ready...for about a month.
Majority doesn't mean anything unless it's silent, then you can do anything you want.

I wish MPBT: 3025 was launched, they at least were testing the Community Warfare when EA shut it down.

In that youtube video posted there at the end... showed 20 vs 20 or something like that.....was that just for theatrical purposes? 12v12 is what we have, they used the other team as back ground or are we gonna get more then 12v12 later? =D i played when it was 8v8 and ive recently came back after 6 months of not playing.....seeing 12v12 is epic i hope for more maps and player counts in the future....

I bought the medium mech founders pack last year... been waiting for this to come out of beta, and honestly I've only played a handful of times. I play WOT, and have been beta testing WOWP for over a year. Kinda disappointed with this launch.
WOT and even DDO did their customers a lil better at their respective launch. and wargaming is looking to have a great launch for WOWP at the end of the month.
Hopefully more features are implemented soon, otherwise, that was a waste of money to me.

^ This is a pretty lackluster launch compared to those respective games.

Yes lets launch a game that still has basic problems like hit detection and an elo that still makes 90% of my games with one team slaughtering the other. Yup can't wait to see what else they will put off for months on end and then deliver it with nothing that they promised and broken. To another year!!!

Stunning Official Launch Trailer!!

As someone who REALLY cares about MWO's overall grasp of 31st Century combat, that trailer is offensive. Within seconds we see a shot of 12+ Mech's advancing down a hill, have Battalion drops been added? When can we expect forty Mech's per team?

"THE ULTIMATE VISION OF WAR" ??? WAR??? WAR??? A little dust up between a couple of cobbled together Mech Companies. Where are the Dropships, VTOL and Aerospace assets, jump and foot Infantry, where are the tracked and hover AFV's, scout cars and APC's, Artillery batteries and FASCAM, where are the varied objectives, where is the information warfare, where is the role warfare for the workhorse of the Inner Sphere, the 5/8-6/9 Cav Mech, where are the maps that contain something worth fighting for?

What we have is an excellent Mech brawling sim, but that does not an "Ultimate War" make. Maybe in a few years time...

Bryan forgot to mention that there is zero lag compensation in a 2013 game more than a year after closed beta started. I think it's been nearly two years now? I cant recall the exact dates. I remember even half life 1 had lag compensation...

Hey Bryan, you should totally try hitting fast moving mechs with 300 ms ping. It's a fun exercise in futility.

Congratulations on achieving launch. I've only been playing a short while and I'm pretty impressed so far.

There is lots of room for improvement but you have a solid foundation. Good luck making this game the benchmark for mech games in the future.

My only advice - making the launch day item a gift rather than a grind to keep the haters onside. Also have a look at how WoT does their events. They know how to encourage the passion in their player base with flash sales and event items. As always variety is the key and delivering additional maps and game modes promptly may reinvigorate those who are burning out.

It is good to see that throughout this negative thread many passionate players continue to drop by over time and hopefully this will mean the player base will return and increase as the game matures.

I think you are looking for Mechwarrior Living Legends. It is based in Cryengine 2, and features mechs, tanks, hovertanks, wheeled tanks, battle armor, VTOLs, fighters, and fighter-bombers. Give it a try sometime; it really is an amazing game.

Okay I feel this needs to be said;

PGI, you have been busy working on this game for over a year now. Which is fine.

That said though, you have one of (if not the worst) pricing system for any micro-transaction online game in existence.

Founders packages are a completely different kettle of fish, however your Phoenix expansion mechs are the perfect example for my statement above.

$80 (US) for digital content??? Are you ******* serious??? 4 mechs, with some variants & skins?| (purely digital content) You can literally buy WHOLE FINISHED GAMES for that much...

That in and of itself wouldn't usually be enough to push me over the edge, but releasing the game without ANY of the promised features when you charge SO MUCH MONEY for digital content is just not acceptable.

No CW, no UI update.

Major fail PGI, seriously major fail. I would not be surprised if many people just stopped playing.

Learn from the mistakes of other developers. If you are going to let people buy into a game with digital content, charge ludicrous amounts of money for said digital content, then you bloody well better deliver on the things you've promised.
