Big announcement from Seanlang and Mike: That map we've seen for a month or two, called Island Metropolis, is actually called Crimson Straits! They're going to have one drop on it with all Blackjacks. It was initially billed as a free-for-all which got my hopes up about new game modes-- but they very quickly corrected that it's actually still just two teams.

Minimum viable product + new mech sales = profit.

I like Russ talking about viable light mechs and lack of legging, while all tournament we've seen a lot of long-range heavy/assault build dominance while light mechs are losing legs. Mediums are still trash, brawling's still not really an option.

edit: so far, the "Community Warfare" presentation is just reiterating stuff they told PC Gamer last year

That's not a bad thing necessarily (people have wanted this to a degree), but that MM will choke on itself with more criteria. It would help to have a casual/newbie queue and a "serious"/normal/regular queue.

I think we can call it confirmed that faction warfare is just going to be deathmatch that fills up a bunch of bars, that let your 'faction' fill up a bunch of other bars. Even at the highest phase, it's gonna still just be a giant grind with no real consequence.
