Gotcha. I just suck.

But on that note, I just had my second consecutive round one on one with a spider where I did no damage with at least 5 hits with 3MLs while my whole mech was swiss cheesed and melted down by his flamer and machine gun. That's right. zero damage. That's a nerf. That was also shooting at short to point blank range and seeing the hit animation.

Honestly, most of the time you're better off ignoring the Spider and just trying to bring it closer to your team where everyone can shoot it.

I can't be sure why you'd have 0 damage without actually seeing the game. Maybe your ping is very high and inconsistent. Maybe your lasers only ever moved very quickly passed the Spider and didn't register any hits (lasers do damage in 'ticks'). Maybe the Spider had some ridiculous lag. Usually you get at least some damage on a Spider that doesn't die.

My ping rarely goes above 50 so, I don't know about that. I've reduced everything down to the fastest framerate I can because of spiders and their lag invincibility. My shots were full term dead on the upper body of the spider 70% of the time with the rest being arms or side torsos. All this was under 100m in distance. I've no idea how you guys tape your stuff. It's way too technical for me or would probably bog my computer down, so... I don't see that an option anymore. Regardless, I know something ain't right. You just don't miss when the mech is taking up 35% of the entire view and you see the hits. I get that the spider is a small, fast, hard to hit mech. I just want the system to acknowledge it when it does. Otherwise I feel cheated and that's what upsetting to me because it is like any game system that has a flaw. Everyone gravitates to it to exploit the flaw and it skews the game to competing nerfs. I don't want to play in a game that is just going to be that.

that's exactly what it shows

for the most part HSR isn't a big problem because mechs are large and pretty slow. Even most lights are big enough that most of the time hits register correctly. But spiders are small and fast and frequently jumping, so there's more client/server issues with them than anything else

I have been running FRAPS in games because every time a thread comes up on the forums about broken spider hit boxes, spider pilots yell "learn to aim noob" or "show us proof"

So here is some proof, two clips from a single game.

In these two examples
1) a spider takes a dual gauss to the leg (30 damage). A spider leg has a max of 28 armor, and this one was already damaged. Cross-hairs light up red indicating a hit, but no damage is displayed. http://youtu.be/22zUuQ4Uod8

2) a spider takes a dual gauss to the side torso (30 damage). You can see the cross-hairs light up and you can see the glow of the damaged side torso. Max armor on side torso is 28 (likely 20 on the front). Spider walks away fine. It should have lost its side torso and arm. http://youtu.be/kX1c2RqfaZI

1. the aknowledgement came after I posted this video, like way after

2. I tried the same on the standing raven on the same map and it registered all hits, every single one.

and I did the same 'test' adn dismantled said spider with an AC20, though to be fair the right (facing) leg did not take same amount as the others (it didnt fall off)

1 spider is not going to take on/beat 4 assaults at the same time unless it's a good spider pilot and 4 crummy assault jocks, and then I'd bet the assaults are doing more damage to each other. Knowing the MM it's not impossible that your getting some good spider pilots going against fresh scrubs either.
a Spider taking out 4 assaults, solo... 1v1, why not... again we get back to pilot skill... and the question of what kind of match was made were 4 assaults went solo.

However YOU claimed 'consistently', so lets see it...

I just played a match where the last spider brawled with a closely packed group of a medium, 4 heavies and an assault and it killed 4 and got the last heavy into critical before it died to a lucky hit registration. The fight lasted something like 8 minutes with the spider constantly being hit.

Maybe its something lag related or server side, because they're clearly broken but they're not usually that bad.
