I'm still not going to.

I'm still waiting for a Butterbee. I think PGI doesn't like the fact that the lore describes the weapons in detail, and they can't take liberties with the hardpoints.

Well, I am pretty sure that if they are going with the Boars Head and having 2 more hardpoints over the RS, that going with the Butterbee and having 2 more missile hard points over the C1 won't be a problem.

or is the promo pic just mirrored? Have seen that before

I think it is mirrored: from what is shown in the Atlas variant images, under the tabs Game > Battlemechs > Assault > Atlas, one of the antennae on the head is noticeably bigger than the other, which is shown to be switched on the homepage screenshot taken. I'm guessing they will be having the ballistic and missile sides swapped on the final product, but they may well have literally just mirrored the original design, so the cockpit position may look mirrored too in game, although I'm just thinking freely right now.

Not sure why I'm fussing, it isn't that important in all honesty... I'd better go do something productive.

Yes, it's mirrored. Dev's said so. For aesthetics.

Surprise!
Another Hero's 'Mech.
For me, another bunch of wasted time.
With the Phoenix thing almost out and with the forums buzzing with several people that already got that, the objective remains the same: money.
From the business point of view, I understand it perfectly.
From the Player and Battletech fan point of view, this is another big letdown.
How much time has passed since this grasp of maps we still have was open to frag eachother in? 1 year (May, 22/October 2012 if I'm correct)?
And nothing still on what the Battletech universe should be (or could be if you like it more).
As I can see, sadly everything is pointing out that this skirmish-sort of thing will go on as it is for quite some time still.
Sorry folks but whatever you'll put out you won't see anything coming from me if this won't start the path to become more a Battletech game.
:)

I would prefer that over the brand name for cheap and unhealthy processed food.

Also, what's with you Yanks and your cheap and highly processed food anyway? Haven't you heard of good old Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, Mettwurst, or Gruyère?

Dang it! Now I'm hungry. :D

Ballistic and missile in each side torso would have been way cooler.

I reckon it should have laser in the non cockpit eye.

I must say though, on those rare occasions the other team supports their "Atlas Linebacker Blitz", the dang things can be pretty brutal!

I've been on both sides if this. Send in lights then mediums then assaults, then heavies. It becomes a steamroll

I'm a legendary founder and it's not a kick in the face.

For long we had the only sligthy useful Founder's mech ( with a free bonus ergo not hero mechs)
PGI said that the reason they never bothered with a new hero from those 4x original mechs was because of the already exigting founder variants but eventually they will add Hero mechs for those and here it is

Maybe you want to be back to Closed beta when founder mechs was considered it own variant? ( so you had to lvl twice the same variant?)

Anyway i'm not an Atlas pilot but i'm mildly interested in a hero catapult (4x missile and 2x energy on side torsos Buterbee plzplz)

Related to Boar's head if it can carry 2x ballistic the 2x Lbx 10 + 6x medlaser can be quite a sight.

makes me think the next ones might be the other founders now we are past relece and we have six months of releases before we see any new standed mechs so we wont see any hero mechs reselesed the same month as the standed models, (unless they bring out heroes of the Phoenix Mechs tho id think they would keep them back till latter)

Well right now PGI intent to keep the next 3-4 months in prepare the clan mechs in advance.

So as far we are aware some reskin or hardpoint layout on the original chassis may not take long, also i doubt they are going to release Hero's for Phoenix mech yet.

So... more 'Mechs again. Even if Clan ones, I would really have prefeared something to do with 'Mechs rather then having 'Mechs, 'Mechs and even more 'Mechs again... I'm quite confused. :)

Well the odd thing is they do not refer as just design them, but also testing how to properly implement them (Omni, honor rating, weapons who knows)

It sounds like if the Clan mechs aren't going to be as simple as come and buy then master. That can be a good thing ( or a bad one) making them belomg to a different game mechanic than the current one.

I'd buy a well thought out Hero Hunchback in a hot second.
