Sometimes you can not be sure if such 'Mech is really dead or merely disabled.

There are situations when enemy 'Mech shuts down because of the side torso loss heat spike, but it is technically still alive and will power up later. So it is better to destroy it, while you can.

And of course, sometimes enemy pilots shut down their 'Mechs deliberately.

That was the 10,000th post!

Why do people shot already disabled mechs? I witnessed many times that other shoot into destroyed mechs... Does it worth something or just a sign of certain dishonour?

And sometimes dead mechs don't fall over or lean against the scenery. Or maybe they are just bored and want to shoot at it anyway.

As already stated, sometimes a mech that looks dead isn't really dead.

I also know that I, on a reflex, have been known to shoot a dead mech because I just see a mech with no friend or foe marker over it, and I instinctively unload into it thinking it may be a mech under stealth. Then realize right after I pull the trigger that it was a dead mech. Oops.

I always have a minor weapon button (minimal heat) for such occasion...

A few times I thought enemy mech was dead, but actually overheated & thermal shutdown, and I turned around to fight other mechs.
Then this enemy zombie mech that I thought was dead, shoots me in the back at their leisure...

Can you not headshot a disconnect?

3 separate times now Ive shot at a DCs head and it takes no damage, like none registered, not even on CT.

Yes, you can.

Hitboxes of disconnected 'Mechs are not always where they seem to be - sometimes they are where they should be, sometimes they are not. Sometimes they are shifted.

Thhus, sometimes it is possible to get a headshot, sometimes it is not possible to do that, no matter how you try.

That's a hit recognition issue. I have blasted plenty of disconnects, and even if you miss the head, it should hit the CT. Also be aware that the Atlas' cockpit hitbox is in its left eye, and not centered on the head (but of course you should still score damage; maybe the game was confused because of the D/C.)

This is a good point.

Many players do not know where the "cockpit" hitbox really is on some 'Mechs.

Also, on many 'Mechs the "cockpit" hitbox is only a small segment of the visible cockpit glass. The rest is CT hitbox.

The hitboxes off all chassis (except the new Crusader at this point) can be found here: https://mwomercs.com...localization-2/

As has been stated, the hitboxes of players that never connected to the match are often misplaced. Those that disconnect after being active in a match should have correctly located hitboxes iirc.

The hitboxes on the majority of 'Mechs are so small that hitting them is not exactly easy. Usually the hit counts as CT hit, especially in the heat of the battle..

Depends on the angle of the shot too, but you should hit something generally especially if you shoot center of mass.

The OP said that his shots did not register at all.

Do friendly mechs with activated stealth armor have a blue friendly marker around them?

I am just starting with mwo. I don't want to shoot at friendlies and hesitate when I cannot lock on an unknown mech by pressing 'r' (no red or blue marker). Almost always it turned out, that it was indeed an enemy (probably with stealth engaged), finding myself narced or shot at.

Yes, they do have a blue marker. Ditto on the Battlegrid.

If you see any mech still alive with no bracket (neither Red enemy, nor Blue/Green friend), you must shoot this mech asap!
It's very likely a stealth armor enemy mech (shoot it!).
Or enemy mech temporary undergoing thermal shutdown (shoot it!).

Be aware, that there is a key bind that turns off all Unit UI so don't get confused. Otherwise, see above.

Heat Scale Limit. The number of similar weapons you can fire simultaneously without a heat penalty.

You're asking about the (IS) Blackjack BJ-1X from the Sept 2022 patch.
+2 HSL ER/STD Medium Laser; +2 HSL Medium Pulse Laser

A) HSL Quirk List here:
https://mwomercs.com...-hsl-quirk-list

B ) Ghost Heat: Both IS & Clan factions can normally fire only 6x ER-Medium Laser, or 6x standard-Medium Laser, or any 6x combo of these, without triggering ghost heat penalty.
https://mwo.nav-alph...pment/ghostheat

+2 HSL ER/STD Medium Laser lets you fire 2 additional, hence allowing you to fire 8x ER-Medium Laser, or 8x standard-Medium Laser, or any 8x combo of these, without triggering ghost heat penalty.

C) Ghost Heat: Both IS & Clan factions can normally fire only 6x Medium Pulse Laser (MPL).

+2 HSL Medium Pulse Laser lets you fire 2 additional, or 8x MPL without triggering ghost heat penalty.
